The Finding Emet radio program focuses on understanding and living the truth of the Bible from a Hebrew perspective. Brother Daniel Rendleman teaches about the Hebrew alphabet and its messages for us. The eighth letter, Chet, represents the number 8 and has significance in overcoming sin, the four types of circumcision, and our true family. The Chet is also associated with the concept of a door or fence. Sin, or Chet, is seen as missing the mark and going astray from God's commandments. The prayer Al Chet covers various sins, emphasizing the importance of not adding or taking away from God's word. Hello, and welcome to the Finding Emet radio program. One of the things we've been going through is looking at each and every single letter of the Hebrew alphabet, finding out a message that Yahweh has for us, and it's been pretty interesting to see all that's in one letter, the message that's there. It's amazing because everywhere we go there are messages. You can't drive down the road without having all these billboards and signs, and even now mobile billboards. Have you seen these on trucks? Mobile billboards, cars getting wrapped, everything's advertising, and I think one day you'll go to the bathroom and there'll be signs there in the bathroom. Google is talking about launching its Android phone on its own network, a cell phone that will be free, unlimited calling. Every time you make a call, you have to watch a 30-second ad. Before you make the call, you have to watch a 30-second ad. There'll be some 15-second ads. That's what they're working towards. It should be out in about two and a half years. Right now it's on T-Mobile. They've already launched it without the ads. That's where they're going. Isn't that interesting? Google will be everywhere. You'll have the Google Donalds or something. So, there'll be signs and everything everywhere. So, we're going to talk a little bit about some of that and how this letter also has a message for us. We're going to talk about the 8th letter, the Chet, the significance of the number 8, the significance of the number 8, the significance of the number 8, the significance of the number 8, the significance of the number 8, the significance of the number 8, the significance of the 4 types of circumcision, how the Chet allows us to overcome sin, our true family of brothers and sisters. We're going to discuss the Zayin, I meant to say the Chet, the bullseye, sorry, the Chet, the bullseye, and the truth about grace. So, a lot to discuss with the Chet. Now, it's become a popular tradition on these signs we see for churches to put funny messages or thought-provoking messages on them. Have you seen some of those? There's one near my home. It says, it's for a Baptist church, it says, God will take care of you, once saved, always saved. And I want to get a chainsaw, God, I'm sorry, G-O-D, God, it's a German word of saying God. I thought we'd look at a few noteworthy efforts, so forgive me I'll use the common pagan names as we look at some of these. Who's up for a laugh? You know, there's nothing like a good laugh. We need a good laugh. Laughter is medicine for the soul, right? So, this one I found here, it says, God may be watching, but the cops have radar. Makes sense to me. That makes sense, yes. There's this one, stop, drop, and roll, it won't work in hell. It won't work in hell. Some of these are kind of rude. I think this was supposed to say, annual convention, but they misspelled it. It says, anal convention. Something happened there. So, I want to stay away from that convention for sure. Live crucifixion, Saturday, March the 22nd. Look at that, church sign, live crucifixion. I like this one. Our church is like fudge, we're sweet with a few nuts. That's Providence Presbyterian Church, by the way. Notice also that many churches will actually shorten some of their words and their signs, and it's amazing how many times they say, sun worship, 11 a.m. and not Sunday worship. God loves you, and he approved this message. Like the politicians, you know, after all, this is John McCain, and I approve this message. Church parking, trespassers will be baptized. That would work, that would be good for the badness. Christian fellowship church. Possessed by demons, visitors welcome. This one looks a little crude here. Don't let worries kill you, let the church help. If they're going to help the worries, they're going to help kill you. Which one is it? Santa Claus never died for anyone. I like that one. I like that one. Uh-oh. AIDS cures sodomy. Ooh, that's kind of rough. That's kind of cruel, isn't it? There are some questions that can't be answered by Google. I didn't like that one. Nope, that's all, sorry. Nothing like a good laugh. Those are some good church signs, we've seen some of those. Driving down the road, see some funny things. And there's