Now here's your host, Dr. Faye. As we continue here in this month, and this is our final topic for this month under our main topic, Navigating Change with Faith, where so many of you have celebrated the shifts and the changes that you are experiencing in your life through these brief encounters with Faith Alive in 5. And this week, we are focusing in on embracing new beginnings with faith. Embracing new beginnings rather than repelling them and being afraid of them, but actually embracing them. In Isaiah 43 and 19, the Bible says, Behold, I will do a new thing. Now it shall spring forth. Shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. How beautiful is that? If you've ever stood at crossroads in life, unsure which path to take, maybe you're considering a career change, a new relationship, or simply feel a nudge to step outside of your comfort zone. I know I speak of that a lot, getting out of your comfort zone. New beginnings can be exciting, filled with endless possibilities, but let's be honest, they can also be scary, leaving us feeling lost and unsure like Dorothy and Oz. Life is a journey and it's filled with constant change. A few years ago, I came to Arkansas because my mom was sick, very, very sick, and I was looking for a change anyway, but it wasn't that change, and I came back expecting to be with my mom, and when she passed away, I was expecting to leave Arkansas, to go back to Atlanta, and I had lived in metro areas most of my adult life, so country living was far from me, but this is where my mom was, this is where my dad is, and it's where some of my siblings are. This constant, this idea of change, it was, there was so much uncertainty about what was next for me after my mom passed, and circumstances outlined by God allowed me to still be here today, and let me tell you folks, I wouldn't live any other place, but there was a lot of uncertainty. These transitions were daunting opportunities, or opportunities, and I just didn't know what was going to happen, but I found out that this was an opportunity for growth and expansion, unlike anything that I had ever imagined before. When you think about the seed that's nestled in the earth, and we plant a seed, we plant a thought, we plant an idea, it can't bloom until it cracks open its shell, and there were things that needed to be cracked open in me, there were things that I did not even know that I had talents and gifts or drive to do until I was made aware of them. New beginnings are like that crack in a shell, a chance for something beautiful to emerge, and for those of us who believe there's a source of comfort amidst all of this change, our faith, the Bible tells us that in Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, which is one of my favorite passages, and it may be one of yours as well, and you may have others, but it says, trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding, and all of your ways acknowledge him, that means submit to him, surrender to him, and he will make your path straight, he will certainly do it for you, he's done it for me, he has done it for so many others, God's love and faithfulness are a constant, like a steady anchor in a stormy sea, aren't you glad that you've got a shelter you can go to when there's troubled all around? These teachings are just to give you something to hold on to during the week, when you feel as though things are slipping away, and you have uncertainty, I want you to take a deep breath, and realize that's God's breath breathing through you, it's on loan, it's not yours, it's on loan, and God is breathing through you because he has a purpose for you, will you remember that this week?
