Walking in the Holy Spirit, or staying in step with the Spirit, is a fundamental aspect of Christian life. It represents a journey of faith, a path of continual growth and spiritual development. Here are some reasons why it’s important: 1. Guidance and Direction The Holy Spirit provides guidance and direction in our lives. As we walk in the Spirit, we are led by the Spirit, helping us make decisions that align with God’s will and purpose for our lives. 2. Empowerment The Holy Spirit empowers u

The speaker discusses the importance of being led by the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to guide and move us in our lives. They emphasize that this guidance is not limited to pastors or leaders, but is for every believer. The Holy Spirit may nudge us to speak certain words or take certain actions in order to impact others' lives. The speaker also mentions the need to surrender to the Holy Spirit and rely on the holiness of Christ, rather than trying to be holy in our own strength. Plates in a way like he never has before or maybe getting back to what he has before But he wants to move by the power of his Holy Spirit. He wants to lead us. He wants to guide us He wants to direct us in a way that will bring us into a greater revelation of his power and his strength He wants to come with healing. He wants to come with victory. He wants to come with provision He wants to lift up those that are downcast he wants to Humble those that are exalted. He wants to come and he wants to do a work in this place By the power of his Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit does want to come and minister in this place God doesn't have it the praises of his people and we want to pave a way for him I guess this morning if you'll turn with me to 2nd Peter chapter 1 in 2nd Peter chapter 1 I Want to look at just a brief section of Scripture That sometimes we may Misunderstand what God wants to do in the church Misunderstand what he wants to do in our in our hearts in our lives and how he goes about it and in 2nd Peter chapter 1 We're going to start with verse 20 and we'll look at verse 20 and 21 Above all you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophets own interpretation For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man Move over here, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit and the aspect of this that I want to look at is the fact that the men of God were Carried along by the Holy Spirit the men of God were carried along by the Holy Spirit are moved By the Holy Spirit and you know, we look at a portion of Scripture like this and we think about well They're talking about the inspired Word of God about how these men were wrote the Word of God wrote the Word of God and and of course these men were moved along by the Holy Spirit because they were writing Scripture that we Consider infallible that we can we consider the very Word of God and so they would have to have been moved along by the Holy Spirit but God wants to move in each and every one of our lives by the power of our Holy by the power of the Holy Spirit He wants to move us all along. He wants to be there in the words that we say and the things that we do We know from what we've studied in the past that we are all prophets to God Not in the sense that we are going to go around Speaking things that are inspired that need to be added to the Bible and we need to have an extra appendix so that we can Walk around and write thus saith the Lord that he said through us And so now we'll add it to the Bible as some have or have another Testament of Jesus Christ as the Mormons do or something like that But there is an aspect of which God wants to carry us by the power of the Holy Spirit We sing that song this morning. There is a river that flows from deep within there The Holy Spirit is a river that wants to carry us along He wants to sweep over us and he wants to move us He wants to lead us in the areas and and often when we think about the leadership of the Holy Spirit And how God will will move in our lives and how he will lead us and he will guide us We we often have this misconception that that's for the evangelist That's for the pastor. That's for the missionary. They need to be moved by the Holy Spirit. They need to be guided by the Holy Spirit They're the ones that have to know how to approach someone and talk to them They're the ones that have to know how to lift somebody up. That's downcast They're the ones that know I have to know all these things. It's not for us We just go and we enjoy it as they move are moved upon by the Holy Spirit We just go in and listen what they say and say amen and then go home and do what we've always done It's for them to do it and but that's the wrong conception of the idea of being moved by the Holy Spirit of being led by the Holy Spirit the power of the Holy Spirit see that's for Each and every one of us as believers for the Holy Spirit to come in our lives To move us to guide us to direct us And so we need to be able to learn how to let the Holy Spirit guide us in areas of our lives And and sometimes we think about the idea of guidance of the Holy Spirit We have this idea of well, there has to be dreams and visions There has to be an audible voice that shakes the roof and then well Then we'll know that that's what God wants us to do. But that's not the way he normally moves in our lives There's a nudging I I believe brother Feller mentioned it in the Sunday school class this morning that nudging that comes From the Holy Spirit and you know, sometimes we may falsely label it. We may say It's an intuition or we may say it's a feeling or we may say something like that Falsely label it but there's the nudging that comes from the