Today's Zoom technology class will cover app shortcuts. The speaker will explore pre-set shortcuts and demonstrate how to create a shortcut. They will also discuss the layout of the shortcuts app and offer tips for navigating it. They mention various shortcuts they have set up and explain how each one works. They mention the potential for more complex shortcuts with multiple actions. The speaker also discusses the ability to customize gestures and warns about the potential complications that can arise from changing them. They give examples of shortcuts for different apps and explain how to modify and customize shortcuts. They also mention the limitations of certain apps and discuss the potential for future improvements. Today's Zoom technology class will be overviewing the app shortcuts, the main window of the application. I have a few shortcuts set up already, so I'm going to explore that. We're going to explore beginner shortcuts also that are already there for you to run. And we're going to explore making a shortcut, but we're going to mostly work for people that are beginners with the application because it can get overbearing once you start making your own shortcuts, and you have so many different options. I can do some basic shortcuts. I can probably show one. So we'll do a quick one just so you guys can see how we assemble one. Let's take a look at the main part of the shortcuts app. So we're going to start from the top left and scrolling to the right so we can get an overall view of the application, guys. Also in this application, feel free to explore with your finger, move around because you have text fields and library fields where you can enter text and stuff like that, and sometimes voiceover is that I've been getting through a long list, and these text fields are usually above or right above the tabs. Okay. So we're going to explore. So you also have folders for shortcuts. Right now I'm in my all folders. This is where I have them all at. I will tap to edit. Swipe up for now. Dictate. Button. Take video. Two actions. Button. Let's chat. Thirteen actions. Button. Swipe up. Skip back. No actions. Button. Skip forward. No actions. Button. Copy and double. Use a click. Add actions. Button. Let me hear. Swipe again. Instagram song. Four actions. Button. Okay. So when you hear Instagram song, it's going to do what that says. It's going to Instagram songs. But in order to do that, it has four steps or actions it has to take. Let's explore the shortcut. And now we'll come back once I get done with the bottom list that we're still exploring. We're going to go into one of these shortcuts. So you have to get an overview on how it's set up. And there is shortcuts that could go up to 18 different actions. Okay. So it could get overwhelming. And I will show you that too. But let's continue. Adding image. Starting shortcuts. Heading. Starting shortcuts. Heading. Add button. Take a break. 13 actions. Button. Backslash image. Two actions. Dinner. Ration. Title. Boom. Pop-up. Pop-up. Pop-up. Dinner. Pop. Eat. Chat. Read. Welcome back. If I want to create an action with that note, meaning let's say if I make any changes, you could send it out. You know how we got note collaboration now? So you can collaborate with notes and actually probably get a duplicate your copy just in case you want to make edits. And then you want to go back to the original one that you're that you're make those changes. But there's so many different shortcuts that you could do. So let's continue. I'm going to try to go a little faster so we won't be here for a long time. Let's get to the reminders. And this list goes for a long time, guys. So let's check it out. I have over 100 applications. So I'm going to have a long list. So a lot of applications have shortcuts. One that I have not really seen, it's Be My Eye. I was trying to set up a shortcut that I just do with a gesture, take a picture. And then with that picture, automatically start describing with Be My Eyes, you know, and then get that description. And actually also save the photo to your Photos app for later. But you could set up, take a photo, describe it, then send photo and a text message. You could probably even add description if you copy and paste because you got actions to if I copy this, what's the next action? You could set up the next action. Once I copy this text after this previous action, this is within those shortcuts that you're setting up. You could say, once I copy this onto the clipboard, open messages, and it could open messages with the photo and then you could just paste the description and send it out. So let's say you wanted a big kid to set up a shortcut that would send you a picture, the person you're with, or your group. And every time you run the shortcut and it's taking pictures, you're sending out all those pictures. Or you could set up a shortcut that when you take a picture, it will post it into a shared photo album that you have with someone or a favorites album or set as favorites. Like you could automate certain tasks. And you got Spectrum Access. For those that don't know, that's Spectrum's accessibility app for descriptive audio. So you have so many different apps. So just by pressing one of these shortcuts, it will open, like, let's say I'm on create button from TikTok. If I press the shortcut, it just threw me into create a video or short. Instead of opening TikTok, it loaded up that thing and you got to scroll to the button, then tap creation. And then, you know, instead of that, you could just have that shortcut on your home screen or a gesture. But that could get complicated. And I'm not going to go too much into the gestures and shortcuts because you can change your shortcuts by mistake, your gestures, and then you may not be able to navigate certain things on your