Welcome to Believe Together, the churches together in Kingcham Saltford production for KTCRFM 105.8 and online. Hello, Peter here with you again for this hour of Believe Together. Well, that was a great hymn to start off this week's show. Dear Lord and Father of Mankind. Now that was the version brought to us by Signature. A lovely group, and you can see them in the video if you go to our Facebook page as usual. All the music videos should be there. Yes, but this one, of course, was in the service of Remembrance on Sunday on TV. Yes. Hello there. Jenny back with you again. Now, I love the Festival of Remembrance every year. I make a point of watching it on TV. I wonder if you watched it this time. I hope you did. If not, you can always catch up on it, can't you? It's just so amazing. Of course, it's a very moving Festival of Remembrance. And it's also, well, it has all sorts of interesting things in there. Interesting stories from different people. And also I love all this singing, the marching in time together. It's wonderful. So that's good. Now, also in the Festival of Remembrance, they had somebody called Malachi Beyo. I wonder if you saw him on Britain's Got Talent this year, that amazing youngster singing, Piaget Zoo. Well, he sang it there at the Royal Albert Hall. Apparently, he's already got a recording contract and an album because he's such a great singer. So let's hear Piaget Zoo by Malachi Beyo. This is the recording of Malachi singing on Britain's Got Talent. Piaget Zoo Piaget Zoo Piaget Zoo Piaget Zoo Piaget Zoo Very nice. Very nice. Piaget Zoo Piaget Zoo Piaget Zoo Wow. No wonder Simon was so excited about that singing there. And the lad sang it again in the Royal Albert Hall for the Festival of Remembrance last Sunday evening. Now, earlier in the day on Sunday, I was privileged to be able to get to the Keynsham Town Services of Remembrance, the one in the parish church of St John's. Wow, that church was full. All 600-odd seats of it, I think. And yes, there were three generations of our family there, which is what the service is for. It's to remember and to pass on down the generations the understanding of war and what it does to people. During the service, there were the names read off the plaques from the walls in the church. All of the individuals from the area who died in the First World War, the Second World War, and finally from the Falklands War. Then people marched down the high street. Well, some people marched down. The rest of us just watched and enjoyed the event. And the street was crowded. The pavements were solid. There were people up on balconies and looking out of windows. The town centre was so full. I've hardly ever seen it as full. It was a really big local event. Now, I managed to make clips of recordings of a few things in the church, followed by some of the things said and done down at the memorial gates for the park, where the final part of the meeting happened. Yes, I've put it together here now. And finally, at the end of it, I've attached one of the hymns sung out in the open air by the gates of the memorial park. Let us remember before God and commence through His store-keeping those who have died for their country in war, those whom we know and those whose memory we treasure, and all who have lived and died in the service of humankind. Falklands 1982. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. R. W. Let us lift up our thanksgiving to Almighty God for the victory achieved on land, at sea and in the air, and for the liberation of so many from the cruelty of occupation and oppression. Let us give thanks for the heroism and courage of those who served in the armed services, who worked on the home front in civil defence, hospitals, hand-relief agencies, in factories, shops and farms. And let us pray for those who endured captivity, torture or death, that others might be free. They shall grow not old, as we have learned from old, they shall not worry then, for he is content. As it goes down in the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. We will remember them. ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ ¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶¶ Thank you for choosing that version of I've Got a Little List that was from the Mikado in 2011, brought to us by Gilbert and Sullivan Austin. his book the beginning revisits the early genesis account from heaven's perspective the story opens as the drama of creation clashes with the arrival of the rebel angel lucifer the sinister deception of adam and eve results in severe consequences for them and the everyday lives of their descendants how will god almighty thwart the attempts of an evil foe intent on bringing further ruin to humanity well you can read the book and find out i found this book drew me into the story once i started reading it i didn't want to stop the beginning can be obtained from amazon and um we have a link www.readthebeginning.com happy reading bye bye thank you for that review of the book mary i think i'd like to get hold of a copy of that book but i'd better make sure i don't start reading it late in the day in case i can't put it down all night now let's have something about adam and eve a song this may not be quite what bob norley was thinking about in the book but this is a lovely little song by shauna edwards and it's called adam and eve so the sun in the garden the flowers just grew the animals do it was easy me to leave the fruit of the poor goodbye they knew they waited and worked and spent all their child together and now we see it's time for us to look around and see what's going on in the town over these next couple of weeks right the first big event coming up is the canesham winter festival this is on friday the 24th of november from approximately 6 to 9 p.m for full event information and a map visit the facebook event page see the canesham town council's instagram winter festival highlights or visit the website which is www.canesham-tc.gov.uk now there are lots of things going to be going on during that evening around the high streets in canesham um well there'd be fun fair rides as well as all sorts of stalls and different things