Holy Spirit in guiding us and things to say and things to do Betty was sharing with me this morning. She had to talk to some people she felt the Holy Spirit leading her to talk to some people that were doing some things that they shouldn't be doing and and She was trying to help these people and they were continuing to do these things and continuing to do these things and she felt the Holy Spirit finally come and say to her that she had to confront him on that and say listen I can't help you if you're not going to take steps to do what's right with God It was very difficult for her to do that because she has a desire to help people But yet she knows that as long as they're continuing in sin that God's not going to bless them and they're trying to be blessed By God, but and yet still live in sin So the Holy Spirit was leading her into doing that thing and and sometimes that's the way he does it It's just it's just the words that we say and sometimes it can be grievous for us because we think well But Lord, that's not what I want to tell him and sometimes it can be very joyous for us because we think oh lord It's great. We can tell him these positive things and we can lift him up, but we have to be sensitive to the way God's leading us sometimes it may just be in a Telephone conversation with a family member or a loved one and it may even be something We've said to him a hundred times in the past, but yet we see we feel this nudging inside of us We feel this with this leading of the Holy Spirit and it doesn't mean you're going to get goosebumps up and down your spine It doesn't mean your hair is going to stand up It doesn't mean you're going to shake and you're you're going to quiver in your lips and you're going to suddenly start speaking in tongues But it's just it's a nudging of the Holy Spirit and it may be to say some words that we said before but this time The Holy Spirit has an opening that's going to penetrate their heart this time. It's going to affect them this time It's going to do what God has always wanted to do in their lives and finally they're ready for it And so we have to have that sensitivity That willingness that ability to move in the power of the Holy Spirit to let him move us along in our lives I remember when I was in college up in Minneapolis, Minnesota A friend of mine and I went to Minnehaha Falls Kind of a funny name Minnehaha Falls. Sylvia went there with me once. Very beautiful. It's a beautiful Falls that comes down I don't know about 70 feet or so and then it becomes a little rapids, you know And not a real wide river, but it's a little rapids and so we were out there playing in it kind of running in the rapids and Fighting against the stream and having fun with that and then we thought well Let's stop fighting against the stream and we'd lay down in it and let the water carry us over the rocks And it was real fun, except when you kind of hit the bottom of a rock and almost break your leg But fortunately God protected us, but but it was a lot of fun Just kind of letting that river just carry us along and carry us along and that's what we have to do with the Holy Spirit It just let him carry us along. It doesn't matter. You know, we can walk out into the water That's one thing but if we're still standing there on our own feet standing there on our own straight and resisting what the Holy Spirit wants to do That's not enough. We need to just jump in and let him carry us along Let him sweep us down to where he wants us to go Let him do the work and that's what it was We were letting the river do the work and carrying us down the down that falls and carrying us down that rapids And and that's what we need to do with the Holy Spirit. Let him do the work in our lives Let him do the leading in our lives. Let him carry us to where he wants us to do And that's something for every one of us Want you to know that the Holy Spirit wants to move in every one of our lives He wants us he wants to be able to move us along He wants to be able to guide us and we just need to be sensitive to that and let him do that I know one of the things we think about when we think about the power of the Holy Spirit moving in our lives And we we think about surrendering to him and letting him do that. We think Well, yeah, that's that sounds real good pastor. That sounds real good preacher But you know God's holy and he's only going to move in holy people We're not we're not holy enough to be moved upon by the Holy Spirit We're not holy enough to to let him do the work in our lives and in Colossians chapter 1 verse 21 and 22 Colossians 1 21 says Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body Through death to present you holy in his sight without blemish and free from accusation If you continue in your faith established and firm not moved from the hope held out in the gospel And here we see that the holiness that in Colossians that he's talking about is the holiness that comes from Christ It's the holiness that comes from having faith in him. It's a holiness by relying on his holiness We know that we cannot have holiness in and of ourselves You know when we we think of holiness we think of the Holy Spirit The Bible says be ye holy for I am holy and we think God we can't do that. I've tried to be holy I've tried to live a good life and so often I've stumbled so often I failed and thank God his mercy there is grace. He picks us up We may be downcast, but we're not forsaken. We need we may fall down, but we're not going to be abandoned by him Well, yeah, we think what does this mean that we have to be holy like you are a holy God How can we ever live up to the standard of holiness that you have and we think about never sinning never doing anything wrong