Ava's first podcast discusses the benefits and drawbacks of using podcasts in education. She highlights that podcasts offer enhanced accessibility and engagement, allowing students to access educational content anytime, anywhere. Different formats make topics more interesting and relatable, while also providing industry insights. However, barriers include not everyone preferring audio learning and limited access to devices and internet. In Seneca's flight services program, Ava sees podcasts as a way to bring learning to life by discussing aviation tech and real-life flight scenarios. Students can also create their own podcasts to boost research, teamwork, and presentation skills. Overall, podcasts provide an engaging approach to learning and prepare students for real-world challenges in the industry. Hi everyone, it's Ava, and this is my very first podcast that I've created using Audacity. I'll be sharing the benefits and drawbacks of podcasting in education, and how I can use it in my flight services program at Seneca. Podcasting in education offers significant benefits such as enhanced accessibility and engagement. Students can tune into educational content anytime, anywhere, which fits perfectly into their busy lives. I myself enjoy listening to podcasts during commutes, or when I'm on one of my long runs. With a variety of formats like interviews and storytelling, podcasts can make topics more interesting and relatable. Plus, they can dive deeper into subjects and provide fresh industry insights with up-to-date information. However, I do see some barriers, like not everyone preferring audio learning, and limited access to necessary devices and internet connectivity. But overall, I think podcasts offer a lot of potential. In Seneca's flight services program, I think podcasts can really bring learning to life. Imagine tuning into a podcast where experts chat about the latest in aviation tech, or listening to real-life stories about flight disruptions and emergency situations. Podcasts can also offer customer service tips and present passenger scenarios for my students to think through. My students can also create their own podcasts as a fun way to dive deep into topics they're passionate about, boosting their research, teamwork, and presentation skills. I think podcasts provide an engaging and interactive approach that not only makes learning more enjoyable, but also prepares students for real-world challenges in the industry. Thanks for listening!