absolutely nothing, everybody say nothing, nothing like the letter chet. Think about it, in English, there is not a chet sound. We don't have that in the English language. From the back of your throat, you kind of spit a little bit when you say it. And this chet has many meanings, kind of like a good sign. When you see a good sign, you usually call somebody and say, hey, I saw this sign. It was really neat. Here's what it said. I remember one time at the Burger King I used to manage, we had a sign up and it said, Now hiring closers. And the C fell off. So it said, now hiring losers. Yeah, that describes it sometimes. One time we were riding down the road and the McDonald's had the Big and Tasty, have you seen the sandwich on sale for $1.99? And the T had fallen off, so it said, Big Nasty, $1.99. Took a picture of it, it was so great. Can I get the Big Nasty for $1.99? I'm sorry, can I hear you? But each of the letters, they're messages to us. They're messages, and like this chet, it's the 8th letter. It'll be something hopefully you can remember and tell other people about. Now the chet is similar to the hey. Remember the hey, the 5th letter? The chet is similar to the hey. Where the hey is not connected, the chet is. So it's very easy to get these two letters confused. They look almost alike. Almost twins. That'd just be what kind of twins? Paternal twins, not identical twins. The chet is very similar to the hey in its design. Now, we said that the hey was a picture of to behold. The chet is also the shape of a door or a fence. And it was once a picture of a wall or a tent wall, and it's kind of retained its design of an idea of a door or a fence. Remember that. That the word chet is a picture of a door or a fence, the letter chet. Now what's interesting also is that the letter chet is also a word in Hebrew called chet. Just like the letter B in English is a bee, that thing that goes buzz, you know, flies all around, tries to get us. It's amazing how scared people are of bees. A bee shows up and everybody runs to the other side. Yeah, they hurt, but it's a bee, you know. So people get really scared of bees. I've never understood that. But it's like a bee. It's a word and it's a letter. So we're going to look at this. What is the word for chet? Chet is the word for sin. S-I-N, you've heard it ugly as sin? Sin. Chet is a Hebrew word for sin. So today as we look at this letter, we're going to talk for a few minutes to get a correct understanding of sin. That's where we're going to begin. Our story, our sign, begins with a chet and the issue of sin. Because the chet teaches us about sin. Some people are taught that it's sin to drink alcohol, to dance. Remember back in the 50s, rock and roll, it was a sin to listen to rock and roll. How the preachers would come out on TV, the devil music. Sin in the world and even in the church has changed with the ages, has it not? But yet the scriptural definition of sin has not changed. The word chet is an archery term. And it literally means to miss the mark. It's an archery term, just like you have a bullseye, you have some arrows or so. Chet is an archery term and it means to miss the mark. When we sin, guess what we're doing? We're missing the mark, makes pretty sense. We're going astray. We're losing focus. We're not following through. It's not just what you do, it's also what you don't do. The book of Deuteronomy, chapter 4, verse 2, it tells us, it says, Do not add to the word which I command you this day, do not take away to the word that I command you this day, in order to guard the commandments of Yahweh. And that one verse, Devarim 4, 2, explains exactly what Christianity and Judaism has done. It says, first of all, do not add to the word. Isn't that what Judaism has done with the Talmud, and the Mishnah, and the Gomorrah, and the Kabbalah, and this and that? They've added all these things to the word. Then you've got those that take away from the word, which would be Christianity. They've taken away the feasts, they've taken away the names, they've taken away Hebrew, and they've redone things themselves. So, we're not to go astray. That's missing the mark. Not just what you do. Now, in Yom Kippur, one of the most beautiful prayers that is spoken in the synagogue all year long is spoken on Yom Kippur, and it's the prayer called Al Chet. Al Chet. And this prayer, that's actually in the Siddur, goes over all these sins, because Al Chet in Hebrew means four of the sins. And Al Chet, it covers everything. It covers everything. There's not a sin I don't think that's not listed here. It says, For the sins we've sinned before you, under duress and willingly, for the sins we've sinned before you, through hardness of heart, without knowledge, with utterance of lips, through immorality, in public or in private, in knowledge and deceit, through