Fishing line catches a parrot in Garden Grove. Good afternoon, this is K-Beach 88 News at 3 o'clock, brought to you by Bug Central. And this is Anthony Rath reporting. A Good Samaritan in Garden Grove called the fire department to rescue a parrot. The wild parrot seemed to be struggling while perched high in a tree. Engine 82 and Truck 81 responded to the scene, accessing their crane ladder to reach the feathered friend. The parrot appeared to be in good spirits as it was carefully brought down the ladder to have the fishing line removed from its foot. Debris was to be intertwined with the line as well as the foot. On the fire department's official ex-feed, they expressed their appreciation for being called upon to rescue the parrot. For two years, the Los Angeles area was victim to heists that included armored cars, ATMs, and check cashiers. Defeats would zip tie victims, holding them at gunpoint while the money was taken. The spree netted the robbers $500,000. Mastermind's half-brothers, James Russell Davis and Denny Boo Hobson, would chase targets weeks ahead of time. LAPD and FBI pieced together the puzzle fights that ultimately put an end to the assaults with arrests of the half-brothers, leading to other assailants either being apprehended or killed. 40-year-old Clarence Yoder and 37-year-old McKenna Bates were arrested and arraigned in Montana for being under the influence of alcohol and disturbing wildlife while at Yellowstone National Park. Yoder was reported to the authorities by onlookers to be harassing a herd of bison, even kicking one in the leg. The driver of the getaway truck, Bass, was also charged with failure to yield to the authorities. Yoder was treated for minor injuries received when the bison responded to being assaulted. All in all, Yoder has been slapped with four charges and Bates with three. If convicted, each charge carries a fine of up to $5,000 and six months in jail. Both Yoder and Bates have pleaded not guilty. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene is planning to force a vote to House Republican Speaker Mike Johnson this upcoming week. Greene has yet to garnish any further lawmakers to sign on to her agenda. Although most Republicans agree that Bill Johnson has pushed through with mainly Democrat support, including another Ukraine aid package, government funding bills, renewed feces surveillance, and lack of border security, are damaging to the country. Greene is looking forward to Democrats supporting a Republican speaker and then having to explain that to their base during the upcoming primaries. While Democrats are not flinching and plan to table Greene's motion should she bring it to the floor. Colombian President Gustavo Petro announced at a rally in Bogota that his country will break diplomatic ties with Israel over what he referred to as a genocidal approach to the Hamas conflict. On October 7th, Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking 200 hostages. Israel has since retaliated by killing 30,000 Palestinians. Israel's Minister of Foreign Affairs called Petro a hate-filled anti-Semitic, while claiming that the country's relations would remain warm in spite of Colombia's actions. Over the past several weeks, the Philippines has been hit with record-breaking heat, causing Pantabangon Dam's water levels to lower by 160 feet. As the dam has dried up, a 300-year-old settlement has been exposed. This is the sixth time the settlement has resurfaced since the reservoir was built. Due to the extreme drought, this has been the longest it has been visible. Structures including part of a church, tombstones, and a city hall marker can be seen. Each time the settlement reappears, it becomes a popular tourist attraction. As a Gen Zer, we are the first generation to evolve with a smartphone in our hands. We will share adult decisions with millennials. I sat down with one of Spectrum App's digital producers, Corey Kennedy, a millennial, to ask him about the pursuit of one's passion within the entertainment industry, technology's role, and how to sustain a livelihood. While talking with Corey, it struck me how similar his advice was to those in their sunset years of life. Together, our generations are the game-changers. Our journey to success will evolve by way of integration of the latest technologies, of which we have a firm grasp on. However, as Corey points out, we cannot possibly reach expectations without also developing a similar attitude adopted by those generations before ours of perseverance, humility, and hard work. Join me on TwanTV Monday night at 8pm for the entire insightful interview with Corey as we discuss the fusion of rapidly evolving technology with the element of humanism exemplified by past generations.
