Alt + F10 maximizes the terminal window. Ctrl + Shift + Plus Button zooms in or increases the font size, while Ctrl + Minus zooms out or decreases the font size. Ctrl + Left Arrow jumps to the beginning of the previous word, and Ctrl + Right Arrow jumps to the end of the next word on the command line. Ctrl + A jumps to the beginning of the command line, and Ctrl + E jumps to the end of the command line. Ctrl + U clears from the cursor to the beginning of the command line, and Ctrl + K clears from the cursor to the end of the command line. Ctrl + L clears the screen, and Ctrl + C interrupts or terminates the current process. Ctrl + Shift + T opens a new tab in the terminal. These shortcut keys are useful for Hello everyone, in this video you will learn how to control the keyboard in Linux using the shortcut key quickly. You can pause the video and take a screenshot. I will explain each shortcut key one by one, providing examples you can use. First up we have the alt plus 5. So this shortcut restores the terminal window to the previous size. If your terminal is maximized and you wanted to return it to its previous window size, alt plus 5 will do that. Next we have alt plus f10 which maximizes the terminal window. For example, if you are working in a terminal and need more screen space, pressing alt plus f10 will maximize the terminal window to full screen. So now this screen is minimized or you can see the size is small. So if you wanted to increase this terminal size, what you will do, you will just quickly press alt plus f10. So this, you can see here now the screen is maximized. Next what we have to do, our next shortcut key is ctrl plus shift plus button. So there is a add symbol in your keyboard. You can see add and is equal to there. So we call it the plus symbol. So you can say it ctrl plus shift plus plus button. So the shortcut number 3 is ctrl plus shift plus button. So this is used to zoom in or increase the font size in the terminal for instance. If the text in your terminal is too small and if you wanted to read it comfortably, so pressing ctrl plus shift and the plus button will increase the font size and making it easier to read. So we will check that. Let's say you have written anything. So I am new to the Linux. So let's say if you wanted to increase this font size. So what you have to do, you have to press ctrl plus shift and the plus button. So here is the ctrl plus shift and the plus button. So you can see here the font size. So next, the next shortcut key is like ctrl plus minus. It is used to zoom out or decrease the font size in the terminal. If the text in your terminal is too large or you wanted to see more line of the text, so pressing ctrl plus minus will decrease the font size. Now you can see here this font size is too big. Let me increase more. So now if you wanted to decrease the size of font, so what you have to do, you have to simply press ctrl plus minus button. So there is, you have to press ctrl and the minus. So this will zoom out the font or you can say, can decrease the font size. Okay. So what we will do, we will just make it normal size and we will restart it. Okay. So let's try another shortcut key. So another shortcut key is ctrl plus left arrow, ctrl plus left arrow. It is used to jump to the beginning of the previous word on the command line. So this is if you want to quickly move to the start of the previous word without using the mouse. So you can quickly jump it. So let's check the next shortcut key is ctrl plus left arrow button. So we will again type, I am new to the Linux. Let's say if you wanted to go left side of this, this is something, just think this is a command. I am new to the Linux and or if any word. So what we have to do, you have to press ctrl plus left arrow key. So you can see, you can jump word by word. So this same work with the command. If you are typing any long command or use command. So what we have to do, you have to press ctrl plus left. It will jump word by word. Let's say if you wanted to move right. So what you have to do, you have to use the same thing, ctrl and the right arrow key. You ctrl plus right arrow jump to the end of the next word on the command line. Use this to simply move to the end of the next word in a command line without clicking around. So you do not have to use your mouse. You can quickly jump word by word. So our next sorted key is ctrl plus A. So ctrl plus A jumps to the beginning of the command line. If you are typing a long command and you wanted to move to the beginning of and you wanted to edit something quickly. So what you have to do, you have to simply press ctrl plus A. It will take you the, take your cursor there instantly. Let's check this. So let's say you are in the end of this command, this is some, this is any command or any text. So if you wanted to go directly to the beginning and you wanted to write here, you are. So you cannot like quickly do this like pressing ctrl plus arrow. So there in that scenario what you have to do, you have to use ctrl and A. So you can see here, let's say if you wanted to replace I from V, so you can type here V and just remove this. So what just I did, I just