speech, through deceiving a friend, Al Chet is the word for sin. It's what you do, like lying and stealing and committing adultery, looking with lust. Matthew chapter 5 verse 23 says, Yeshua said, you've heard it said, do not commit adultery. Verse 24 says, But I tell you, anyone that looks upon a woman with lust in his eyes has already committed adultery with her. It's also what you don't do, when we don't help others, when we don't keep Shabbat, when we don't pray as we should. When we sin, we Chet against other people and we Chet, we sin against Yahweh. We sin against both. For example, honor your Abba and Emma. Honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with the promise. One of the ten commandments. And so you can take that many ways. Number one, if you dishonor them, then you're sinning against your father and your mother. You're also sinning against Yahweh. You're not listening to his word. Now Yeshua clarified for us in many of the verses. Take example, Matthew chapter 5. You've heard it said, Do not commit adultery. I tell you, anyone who looks with lust in his heart has already committed adultery. That it's not just the action, but it's the motivation. It's the thought matter. He said that if you look upon someone then you've murdered them. If you look at them with anger and malice in your heart, then you've murdered them. So it's the intention that leads to the deed. You might not go out there and chop your brother's head off, but if you look at him and your eyes go you know, then you've already done it. You've already done it. That's called missing the mark. So just like a bullseye, the mark is the Torah. The Torah is the bullseye. Like you have a bullseye at the center of the bullseye and all the rings that go around it. That's like the Torah as lived by Yeshua. She hasn't talked all week and now she decides to talk. That's alright. The bullseye, the center of the bullseye is Yahweh's perfect will as revealed in the Torah as lived by Yeshua. But how many know that we're kind of like archers and it's not always perfect? We try to keep the commandment just perfect and yet we end up here and we end up there. We end up here. Let's take an example. The calendar issue. The calendar issue. Everybody likes to make a fuss over the calendar issue. Do we go by the Karaites? Do we not go by the Karaites? Do we go by the Jewish calendar? Do we come up with our own? Do we keep the seventh day Sabbath? Do we keep the Christian Sabbath? I've even seen this new teaching that it's sun up to sun down Sabbath. That's the new thing now I've seen out there. Sun up Saturday morning to sun down Saturday night. That's the Sabbath. I believe there's a very good case and a very good understanding and it's my opinion that the best way to keep the Torah right now is by the Jewish calendar and the seventh day Sabbath counted. That would be our Saturday. Now in all reality when we get to Shemaim when we get to heaven to be with Yahweh we might realize we weren't in the center of the bull's eye. We might realize we were close. Maybe we'll realize we were a couple days off. That we're as close as I believe we're going to get. Now there are those that hear me say that and say oh you are way off. When it comes down to it guess what we're all doing? We're all trying to shoot that arrow towards the bull's eye. I'm not new by direct. We're all on a journey. We're all learning. We used to keep the Karaite calendar. Here's how it went. Nine, eight years ago we kept the Jewish calendar. Then we started it with oh no it's a Karaite calendar. Then we studied and we prayed and we studied and we prayed and we kept it and nobody knew when was doing anything. It was total confusion with the Karaite calendar. And the more we studied the more we realized this is not the way to go and we went back to what we're doing now. The bull's eye is the center of Yahweh's perfect will. How many know Yahweh's perfect will does not automatically happen? He has a permissive will and a perfect will. But when it comes down to sin sin is missing the mark. 1 John chapter 3 verse 4 says sin is what? Lawlessness, Torahlessness. That's what sin is. Sin is lawlessness. So when we are unlawful when we don't keep the Torah as we should guess what we're doing? We are sinning. We are violating Yahweh's will and His word. The Torah proves our sinfulness. It tells us in the book of Romans chapter 7 verse 7 I would not have known sin except by the Torah. That doesn't mean the Torah is sinful because Yahweh forbid. The Torah is righteous and pure. The commandment is holy. But the Torah shows us our sin. Danger comes when we're off the mark. Because when you have an arrow and it's bent just a little bit guess what happens? It goes crazy. Remember was it Isaac Newton that used to shoot the arrow at the guys on top of