The Alberta government is hiring three new positions at the Alberta Court of Justice to ensure timely access to justice. They created four new positions in 2022 and three more in 2023. The process involves applications being considered by the Alberta Judicial Council, who make recommendations to the Alberta Judicial Nominating Committee. The committee then makes recommendations to the Minister of Justice and ultimately to the Cabinet. Lawyers with at least 10 years of experience can apply. To ensure timely access to justice, the Alberta government is filling three positions at the Alberta Court of Justice, two in Edmonton and one in the Central Region. The Alberta government created four new judicial positions for the Alberta Court of Justice in 2022 and added three more positions in 2023, for a total of 143 justice positions. Applications are first considered by the Alberta Judicial Council, which makes recommendations to the Alberta Judicial Nominating Committee.