simply press ctrl plus right arrow and it has taken me like in front of M. Remember we have written I am here. So we do not have to press or we do not have to use mouse and we do not have to press right arrow key one by one. So it will take time if you use that. And so let's come to the another shortcut key here, ctrl plus E. Let's say if you wanted to, if you are in middle of any command and you wanted to jump to the end of the command line. So like after editing the beginning of command and you can use ctrl plus E. It will bring your cursor back to the end of the line for the further adjustment. Let's say you are here and you wanted to move your cursor in the end of this command line. So what you have to do, you have to simply press ctrl plus E. So now you can write your new command here. So we will try our new shortcut key, another shortcut key. Let's check the another ctrl plus U. So ctrl plus U clears from the cursor to the beginning of the command line. If you have typed any long command but you wanted to delete everything from the cursor to the start. Let's say somewhere you are in the middle of this command. We will use ctrl plus left arrow key. You are here and you wanted to remove everything just from here. So what you have to do, you have to press ctrl plus U. So what happen here, everything is now clear from here to the beginning. So we have written vr new to the linux. Let's try again. vr new to the linux and you wanted to remove vr. So what you will just simply do, you will just press ctrl plus U. OK. We will write here again. I am new to the linux. Let's say if you wanted to remove new to the linux and you wanted to write I am new to the let's say AWS. So what you will just simply do, you have to press ctrl plus E. And you can now type here I am new to the AWS. So how does this work? So we will try another. Let's say you have run so many commands. pd ls Let's say now you have run lots of commands and you wanted to clear your terminal. So what you have to do, you have to simply press the shortcut key ctrl plus L. It will clear the whole screen. OK. Now we will try another command ctrl plus C. Ctrl plus C interrupts or terminates the current process. Use ctrl plus C stop running command or the script immediately. You can use this. OK. Let's say if you are writing here mkdir mkdir student Now what happens? You like immediately remember that OK. I do not have to like create any folder. This folder is already available. So what you will do mkdir, what mkdir do is create a new directory. So let's say if you wanted to remove this command and you wanted to rewrite your command. So what you will do, you will just simply press ctrl plus C. So now here you can check if this folder is available there or not. So you can check here by using ls or like. Now you can see here there is no directory name with student. So now you can create your folder. So this is an example. OK. Now we will use another shortcut key ctrl plus F plus T. Let's reopen the last closed tab or the windows in a web browser or while not typically a terminal software. It's useful for the productivity. For example, if you accidentally close a terminal window or tab, you can reopen it quickly with the shortcut key ctrl plus F plus T. Or you wanted to open a new tab here. So you can simply press this button ctrl plus F and plus T. So now you can see here we have opened the new tab. I think that's enough. So now we will recap all the shortcut keys. So R plus F5. R plus F5 is restore the terminal window to its previous size. And R plus F10 maximize the terminal window. And ctrl plus F and plus button. Zoom in or increase the font size in the terminal. And the next is the ctrl and the minus button. You have to use ctrl plus minus button which zoom out or decrease the font size in the terminal. And next shortcut key is ctrl plus left arrow button. You can jump to the beginning of the previous word or you can say you can jump word by word in the command line. Same goes with the ctrl plus right if you are moving towards right. So you can press ctrl plus right arrow key if you are moving towards left. So you can press ctrl plus left arrow key. Ctrl plus A, you jump to the beginning of the command line. If you wanted to jump to the beginning of the command line, you can use ctrl plus A. Ctrl plus E is jump to the end of the command line. And the next one is ctrl plus U. Let's say if you want to clear from the cursor to the beginning of the command line. So you will use ctrl plus U. And the next one is ctrl plus K. So ctrl plus K clear from the cursor to the end of the command line. So let's say if you are in the middle of any command line. If you wanted to clear till the end where you are staying right now. So what you have to do, you have to simply press ctrl plus K. Ctrl plus L is clear the screen. And ctrl plus C is terminate the current process or like if there is any interruption And if you do not wanted to write the command, you can simply press ctrl plus C. And the next one is ctrl plus shift plus T. It will open the new tab in the terminal. I hope you find this shortcut key helpful. And please don't forget to like or subscribe.