his head or something like that? The apple on his head he'd try to shoot that apple off. If that arrow was off just a little bit it'd be in his throat it'd be on the next road in his eye. Who knows where it would be? We have to be so careful because there's so much seduction out there there's so many deceptions and issues we were talking earlier about conspiracies. There's so much out there that we have to be careful. A small bend in an arrow can lead it in a completely different direction. Just a small bend. Now watch this. This arrow looks straight but it's actually crooked right here. And that small bend will lead it in the wrong direction. The longer the arrow goes the worse it gets. It may start out looking straight but the longer it goes it's going to veer off of the path. Don't we see that in today's religions? Judaism, Christianity all these others. The longer they go the more they veer off the path. The book of Jude chapter 1 verse 3 tells us that we are to contend for the most holy faith that was delivered to the saints once for all time. But the true faith was given one time not to be changed over and over and over again but one time. In 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 3 it speaks of the man of sin. So what is sin? Lawlessness. You with me? Follow me now. Sin is lawlessness. Agreed? Chet is lawlessness. Not keeping Torah. So take a look at this. Verse 3 chapter 2 verse 3 2 Thessalonians Let no one in any way deceive you for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first. The man of lawlessness is revealed the son of destruction. So if this man that's leading the apostasy that's coming after the apostasy is a man of Torahlessness what did that mean that Yeshua was? A man of Torahplessness? A man of Torah? You can show that to your Christian brothers and sisters and say look let's talk about something. When the man of lawlessness comes what law? Is it man's law that's going to be breaking? Or is it Yahweh's law that's going to be breaking? Go there and show them this. So an interesting verse to go along with that is in Genesis the book of Beersheeds Genesis chapter 16 Look at 11 and 12 The angel of Yahweh said to her further Behold you are with child you shall bear a son you shall call his name Ishmael because Yahweh has given heed to your affliction and he will be a wild donkey of a man his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand will be against him and he will live to the east of all his brothers this wild man this donkey of a man this man of lawlessness who comes against Yahweh and Israel and if you do look in Genesis chapter 21 verses 17 through 21 clarify this a little bit more now let's talk about something else the bull's eye is usually dark it's the center it's dark, it's concealed we've had 2000 years without Yeshua so the truth has been hidden from us, right? we're in exile the enemy has had a lot of power to delusion people and to deceive people and the truth is many times we don't know if we're hitting it right or not think about kosher eating we've made so many changes over the years in our kosher eating do I eat this, do I not eat this do I eat this kind of food, do I not eat this kind of food what does it take? it's a constant effort to sharpen your arrow to get towards the bull's eye so many times though our efforts will lead us close to the bull's eye but not quite there so how do we do it? how do we live with this fact? how do we live with the fact that we might not be keeping Torah perfectly because we want to, don't we? we're going to say Yahweh is right what about Yahuwah? what about Yahweh? different versions out there I'll give you a couple points number one, try to do what you think is right keep studying, be open for change give other people patience don't expect everybody to agree with you and I'm going to say something very controversial put a fence around your Torah keeping and before you get upset let me explain what I mean what good is a fence? we've got a fence in our backyard it keeps the dog in the fence most of the time and it keeps the intruders out of the fence the kids can go and play and they're safe in the backyard besides the ants they're safe besides the ants getting them kids went out to play a couple weeks ago the grass must have been waist high we sent them out there to play we know they were out there it was bad yeah I keep looking for a goat for sale so if you do find one please let me know but this fence we have, it usually works it keeps the kids in it keeps the intruders out it keeps the good things in and the bad things out so when we are tempted to sin we should remember the Chet a fence or a door fences around the Torah help us keep the enemy out and the spirit in let me give you an example there are good fences we can put up and then there are bad fences fences