We will continue to keep His family in our prayers, Father God, and comfort them in any way that we can. We pray for all on our prayer list who's either injured or suffering from some sickness, Father God, that You would give us healing. So, Hebrews chapter 7, Hebrews chapter 7 verses 1 and 2, read this for Tim if you don't mind so we can understand who this Mechizedek is talking about. Okay. For this Mechizedek, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being by interpretation king of righteousness, and after that also king of Salem, which is king of peace. All right, continue with verse 3, I'm sorry Tim, continue on with verse 3. Without father, without mother, without descendant, having neither a beginning of days, nor end of life, that made like unto the Son of God, abideth a priest continually. Okay, so we see that Mechizedek, starting in verse 1, is talking about Mechizedek, he was king of Salem, all right, priest of the most high God, so he was a king and a priest at the same time, then it goes on, in verse 2 it states about when he appears in the Old Testament, he met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, then it goes on and lets us know that the name is interpreted as king of righteousness, and after that also king of Salem, which is king of peace, all right, then it goes on and tells us a little more about Mechizedek, it states that he's without father, without mother, without genealogy, so he was a literal man, and I want y'all to know that the only reason he's without father and without mother to us is because his genealogy was never recorded in the Bible, and by purpose it could be that way, all right, and we have no predecessors who precede him after him that forsaken his place of authority of his priesthood, and God designed it to be that way because this is the same order, Christ is the priest after all, no one would dethrone Christ, he would forever reign king and priest until this prison order is over, all right, so as we go on, it states that having neither beginning of days nor end of life, and that's only because his birth nor his death was never recorded for us either in the scriptures, all right, but it states, but made like unto the Son of God, abideth a priest continually, so Jesus is a priest after the order of Melchizedek, it states that Jesus would reign as high priest, Jesus is a priest, a high priest according to the power of an indestructible life, all right, no one would take his priestly place of authority, no one would dethrone him, take his kingship or anything like that, okay, uh, let's see, verse, verse, uh, chapter 27, verse, uh, 24, uh, read that for us, Mrs. Patricia, Hebrews 7, verse 24, okay, but he, because he continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood, all right, so the Old Testament priests, they weren't able to continue by means of death, them priests died, okay, they would die off, they would get old and die off, they would reach a certain age, all right, but Jesus have a continual priesthood, death ain't gonna, he ain't gonna die, he's the priest of an indestructible life, he have an unchangeable priesthood, and God swore with an oath to him to make him a priest after the order of Melchizedek, so we see from Hebrews chapter 7, one through three, that Melchizedek was both king and priest at the same time, he was not Christ, he was literally who the scriptures let us know who he is, all right, now, there's no genealogy of who his mother is, his father, when he was born, nor when he died, uh, now, let's look at two Old Testament accounts about, uh, Melchizedek, so Mrs. Patricia, if you don't mind, would you read again for us, uh, Genesis chapter 14, verses one through ten, okay, I don't know about the nine, they're kind of hard to pronounce, I can't pronounce them all, 14, one through ten, and it came to pass in the days of Amphariel, king of Shammah, Ara, king of Elphah, Herod, Zomar, king of Elam, and Titus, king of nations, that they made war with Baruch, king of Sodom, Bersha, king of Gomorrah, Shinnok, king of Admar, king of Zebulun, and the king of Delah, that is Zoar, all these joined together in the valley of Sodom, that is the south sea, 12 years they served Shaldom Lamar, and in the 13th year they rebelled, in the 14th year Shaldom Lamar, and the kings that were with him, came and attacked Rephraim, and Ashtoreth, and Kelam, and Zildam, and Ham, and Enam, and Sheva, and the Horats, and their mountains, as far as Ephraim, which is by the wilderness, then they back, turned back, and came to Enphes, that is Kadesh, and attacked all the country of the Ammonites, and also the Amorites, who dwelt in Kezaron, Tamar, and the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admar, the king of Zebulun, and the king of Delah, that is Zoar, went out and joined together in battle, in the valley of Sodom, against Shelobot, king of Elam, Piter, king of nations, and Ampharel, king of Shema, and Ara, king of Elisha, four kings against five, now the valley of Sodom was full of asphalt pits, and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some fell, and the remainder fled to the mountains. All right, thank you, so you have right here, that Shabalamar was a king, and 12 years, these other people served him, and in the 13th year, they rebelled, that's what it says right there in verse 4, so basically you have four kings against five, and they're going out to fight in the valley, we see that, okay, and then as we go on, verse 11 through 20, Ms. Deborah. Okay, 11 through 20, then they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their provisions, and went their way. They also took Lot, Abram's brother, brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. Then one who had escaped, came and told Abram the Hebrew, for he dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre, the Amorite brother of Eshtol, and brother of Aner, and they were allies with Abram. Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his 318 trained servants, who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan. He divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them, and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus. So he brought back all the goods, and had brought back his brother Lot, and his goods, as well as the women, and the people. And the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the valley of Shaveh, that is the king's valley, after his return from the defeat of Hedorah Lamar, and the kings who were with him. Then Melchizedek, king of Salem, brought out bread and wine. He was the priest of God Most High, and he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram, of God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hands, and he gave him a tithe of all. All right, thank you. So we have within the ground of those kings, they plundered these cities, and they ended up taking Abraham's nephew, Lot, captive. All right, and one came and told Abram that his nephew basically was kidnapped. So Abram armed himself with his trained servants in his house, and he went out to go back and capture his nephew, and defeated those people who had him, you know, defeated the kings that had his nephew. So Abraham not only brought back his nephew, but in verse 16, it states that he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. All right, so Abraham basically went and slaughtered Kedolamah, all right, and the kings that was with him. All right, and then on his way back from the slaughter of the kings, like Hebrews 7 has just warned us about, this is when he met Melchizedek, and it states in verse 18 that Melchizedek, king of Salem, wrote for bread and wine, and he was the priest of the Most High God. So Melchizedek is both a king and a priest. As we read, this is who Melchizedek was. He was a king and a priest of the Most High God, and it states there, and he blessed him, and said, bless thee Abram of the Most High God, possessor of heaven and earth. Now you remember in Hebrews, it told us the less is blessed of the better, so Melchizedek was actually Abram's superior. So Abram knows this, and knows that Melchizedek is God's representative, so Abram decided to give tithes of all to Melchizedek, what it states in verse 20, and blessed be the Most High God which hath delivered thy enemies into thy hand, and he gave him tithes of all. Now that word tithe means a tenth, so Abram gave him a tenth of all that he had. He paid tithes to him, all right. So now, so who was Melchizedek? Like I stated, some speculate that he was Christ. Some say he was the Holy Spirit, an angel, or even some personage like Shem or Enoch. But we know nothing more than what the scripture says, that he's been a long and unique. His name means king of righteousness. Salem means peace. So Christ, like Melchizedek, is at once both king and priest, and reigns on the throne of David as prince of peace. That's what Christ does right now. So Christ is our high priest, and he's our king, and he's a high priest and king after the order of this man that we just read about and learned more about who he is, and that is Melchizedek, all right. And one other place that Melchizedek is mentioned in the Old Testament, and it's basically a prophecy referring to the Messiah. That's all it is. Psalms 110 verse 4. What did you read that for, John? Yes, Psalms 110 verse 4. Yes, sir. The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind, you are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek. All right, so that's a prophecy referring to Christ, showing how that he's going to be a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek, all right. So Christ is not a priest according to a fleshly commandment, an earthly commandment, because if he was on earth, he could not be a priest. He could not be a priest. If he was on earth, he could not be a king on the summer sprint day. This oath said that Christ will be a priest after the order of Melchizedek. Now on earth, you cannot be both king and priest according to that fleshly commandment, according to that Old Testament system that God had his people bound upon them, all right. You cannot reign as both king and priest. So Christ was a priest after the order of Melchizedek. So that's how he gets to reign, both king and priest. It's not according to the Levitical priesthood, that Old Testament. So we want to look at also more about Abraham. Now Christ did have his descent from a lot of kings, you know, as such as the family lineage of David, you know, but if he was going to be a priest and a king at the same time, then, you know, the order of the priesthood had to be changed. He couldn't be a high priest after the order of Adam. It had to be after the order of Melchizedek in order to fulfill the prophecy about himself. So we want to look at more about who Abraham was now. Abraham is the great-grandfather of Levi, you know, so basically all the nation of Israel, we can kind of like say descended from Abraham, all right? They're descendants of Abraham. So the Levitical priesthood, all that got its ties all the way back into Abraham, a man of faith whom God chose for himself and decided to bring blessings upon the whole world through Abraham's seed, which is Christ. Now God made promises to this Abraham, okay? Abraham was the son of Terah, all right? Now Abraham's father and all these people really a descendant of Noah and Noah's son, all right, when they left the ark, okay? And then you have this long genealogy in Genesis chapter 11 where you can trace back Abraham's genealogy and know that he's the son of Terah, right there in 11 verse 27, all right? Okay. And then in verse chapter 12 of Genesis, read Genesis chapter 12. Who we got? We just had John. Is Todd back on? I'm here. All right. You want to read Genesis chapter 12 verses 1 through 3? Now the Lord said to Abraham, go forth from your country and from your relatives and from your father's house to the land I will show you. And I will make you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great. And so you shall be blessed. And I will bless those who bless you and the ones who curse you, I will curse. And then you have one minute remaining. All the families of the earth will be blessed. All right. So God chooses one man of faith, Abraham, and he tells Abraham to leave his country and leave his country and leave his father's house