And we try to move toward that and certainly that should be our goal That should be our desire. We should have that in our lives to want to live that kind of holy life But God is going to pour out a spirit on our lives if we are holy in that we are Separated to God is another aspect of holiness the fact that we have consecrated our lives to say that we are God's Work we are God's temple. We are for God's glory and not for our own We're going we are going to move forward with what God wants to do in our lives And we are not going to move forward with what we want to do We're going to move forward with what God wants to do and that's the kind of holiness That we are called for in the Bible. We should strive toward the perfect kind of life We should strive for living a sinful life sinless life But we realize that we're not going to attain that until we were really in heaven in his presence That's when the true glory of that's going to be revealed when there's going to be no more sin there There's going to be no more dying there. There's going to be no more sickness there There's going to be no more pain there but in this life what we can do to aid in the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives that we can do to Aid in the moving of the Holy Spirit of our lives is to have a commitment to him that we are his in His alone have that commitment in our hearts and in our lives that no matter what happens We are committed to him and to his word and if someone says that something is right if someone says that something is wrong But it goes against what the Bible says we will stand up upon the Word of God and say no That is not right. The Bible says it is wrong No, that is not wrong The Bible says it is right and always stand upon the Word of God always be consecrated to his work and to his way And sometimes like what Betty was talking about this morning. Sometimes it's grievous Sometimes it's hard when you have to talk to somebody about areas in their life where they're missing God But that is a benefit to them because it gives them that opportunity for repentance It gives them that opportunity to get right with God and we have to be able to stand upon the Word of God We have to be consecrated to the Word of God and say I will do what God wants to do And not what I want to do I will do what God wants to do and not what my denomination says I have to do I will do what God wants to do and not what anybody else does to do But what God says to do and we have to make that commitment in our lives We have to have that consecration in our lives. We have to have that holy sanctified Life and if we do that It brings that opening for the Holy Spirit to move in our lives when when Jesus was speaking to Nicodemus He said the spirit blows the wind blows where it wants to and you don't know where it comes from You don't know where it's going. He said it's the same way with the Spirit of God It's the same way with those that are born of the Spirit of God. You don't know where it's coming from You don't know where it's going, but you surrender to the move of the Holy Spirit in your life I remember being in services in auditoriums that were filled with people and all of a sudden in a corner you'd You'd hear something you'd hear some people start speaking in tongues and the power would flow and you'd see a little movement and start to Move out and start to sweep out and suddenly it's sweep over the whole auditorium And you could actually see it with your eyes the spirit moving in the wind blowing in that place because the Holy Spirit Was just kind of blowing in he was bringing that refreshing wind in he was bringing that water in that river Was starting to flow in that place and I've seen it many times in meetings We're all the sudden you just see in one area and it just it just sweep over the whole building And that's why we need to have that Consecration in our lives that that attitude in our lives that we're going to let God do what he wants to do And then we'll have that sensitivity to the Holy Spirit in the way. He is going to move in our lives We'll have that Sensitivity and and ability to be able to move out in those areas in our lives And you see God wants to move in this place even this morning in some areas And and it's it's difficult sometimes as a preacher to come up and say I believe that God's going to heal Betty This morning in the service. I believe that God is going to Do a specific thing and for so long in our lives and so long in the in the assemblies of God We got to a point where we don't want to say these things anymore We don't want to say well I believe God's going to touch you right now right here Because we think that we're going to look foolish if God doesn't touch him We think that we're going to look foolish if nothing happens when we say that but you see it's not foolish It's not wrong to say that because it's a belief that God is going to do something and it's up to God To do that and there's nothing wrong with believing that God is going to heal someone It's nothing wrong with believing that God is going to minister to someone circumstance And we leave that up to God and we say I believe it and I'm going to pray for you right now And I'm going to lay hands on you right now And I believe that as we pray for you, and as we lay hands on you that the Holy Spirit is going to come And he is going to heal you right now I believe that is that as we pray for you We lay hands on you that you're going to be filled with the Holy Spirit You've never been baptized with the Holy Spirit before and now you receive that baptism I believe that he will refill you with the spirit right now I just believe that God is going to do something because he wants to move