that don't work the Jewish people have a fence around the name of Yahweh the word says do not take the name of Yahweh in vain so what do they do? they say Adonai they say Hashem now they've created a new word called Adoshem Adonai and Hashem put together that's becoming popular now Adoshem they don't say the name so they don't misuse the name they don't take it in vain that's a bad fence because it stops you from keeping the heart of the commandment but good fences will keep the good in the spirit in and the enemy out if there are certain temptations that you need to keep at bay we need to put up a fence if there are certain websites if there are certain images if somebody's got an issue with pornography for example they need to be monitored on their computer right? if someone has an issue with stealing they need to be monitored they need to not go somewhere where they might be tempted to steal if someone has an issue with saying things they shouldn't or getting in the flesh then they need to monitor what's going in their mind and in their brain maybe they just need to learn to be quiet what about movies? if you've got a child that's violent you don't want to feed that violence by letting them watch horrible movies with a bunch of violence that's a good fence, isn't that right? now it's easy to say, oh that's good for the kids but what about for the adults? what kind of fences do you have to keep you away from sin? I heard the story recently of a man that was going to commit adultery and right before the act of adultery the true act of adultery he looked down at his tzitzit and he stopped from doing it but his tzitzit stopped him I think that's great that's what the tzitzit is supposed to be for that's why there are two in the front and two in the back turns me to the book of Ecclesiastes you know we don't hear a lot of sermons you know we don't hear a lot of sermons about Ecclesiastes Kohelet in Hebrew Kohelet in Hebrew, Ecclesiastes chapter 10 verse 8 you're going to see the power of the chet right here it's a fence he's a bad dude David Duchovny alright here's another pair baby Ecclesiastes 10 verse 8 says he who digs a pit may fall into it and a serpent may bite him who breaks through a barrier a wall or a fence depending on your translation the serpent will bite you if you break down your fences if you break down your walls if you just do anything and say anything and go anywhere if we don't have fences around our Torah keeping that's why you know when Shabbat comes we try to cut off a lot of attention with the world a lot of connection with the world we try to cut it off so we're not tempted to sin if your sin is gluttony don't fill the fridge with ice cream right? don't go to the buffet and that's I tell you I get to a buffet I gorge myself German chocolate cake I gorge myself so maybe I should stay away from buffets doesn't that make sense? it's so simple but that's what the chet is for Ecclesiastes 10 8 that's a great verse to remember a serpent will bite you if you break down your walls if you break down your fence the chet is a message to remember so the chet is sin and the chet is offense so we need to put fences around our Torah observance to keep the sin out now the chet is also the number 8 and we're told that each Hebrew letter is made of other Hebrew letters but this is made of two vav's one vav going this way one vav going that way creates the chet is the number 8 so let me ask you this what is the remedy for sin? how are we saved? what does it say in Ephesians? how are we saved? how are we born again? what does Ephesians say? Ephesians chapter 2 verse 8 we are saved by grace through faith it is not of ourselves that any man should boast Torah keeping does not get you saved otherwise why did Yeshua come? so why do we have Torah keeping then? it's the path of the righteous we are saved by grace through faith now once we are born again what is the way we walk? the straight and narrow so what is the remedy for sin? how are we saved? it tells us you are saved by grace through faith Ephesians 2 verse 8 well guess what? in Hebrew that is we are saved by grace do you know the Hebrew word for grace? chesed guess what that begins with? a chet isn't it amazing that the chet is the word for sin and yet it begins the word of grace chet chesed the Hebrew word for grace is spelled chet psalmic dalet chet psalmic dalet what is grace? you know we sing amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now am found was blind but now I see when we've been there ten thousand years bright shining as the sun we've known less days to sing as praise than when we first begun than when we first begun haven't we sung that before? maybe not quite to that tune you know we have to do a song for every teaching I think it's just part of it what is it? it's just amazing old gospel