The speaker encourages listeners to meditate on God's word and make a quality decision to move out of their comfort zones with courage. Welcome to Faith Alive in 5, the 5-minute gospel. Now here's your host, Dr. Faye. Have you ever been told that it's time to step out of your comfort zone? Stepping out of your comfort zone requires a lot of faith, y'all. When you have been used to doing the same old thing in the same old way with the same old people day in and day out, it becomes boring, a bit mundane, doesn't it? But stepping out of your comfort zone is something that God called Joshua to do. In the book of Joshua, we come on the scene where God is saying to Joshua, Moses, my servant, is dead. He's gone. Why did God make that announcement? It appears that Joshua and the children of Israel were used to Moses vacationing, taking a break from them, and going off and then coming back. But this time Moses was not coming back. He was dead for real. And he said, so I want you to be of good courage. I want you, Joshua, to be strong and of good courage because it's time for you to take the leadership. It's time for you to take the reins that Moses had. You now are the leader. So in Joshua 1 and 9, he says, have I not commanded you be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go and will be with you wherever you go. This week in our series of overcoming fear with faith, we focus in on stepping out of your comfort zone with courage. You see, when we step out of our comfort zones, it requires courage and trust in God's presence. Proverbs 3, 5, and 6 says, trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Lean not unto your own understanding, but in all of your ways acknowledge him. He will direct your path. So in Joshua 1 and 9, it encourages us to be strong and courageous. When we trust God, we can step out of our comfort zone. We'll start being mobilized, doing the thing that we have been afraid to do in order to get the thing that we want to get. Because God is with us. Not only is God with us, God is within us. Hello somebody, Amen Church. God is within us. Whether it's pursuing your new career or a relationship, starting a ministry or business, or making those significant life changes, those shifts in your life. Stepping out in faith allows you to grow. Somebody say grow. As you go, you will grow. If you don't go, you won't grow. You've got to do something because faith without corresponding action is dead. Stepping out of your comfort zone with courage. By embracing courage and rejecting fear, you can continue to pursue your dreams and make a lasting impact. As long as you remain where you are, honey, you're not going to get to where you need to go. If you were headed to New York, you can't get there by standing still in one zip code. You got to be willing to pack, get on the plane. You don't even have to pack. Get your get your ticket, get on the plane and go. Or get your car, get gassed up. You got to head north. You got to be willing to make the steps to move forward. Stepping out of your comfort zone, moving into new territory. Joshua had to get out of his comfort zone. He was used to being the follower and co-leader in the group. He had to report to Moses. Now he's having to report to God. That was a major shift for him. So God said it to him again to be strong and of good courage. He said, listen, you got to meditate on my word day and night so that you can do what there was written in and you can make your way prosperous and you can have this success if you meditate. That means do what I'm telling you to do. Hear the voice of God from within, my friend, because God is being God through you. He was being God there with Joshua and he's being God there with you and I don't want you to ever forget that. This is your moment.