in our lives He wants to come in our lives And he wants to change us and when the power of God flows in our lives when the power of the Holy Spirit comes In our midst there is a change that happens in our lives There is there is something different about us that happens in our lives It may be a change in attitude and maybe a change in focus It may be a change physically as he heals us But he always comes and he changes things for his glory for his honor for his victory And so we need to get back into the church where we will pray and seek God and surrender to his will You know so often we look at things like healing baptism of the Holy Spirit Provision from God so many of these things we look at as something that we have to obtain from God I have to seek this from God I have to obtain this from God as if we are going out to get something as if we are going to the grocery store To buy something and that's the wrong attitude the baptism of the Holy Spirit is not something that we go and attain It's something we surrender ourselves to as we surrender to the power of the Holy Spirit as we surrender to Jesus Christ As we let him have his will in our lives. He comes and he immerses us in the power of his Holy Spirit He comes and covers us in the power of his Holy Spirit because we're surrendered to him We're surrendered to his will it's a his way and then the Holy Spirit comes and sweeps over us then the Holy Spirit Leads us where we should go because he's a leader He comes and he brings us to that place where we need to go But we need to have that surrender in our lives as we surrender to him and put our faith in him that he is our Healer then he comes and heal us as we surrender to him and say Lord I am NOT the provider in my house You are the provider then he comes and he brings that provision as we surrender to him and we need to have an attitude of A surrender and not an attitude of always trying to obtain trying to obtain Trying to get trying to coerce God to give us what we want to have but have an attitude rather of that Surrender to him and if we will surrender to him holy and completely if we will let him have his rule in our lives We will see the Holy Spirit come if we've never been baptized in the Holy Spirit I know there are people that have sought for years and years and years and they've always been seeking They've always been seeking the baptism of Holy Spirit But they're always seeking it as something to be obtained rather than saying God I just want you to rule in my life Just surrender to him and let him do what he wants to do and let that Holy Spirit come and sweep you in and that's the Attitude we need to have and I think some of these people that have struggled so long with receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit If they would just surrender to God and say God you have control of my whole life You have control of my spirit. You have control of my mind. You have control of my tongue You have control of what I say what I hear what I read what I do And the Holy Spirit will come and baptize them and immerse them and just cover them with his glory and with his power the reason we don't see more of the power in the church the reason that we don't see more of the working of the spirit in this church with words of wisdom words of knowledge with healings with faith with working a miracle with prophecy with discerning a spirit with tongues with Interpretation of tongues is because we don't have that proper surrender to him We don't have that proper attitude of letting him do what he wants to do in our lives We're not letting him lead in our lives and there's times that there are tongues and interpretation of tongues We talked about this in a Sunday morning Class brother speak speak brought this up that when God speaks by the power of his spirit We need to hide that in our heart We need to meditate upon that word in our heart and see what happens in spiritual words that are spoken It's so often you can go to somebody right after the service and say well Wasn't that neat what the Holy Spirit said to us today and they don't even remember what those words were. It's already gone It's already lost It was never hidden in their hearts and one of the ways that we can be led by the spirit is by hiding that in Our hearts when God starts speaking to us to hide it in our hearts When God starts speaking to us and leading us that we hide what he's doing in our hearts in the services You'll find so often that Sunday morning Sunday school class and then the worship service and then the sermon There'll be a theme There'll be there'll be something that the Holy Spirit is saying to us and if we want to be led by the spirit We have to watch for that We have to be open to that and when he does that hide that in our hearts and say, okay I see God where you're taking us. I see God where you're leading us you know so often we talk about how a church has to have a vision how a Pastor hasn't have to have a vision the leadership Have to has a vision for the church to go if we would be sensitive to what God is doing in the church If we would be sensitive to the words he's speaking by doing that in the Sunday school class and in the worship service and then the Sunday morning service the Sunday night service if we would be open to that and pay attention to what he's doing We would have that vision because it would be a vision that comes from God We'd have a united vision because it would be a vision that comes from God this morning I was going to speak on the power of the Holy Spirit and speak about the Holy Spirit I didn't tell Sylvia that I didn't have to the Holy Spirit told her what songs to pick out And that's the way it should be and that's the way