and go to a land that God is going to show him. All right. And in verse 2 it says, and I will make them be a great nation. So God promises Abraham to make them out a great nation. All right. And they later, Abraham's descendants later growed into a great nation down in Egypt. These are the same people that Moses led through the Red Sea, which is the nation of Israel. And then the scripture says all Christians are not considered to be the Israel of God. So it's all a part of this promise that God made to Abraham. He was a patriarch. All right. He was one of the forefathers. And God told him, I will bless thee and make that name great. So God promised Abraham a great name. Thank you for using Global Telelink. Well, we're waiting on Charles to call back. We look at a couple of things about Abraham. Abraham was considered the father of all the Jews and like he just read from Galatians 3.26 or mentioned Galatians 3.26. Today, Christians are considered descendants of Abraham because we have obeyed Christ. Galatians 3.26-29 says, for you all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for as many as you were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There's neither Jew nor Greek, there's neither slave nor free, there's neither male nor female, for you're all one in Christ Jesus. And if you're Christ, then you're Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise. Now, Abraham was many years before Moses and the Israelites were in Egyptian captivity and were led out of Egyptian captivity. But that was a fulfillment of one of the promises that had been made to Abraham. He had promised him, God had promised him that he would give him, he would make him a great nation, which he did. His descendants were in Egypt. They came into the millions. Charles, you're back. So, he's, that promise was fulfilled. Then later on, after the Israelites had rebelled and God made they took the land of Canaan. And so that was the fulfillment of the promise of the land. And then after Christ came, was crucified and raised again, when we obey him in baptism, then we become, we're fulfilling that last promise. Christ has fulfilled that last promise in him, but we each fulfill it when we're baptized into Christ and we put on Christ. And there's no longer any division. He says, neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male or female. The world wants us to be divided. They want us to divide black folks from white folks, make us hate each other. They want to divide the rich from the poor, make us hate each other. They want to divide us in all different kinds of ways. Thank you for using global telelink. So, there's Charles back. That's the way God wants it to be. He doesn't want all these divisions that we have. Our politicians split us in divisions and they use hate, hatred to gather their own power. But if we fulfill this promise to Abraham by being baptized into Christ, then we should put off hate and actually be one in Christ. When we sit down to worship together, then we're all brothers and sisters. We're all equal in Him. It's not that we might not have different roles to fulfill within the church or within the family, but in God's eyes, we are equal. So, that was the fulfillment of the promise. The Jews, a lot of them still today are still looking for Abraham's promise to be fulfilled. They don't believe in Jesus. They don't believe that he was the Messiah, that he was the fulfillment of that promise. But they're still looking for an earthly kingdom, one that will be set up on the earth with a literal Messiah reigning in a literal Jerusalem and reigning over the whole world. Also, a lot of denominations make the same mistake. If you listen to preachers on the radio or something like that, they're going to talk to you about the rapture. They're going to talk about you coming back, Jesus coming back and reigning on earth a thousand years and all of these things. And yet, what they're missing is that this is already fulfilled, that the kingdom is here with us now. If we've been baptized into Christ and he's added us to his church, he's made us a part of his kingdom, he's made us priests, a part of his priesthood right now, today, because it's a spiritual priesthood. When Pilate stood before, I mean, when Jesus stood before Pilate, he told him, my kingdom is not of this world. If it were this world, then my servants would fight. And they would have fought if Jesus took a military attitude and they would have fought. Is that Charles? Yeah, I'm back. Okay. Okay. Go ahead, Charles. Where y'all left off, man? You gave another verse to read or what? I don't know, Charles. Just pick up where you left. All right. So, we left off of Genesis chapter 12, verse 1 through 3, this red deck. And what I was planning was that Abraham is the patriarch to whom God made the promises. He promised him to make him a great nation. He promised to give him a great name. And he promised him that through his seed, which is Christ, that all the families of the earth was going to be blessed. So, Abraham received these promises from God. And, you know, God fulfilled all of these promises have been fulfilled. Now, during Abraham's time, if you pay attention to Pilate's promise, but mostly the spiritual blessings. All right. Now, Christ, which is his spiritual seed, well, it's the one through whom the blessing came as far as all the families of the earth being blessed. That part of the promise right now has already been fulfilled. And it still is happening this day for all who will receive Christ as a person of safety. But God promised Abraham land, a name, and he promised him a seed, you know, who was going to be the one who blessed all the families of the earth. So that's who Abraham is. Abraham is also referred to a lot of scriptures being called the friend of God, you know, but let's just look at Isaiah 51 verse 2. The last one to read was this time. So, John, if you look at Isaiah 51 verse 2, I'll read that for you. Isaiah 51 verse 2. Look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah who bore you. For he was but one when I called him that I might bless him and multiply him. All right. Abraham also is called a friend of God in scripture. Tim, could you look at 2 Chronicles 20 verse 74? Okay. And that's 2 Chronicles. Chapter 20, verse 7. Okay. And it reads, are not thou our God who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land of this land before thy people Israel and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend forever. All right. So, the scripture is called Abraham, God's friend. Our last two scriptures to read, one will be Isaiah 41 verse 8. Mr. Tricia, could you repeat that for us? Okay. Isaiah 41 verse 8. Okay. It says, but you, Israel, are my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the descendants of Abraham, my friend. All right. Ms. Deborah, could you flip over and read James chapter 2, verse 23 for us? It's our last scripture for today. James chapter 2, verse 24. 