but let's focus here on what the churches are up um canesham high street churches will be taking part in this event as they always do st john's church will be open 6 p.m till 8 30 p.m it's an opportunity to welcome the community into the church and to offer refreshments crafts activities etc now if you'd like to volunteer to help at all on the stalls or clear up afterwards that would be great also they need a volunteer to dress up in a donkey onesie now i'm sure somebody out there would love to do that wouldn't you so please contact deb hall at the church office if you'd like to help in any way and of course do get along on the evening to enjoy the activities there in st john's church if you can okay so also on this evening of friday the 24th of november victoria church centre for the methodists once again that centre will be open to welcome the community for refreshments there will be carol singing at 6 45 p.m and the key voices choir will be performing at 7 45 yes and then the canesham baptist church on the high street uh they're really the centre for first aid lost children toilets and of course coffee and refreshments now also please look out for the ever popular illuminated crib stall outside in the high street somewhere the people running this including me will chat to any children who come to have a look at the crib and we'll be giving out goodie bags to children and adults lots of information about christmas and what the stories are really all about now we do ask for prayer please and that you go and say hello to us with or without a child in tow thank you very much now we've mentioned several things over the last few weeks that were sort of quite in the future well now they are coming up fast so here are a few reminders um you may want to jot something down in your diary or on your calendar if you're interested in any of these so the first thing is on saturday the 18th of november this weekend in canesham's baptist church what's happening well if you live in the canesham area we did say think about your kitchen cupboards have you got any packets tins jars of food even if they're out of date as long as they're undamaged and unopened that you no longer need if you take them along to the baptist church then on saturday the 18th of november between 9 00 a.m and 1 00 p.m they will be able to then pass them on to the canesham community fridge for the wider community to benefit from them so that's good isn't it and of course don't forget that you can at any time donate to the canesham food bank via the drop boxes in pescos and waitrose all sorts of food and other items including christmas items but they still only accept items that are not past their use by date yes now something else that i've just not had the time to go to it would have been lovely is the threads through creation in wells cathedral that's still on until the 27th of november it is spectacular stitching on a huge scale eight million stitches expressing god's love and wednesday 29th of november 7 00 p.m in bath abbey an ethiopian inspired christmas start the christmas season with some joyful carols and songs from monkton school gospel choir hear from ripple effect teams working in africa and pray for the family's ripple effect works alongside in ethiopia to grow a better future maybe you remember the former name of the ripple effect it was send a cow anyway doors open from 6 15 p.m for festive refreshments you can get tickets from their website of ripple effect.org now another reminder canesham edam church's big show big trouble in little bethlehem that's a great show for all the family put on at canesham edam church in balmoral road that's right at one sort of end of canesham almost at the end of park road now on sunday the 10th of december the shows are at 2 30 p.m and 6 30 p.m so why not get a ticket for yourself or for someone else all profits will go to charities here and in romania so do get your ticket there'll be father christmas there too with prezzies and you get your ticket from eventbrite also on sunday the 10th of december there's a very special carol service for children and young people with special needs and their families now this is in st mary's church in tinsbury at 3 p.m now some of our family went along to this special service last year and it was fantastic and last year it had been snowing so the village looked wonderful too it certainly was as they say a relaxed service where young people can move around as much as they need and parents carers do not need to worry if their young people are unable to be quiet in fact the more noise the better there will be light refreshments afterwards there is a toilet in the lovely old church building so do you have someone with special needs in your family or know someone who does who could get to tinsbury on a sunday afternoon if they go along i'm sure they'll love it and we may meet you there now that knitting remember we'll mention it now for the last time do you love to knit the canesham methodist church is involved with the prayer shawl ministry and you can knit them crochet them the shawls you can use your own pattern but if you'd like to get a pattern you can get one from the methodist church office of victoria church centre and a last reminder here st john's church of england school needs you would you be able to spare a little time to help with reading at the school reading volunteers are needed for all the year groups if you think you might be able to help please contact this show in one of the normal ways or contact st john's school directly we've almost finished our hour this week before we play out with faithful one brought to us from kethwick praise let's have the blessing from the memorial service at the park in canesham so goodbye for now goodbye go forth into the world in peace be of good courage hold fast that which is good render to no one evil for evil strengthen the faint-hearted support the weak healthy afflicted honor everyone love and serve the lord rejoicing in the power of the holy spirit and the blessing of god almighty the father the son and the holy spirit spirit be among you and remain with you always amen oh i'm me you oh my hope