God has always operated in this church Some people think and they look and I know some of you I have even had this attitude at times where I think well God's done with this place. God's not even moving in this place But if we would use our spiritual eyes if we would pay attention to what God is saying to us through songs Through worship through the Sunday school class to the preaching of the word We would realize that God is still moving in this place And we just have to be sensitive to what the Holy Spirit is saying to us We have to be sensitive to what he is trying to tell us to where he is trying to lead us And if we will do that in the church, it'll lead out into so many other areas in our lives And it's amazing what God can do I know what the the sermon I preached just a while back on when God's promises seemed to fail and we looked at Isaiah And how he had died and Martha and Mary had that promise that the sickness will not be on the death When I preached that sermon I had in mind not only people in this congregation But the Holy Spirit laid on my heart a friend of mine that is a pastor He's about this pastor and he wants to move in the power of the Holy Spirit He's hungry for revival and he's had to resign his church because his church Didn't have that same desire didn't have that same focus. And so he's kind of been in between churches He was filling as an interim pastor and and I knew that he was not where he felt that God wanted him to be And so I wanted to share that tape with him When he came in to the the store and I talked with him and he had just lost his interim position because they found a Pastor and he was in a position where he hadn't been in in like I don't know 35 or years or something like that because he'd been a minister for a long time where he didn't have a church He didn't have another one to go to he didn't know where God was going to take him But he knew God was going to take him somewhere. And so he had some of that doubt He had some of that confusion. He had some of that Fear that we would naturally have in a position like that and I gave him that tape he listened to it and Shortly after he listened to it his son and grandson came to the house and his grandson is sensitive To what God's doing in his life? He's sensitive to where where his grandfather is and he said let's play let's pray for Papa Let's pray for him. And he said but you know before we pray for him. Can we read the story of Lazarus first and There the Holy Spirit was speaking to him something he was leading him somewhere He was saying I am NOT done with you yet. My promises are not finished with you yet. That's the way God works That's the way he has always worked That's the way he wants to work in our lives and in our hearts But when that happens, we can't just sit there and say well, it was just a coincidence We can't just sit there and say well, yeah, but I still don't know if God's going to do anything God's giving him a promise right there and that's the time to latch on to it and say God I take you at your word I see that you've given me this message. I see that you've confirmed it even by this little child and God I accept that message you've given me I accept that word you give me and I believe God that your promise will be fulfilled in your life I believe God that you will lead me to that position that you're going to lead me to I believe the guy that you will Bring that healing I believe that you will work in my family Like you said you would and that's what God is doing in this place. That's what God is doing in our life But we need to be sensitive to what he's doing. It's not a coincidence when those things happen. It's not by happenstance It's not just chance that brings that about that's the power of the Holy Spirit at work And if we can be sensitive to what the Holy Spirit is doing if we can be sensitive To the moving and working of what he's doing in this place we can see God move in this place in great and glorious ways I think this morning as the Holy Spirit was moving in this place as the worship service started that there was a Hindrance in this place that there was a block in this place that we as a whole Came in without expecting God to move we came in without really expecting anything to happen this morning We came in thinking it's just going to be another Sunday morning We're just going to sit here in the service We're just going to listen to another sermon and we're going to go home the same And I could feel that in my spirit that we all If we are honest would admit to having that kind of attitude in this place, but God was saying no I am going to move by my spirit I'm going to move by my power and we need to have that sensitivity We need to come expecting him to move we need to come expecting that the Sunday school class and the worship service and the sermon will Go together because God is trying to tell us something we need to come expecting God to speak to us in our hearts It's not just a sermon that's being preached It's not just what I've decided to say But it's what the Holy Spirit wants to do in our lives and in our hearts And if we will come expecting that if we will come watching for that We will see the glory of God in this place like we have never seen it before Because as we see it as we recognize it as we respond to it You'll do more of it and we'll see more of it and we'll move to a more glory and more glory and more glory and the Power of God will flow in this place like never before. He's not finished He's still moving if we would just pay attention with our eyes with our spiritual eyes Jesus so often would say him that has an ear let him hear what the Spirit is Saying and that's the same thing We need to understand today