phone. Certain gestures are not able to be changed, like the swipe gestures and, you know, the magic tab. Or the magic tab, you can't change it. But certain basic gestures will not be implemented in the shortcuts app. But you can get yourself all thrown around messing with those gestures. But that will be in a further class. So we're going to scroll to the top. So I'm going to roll back over here. I'm going to show you a basic shortcut and then I'm going to show you a shortcut that sometimes I think it goes over my head and I'm trying to figure it out myself. So I'm going to edit the first one I got. And this is a simple one I made very fast. This shortcut is also a shortcut that you can add to your shortcuts library for yourself. Pop up button. Take video with back camera. Swipe up, remove action from shortcut button. Save to photo album. Dragable. Show options menu. Button. Save video to recents. Swipe up, remove action from shortcut button. Actions. Action suggestions button. Heading. Yeah. Yeah, sorry, guys, for my internet connection. I wonder what's going on there. But you saw, well, you heard. Those were two actions that the shortcut is going to run. So I'm going to go over what you could do to modify these for yourself. Okay. So being on the DOM button, swiping to the right, you will get to the first item, the first action in your shortcut. So swipe to the right. Move down. Move up. Activate default. Okay. So if you have your swipe up and down, your actions, you can move this up or down within your shortcut. You don't have to double tap and drag your finger up and all this other stuff. Okay. So remember, even this app has actions you can do that will make it easier for us being completely blind to arrange these because sometimes it can lead up to 18, 19 different steps when you're trying to create a shortcut. But most shortcuts are going to be basic, guys, like this one. I double tap there. And show info will tell you the detail of the shortcut and what it does. Favorite button. Duplicate button. Copy button. And those are the other options. Like, for example, you want to copy this and then you send out a message and maybe you want to take another picture after the message gets sent. It goes back into the camera and take another picture and sends it back out to that person too. So kind of use your imagination. There is some limitations. Certain apps are not still supported. I want it to be my eyes app. But maybe one day. Maybe one day. So I'm going to dismiss. Okay. And that's the actions menu. You could move it up. You could copy it. You could delete it. And then if you swipe to the right. Okay. That's the next one. Right there you could do your rotor action. Swipe down. All right. So if you double tap on that. So you have three options. To ask front or back. I'm going to keep it on back. Just because this is my shortcut. And once that's done. And I run the shortcut. Let me show you guys. We're going to cancel out. That's done. We're going to run this. It is pretty simple. I just said open camera. It's going to say open camera. And it's going to tell you pick video mode. So just to get it out the way too. So let's run it. And you heard that. Just by running my two fingers down. It already recorded a video. And it's recording right away. And if I press stop. There the video is done. I could retake. Play or use video. So however you have the shortcut. Once you click this use video. If you message right after that. It's going to open up the message. And if you have sent the message to those contacts already. It will send out that picture. So let's say for example. You have your sighted family right. You set this out. You do the shortcut. It's going to take a picture or video. And you have the family members. That you would like to send this thing out to. For them to describe or tell you how this look. Or whatever it may be. So once you sent it out. They could send you back the message. Oh yeah that outfit looks good. Like for the ladies or the fellows. But this could come in friendly for the ladies. That want to match up or something. And want to have a photo sent out. And then you know get the family react or however it may be. So it already did that. So I'm going to get out of here. Go back. And I want to show you another part. Before we're done. But I'm going to create a quick shortcut. So we're going to start. Well let me show you. I'm sorry guys. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. I'm on. The search field is right there. So you can search for all this stuff. So let's explore right now. I'm sorry. I got my connection again. And that's all of it right there. All that's the screen right now. Our shortcut is empty. All right. And then from above, add action suggestions is where we're going to add our shortcut. When we swipe left from here, you have your add action button. And then from above, you have your add action button. So remember, the bottom half of the screen does pop out when you're activating the library and search for these shortcuts. So you could have it half screen. You could make it full screen. So if you may be setting up one, just remember that. You might have to shrink down the library. What? Let me. Yeah. Okay. Here we go. As I heard, it's minimized. You could expand it to half screen. You could expand it to full screen. But remember, to get back to your shortcut, you will have to shrink down those screens. Do not press the done or close button because it will cancel out the shortcut. So it can be confusing. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Okay, guys. And if you paid attention, it maximized it to full screen. To get out this screen, you will have to minimize this screen to exit out back to where the shortcut steps are at. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
