In 2023, there have been several attempted break-ins and unsettling incidents at a home that previously experienced an assault. This has caused fear and paranoia among the neighborhood residents. The narrator, a student at the University of Washington, shares their constant worries about personal safety. Another student, Jayden Olsen, also expresses feeling unsafe on campus. Fast forward to 2023, the same home that experienced the assault has had multiple attempted break-ins, including students waking up to having individuals sleeping on their porch. These horror stories have left everyone in the neighborhood feeling paranoid and constantly looking over their shoulders in fear of what could be next. During my time at the University of Washington, I do not think there has been one day that has gone by where I haven't worried for my own safety or the safety of others. Speaking with fellow senior at UW, Jayden Olsen, she describes her similar feelings of being unsafe on our campus.