if we have that ear if we have the Spirit of God in our hearts and in our lives We should be able to see these things even now while I'm speaking your mind is going back to things that were said in services and Sermons that were said at times when you've seen that work together and you realize that it's right You realize that God is doing something in this place And you can go home this afternoon and God will bring even more things to your remembrance and more things to your remembrance You'll think oh, yeah, God is moving this somewhere God is trying to do something in this place God does have a message for us and if we will just respond to it If we will hide it in our heart like brother speak talked about that one Sunday morning hide it in our heart like he used the example of Mary and When she would hear the prophecies about Jesus and the things that were going to happen She would hide that away in our heart and that's what we need to do Mary Jesus was just a little baby at that time or he was about to be born at that time and she would get all These promises all these prophecies and she would hide them in our heart and that's what we need to do Jesus may not be born to us yet. He may not be fully ministering to us yet He hasn't come to that position yet but we need to hide those promises in our heart those words that God has spoken by the power of our Holy Spirit in our Heart and see where God is taking us and see what we can do to assist God to work with God to do the things that he has called us to do as he moves us Into an area and God is moving us and if you've paid attention if you've watched what the Spirit is doing in this place He is moving us to a place where this church will be a powerhouse for God where this church will be an outreach To people in this community. He is moving us to a place Well, this will be a soul winning church and in your in your physical eyes and the natural you cannot see that But if you are watching with your spiritual eyes If you are watching what the Spirit of God has been saying to us You will know that that's what God wants to do and it's up to us Will we surrender to him will we let him do what he wants to do or we quench the spirit? Will we resist the spirit will we fight against what the Spirit wants to do? It's up to us to find out what's going to happen. I think that's the burst I wanted in Hebrews actually Sorry, it's in Ephesians chapter 4 Talking about grieving the Holy Spirit of God and he in Ephesians chapter 4 Look at verse 29 and really we could read that whole Verse or a chapter would be really good. But we'll start in verse 29. Do not let any unwholesome talk Come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for the building others up according to their needs That it may benefit those who listen and do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God with whom you were sealed For the day of redemption get rid of all bitterness rage and anger growling slander Only with every form of malice Be kind and compassionate to one another forgive each other Just as in Christ God forgave you and here the In Ephesians Paul is saying not to grieve the Holy Spirit. We don't want to quench the Holy Spirit he's talking about how if we have anger if we have slander if we have bitterness if we have Discord of how we have to have that unity in the body Because if we don't we grieve the Holy Spirit we hinder what the Holy Spirit wants to do Because the Holy Spirit wants to do something with this church as a body the Holy Spirit wants to do something with this church as a unit and So if we have bitterness with each other if we have envy with each other if there's strife in here It hurts what he wants to do because it's not just one individual. It'd be great You know, you got one individual just totally sold out for God totally committed to God That's wonderful and they can do great things for God, but see God wants to use the whole church He wants to use the whole body and so he wants to have that unity there and he wants to do that work there and If we don't have that unity in the body if we don't have that working together in the body It grieves what the Holy Spirit wants to do if we aren't as a body Watching what the Holy Spirit is saying like we talked about Sunday school class Worship service Sunday morning Sunday night Wednesday night there gets to be a theme that the Holy Spirit starts to speak to us Even in our home we'll be at home and we'll be studying the Bible We'd be reading or we'll be praying or maybe we got a reading schedule and we're on our reading schedule and some scripture verses come Out we go. Oh, that's neat Come to Sunday school class. Those same verses are talked about or the same ideas talked about song service Some of those same things are song of sung about that We were just reading at home in our little study That was a random selection that we just happened to read and then the sermon comes out and then again God Reinforces that word if we will all pay attention to what God's doing and speaking to our hearts, it'll bring that unity It'll bring that focus into the body and he will bring us to where he wants to go But we have to all be open to that. We have to all watch that we can't breathe the Holy Spirit we have to all be working together and Moving toward what he wants to do in this place and we can see great and powerful things Done for God and so we want to go to the Lord in prayer right now And we want to let God's Holy Spirit lead us in this place right now right now there are people in this place and you've never received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and God will baptize you in the Holy Spirit this morning. I believe it I believe