23, I'm sorry. Verse 23. James chapter 2, verse 23. And the scripture was fulfilled that said, Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness and he was called a friend of God. All right. Amen. So, Abraham was also called a friend of God. So, Abraham is the forefather. He was one of the patriarchs. He's a part of that patriarchal period in our Bibles. This is before the Old Testament came before us, when God called Abraham and promised him blessings. And a part of that blessing was that his seed was going to be the one through whom all the families of the earth will be blessed. And that seed is Christ Jesus. That seed has come. He has died on the cross and his testament has come before us. He's running as both king and high priest right now today. And the only way to be a part of this kingdom is if we obey what he left for us in his last will and testament. We're all bound up under this new testament. So, we all must give careful thoughts to the things that's been left therein. And anybody got any thoughts or questions or anything of that nature? Well, I'll just clarify that all the three promises to Abraham have been fulfilled with the final one still being fulfilled when people obey Christ. But the land was given to him. He was made a great nation. And if you read, look at the stuff that's been posted on social media a lot now. You see all of these lists of the times that the Jews were taken into captivity and returned back to the land and all that. But what they fail to say is the reason that they were taken into captivity was because of their sin. And his promise of the land was conditional, just like our promise of salvation is conditional. So, they were given the land, but they were taken away because of sin. And today we're given salvation, but it can be taken away because of our sin. So, it's there for an example to us, but people are completely ignoring the importance of the great example. The Israel that we see today is a political creation of man. It's not the creation of God, as some would think or want to claim. I'm not saying that it's wrong to support the Israel of today being an ally of the United States, but we should realize that it is just a political creation of man. And one of the primary reasons that it was created by the United Nations was because of discrimination against the Jews. None of the nations, including the United States, would accept the Jewish refugees. So, that was the solution that they came up with and the United Nations came up with after World War II was to create the nation of what we call the nation of Israel, but it's not the Israel of the Bible. It's a political nation, just like the United States is a political nation or any other, most other nations today. That's all I have to say. Well, I'm just going to hang me up. This is totally going to log me out in less than a minute. So, I'm going to go here with a closing prayer about us helping each other. Okay, would you pray for me, please? Mankind, righteous and holy Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Dear Father, we thank you for bringing us together this morning to study from your word. Dear Father, we thank you for our child and his leadership in this study this morning. Thank you, dear Father, that you've given us the strength and ability, dear Father, to read and understand your message to us, and we know that your word is truth, dear Father, and it has told us that Jesus is our king and priest and that there's no one above him, dear Father, and we pray that we would understand this and listen to Christ and follow his commands as they are written to us, dear Father, that we may have salvation and have a home in heaven one day with you. We thank you, Father, for blessing us to live here in this country where we enjoy all the many freedoms and the safeties that we do, dear Father. We just pray that we would never take for granted our freedom, dear Father, as we look around the world and all the many wars and struggles that are going on where people are fighting each other and destruction is going on everywhere, dear Father. We just pray that we would focus our minds, dear Father, on the things that pertain to you, dear Father, that pertain to the kingdom of Christ that is free from all these things, dear Father, that are happening and that we focus our mind on taking the good news, dear Father, of the gospel to those that are in darkness and those that need to come out of the darkness into the light, and we pray, dear Father, that hearts and minds are pricked, dear Father, by the word of Christ and the kingdom of Christ will continue to grow in number and grow in strength. We thank you, dear Father, for blessing us that we have you as our God and Father, and we just pray that you will lead us into this day, dear Father, and lead our footsteps in the way that we should go, and we pray, Father, that you would be with all those that are homeless, those who are widows and orphans, dear Father, at this time. We just pray for a place of care for them, dear Father, that they can carry on in their life. We pray, dear Lord, that you would just be with us now, and as we separate, bring us back together again at the next appropriate time. So we love you, dear Father, in all that you mean to us in every way, for this and all things. We pray in the holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, amen.
