Influenced by the music of Miles Davis, Impasse nevertheless owes a lot of its sound to electronic music’s composers. This piece is a reflection of the existential anguish that characterizes our society. Played over an ostinato rhythm established by the drums and a guitar tuned a fifth lower than standard tuning, the trombone, the trumpet and the saxophone develop an improvisation made with melodic and timbral variations of the material performed by the sequencer.
