Akwaaba is a piece written on a six-beat pulse as typically used in black Africa. This piece exploits a sustained interaction between the drums, the tuba and the midi sequencer. The saxophone and the flugelhorn interpret the melody in canon while the improvisations modulate in the mode of A dorian.