he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit this morning as you come forward and as we pray with you And there are people that have been baptized in the Holy Spirit, but you've let it slip You're not really moving in the power of the Holy Spirit You're not willing being sensitive to what God wants to do in your life You're just kind of going by with what you've had from in the past and relying on all The things from the past and God wants to refill you with the Holy Spirit Peter and John came and they they said to the man silver and gold Have I none such as I have I give unto you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth Arise and walk they were persecuted by the Sanhedrin They went and they prayed in the place where they were praying was shaken and they were filled again with the Holy Spirit This is just after Pentecost. This is Acts chapter 4 and the day of Pentecost is Acts chapter 2 2 chapters later They're being really filled with the power of the Holy Spirit even in the time when they are moving and healing and Victory in their lives even a time when they're standing up with boldness and they prayed for boldness and the Holy Spirit came and sometimes We rely too much And what we had in the past and we aren't sensitive to the fact that we need to constantly surrender to God and let him Refill us with the Holy Spirit. It's not just the one time you're filled with the Holy Spirit You're baptized in the Holy Spirit and you never receive anything from again We need to have that constant refilling that constant washing of the Spirit as you carry us on To where he wants to go and so this morning you may want to come forward and receive a fresh touch of the Holy Spirit to move out and And where God wants to move this this church is to move out to have that sensitivity to see where he's bringing us To be a mover and a shaker in what he wants to do in this place And you may want that fresh touch of the Holy Spirit this morning I believe as you come forward for prayer this morning that God will refill you with the power of the Holy Spirit And there are some here this morning. You need a healing touch need to be touched from the Lord You need to have that strength again That he's been struggling with problems with her heart and I believe this morning that God wants to heal her With the power of the Holy Spirit and he was wants to come down and touch her and wash over her And no, it's not foolish for me to say it because I'm saying that I believe that God Can do what he has always wanted to do to move in healing to move in baptizing power of his Holy Spirit To move in victory and its strength and I believe that he will do that this morning as she comes forward for prayer And there may be some here there may be some here that have a fear in your life for things that are happening in your Life or you have a confusion about what's happening in your life and God wants to come in and be that comforter for you He wants to come in and he wants to remove that fear and I believe God will come and take that fear away from you This morning right now as you come forward for prayer that God is going to move in your life And it's going to move in your heart and he's going to do a great work of victory in your life And there's others and you have different situations that you're facing in your life And you just want to see God move and I believe that God will move in those situations in your life as you come forward for prayer because he put in our hearts and lives today to be sensitive to the moving of the Holy Spirit to be sensitive to what he wants to do in this church and I believe as I Am sensitive to that as we are sensitive to that as we come forward for prayer this morning And as we lay hands on each other and we ask God to move in these areas, I believe we're going to see answers to prayer Even prayers we haven't seen the answer to in the past I believe that he will do it and I'm putting my faith My trust and my beliefs in him and in his power and being sensitive So what he wants to do in this place and so Tom if you can put a praise tape on now I want to ask everyone that wants to come forward for prayer in whatever area it is Maybe it's baptism in the Holy Spirit. Maybe it's for a refilling of the power of the Holy Spirit. Maybe it's for healing Maybe it's for comfort and for peace Maybe it's for provision and I want you to come forward and make a commitment to him first That you are surrendering to his will to his way make that commitment that you want him to do What he wants to do in that place make a commitment that you want to have Spiritual ears to hear what he's doing in this place and that you will be part of what he wants to do and I want You to come forward and make that commitment first and then we'll pray with you and we'll pray for you And we'll believe that God is going to do what he said to do. So Tom if you'll turn on the tape I'm gonna put forward even egg. You won't give us a scorpion You're gonna give us good things and as we ask for the Holy Spirit You will give it to us in a fuller measure than we've ever had before Lord fill our cups to overflowing we ask let your spirit flow over us and out of us Lord Let it touch lives for your glory Lord, let your spirit flow in this place. We ask right now in Jesus name bring healing bring victory We surrender to you Lord. We want your will to be done in this place. We want to see your glory revealed in this place In Jesus name and right now those that want prayer Come forward those that want to make a surrender to him come forward those that need more of his spirit in your life Come forward and let's spend some time in prayer at these altars. Let's not rush What God wants to do in this place? You