song there's no other word for grace but amazing yeah I've got another word for it chesed chesed that's the real word for it it means unconditional unmerited loving kindness and favor you can't earn it it is not dependent on what you do or what you don't do we know that life is not about second chances you don't get a lot of second chances in life do we? but chesed is all about second chances it's not just cheap greasy grace where we slide on in it's so much more we limit ourselves we think that grace is just oh it's Yom Kippur or it's Sunday morning let me confess my sins and it's over with that's cheapening Yahweh's grace and I really don't think that he listens to that because he knows the heart he knows the heart if he just confesses to go out and do it again you're not forgiven that's taking advantage of Yahweh's grace it's loving kindness get this word steadfast love unconditional unconditional we are so used to conditions do this by this time by this day you'll get this Yahweh's chesed says you know what it doesn't matter what you've done no matter how bad you've been no matter how bad how many sins you've committed even how many people you've killed how many people you've hurt Yahweh's grace is enough so guess what through chesed we experience another chet word so we've said chet and chesed we've got sin we've got grace there's another chet word that through chesed we experience Chaim we toast L'Chaim to life Chai is the Hebrew word for life L'Chaim means to life almost more popular in Judaism than the star of David is this chet and a yod put together the chet and a yod put together put on a necklace or an emblem Chai speaking of life and if you look at these two letters together side by side and you bring the yod together it actually looks like a lamb and the rabbis teach us that the word Chai is a picture of the Passover lamb what did they say about Yeshua behold the lamb of Yahweh that takes away the sins of the world the chet shows us this shows us the life now in John chapter 10 verse 10 it says the thief comes to steal kill and destroy but I've come that you might have Chaim everybody say life life Chaim I've come that you might have Chaim more abundantly so if we're not experiencing the abundant Chaim we need to seek him the story is told of this king he would shoot the bow and arrow do the archery but he was bad he was horrible and every time he would go out there to shoot the guy at the bullseye that was right beside it he'd almost hit him he'd shoot to the right to the left above and below and you know what he'd do he'd get so mad at the guy he'd say off with his head that's it so finally one of the guys said you know what I'm going to do this the right way and that king got there and he pulled back the bow and he let the arrow go and it started going to the right that guy grabbed that bullseye and guess what he did he ran over there to the right and he said hit it hit it hit it and it bounced right there and when he shot the next time it went to the left that's what he did he ran to the left that's like Yeshua he's for us he comes that we might have life and we're like that king we're just shooting we're going everywhere but Yeshua moves it so we can make it he meets us in a place of need isn't that beautiful so we have chet which is sin we have chesed which is grace we have chayim which is life and life isn't just about us is it who's ready for another chet word Chavarim Chavarim Chavarim Chavarim for the will you are Chavar you are my friend Mark you are a Chavar Mark you are a Chavar Connie you're a Chavara Connie you're a Chavara you're my friend Connie that when we are born again we are born again into the family of Yahweh when we are born again we are born again into their family into our family we think when we go home and we have to deal with those people that's our family but you know what this is our family and the word tells us that through the blood of Yeshua we've been made one new man that we can all come together to worship and as one in Yahweh this is your real family Mark chapter 3 Mark chapter 3 verse 35 look at verse 32 and a multitude was sitting around him and said to him behold your mother and brothers are outside looking for you he said who are my mother and brothers Yeshua said and looking around those he said behold my mother and my brothers verse 35 whoever does the will of Yahweh he is my brother and sister and mother everybody get together let us love one another this is our family to do a better job with our family contact people love them spend time with me with me now go out of our way exchange phone numbers hey buddy give me a call let's spend some time together whether we're discoursing and midrashing the deep things of Torah or whether we're just going bowling together or spending time together and you know what that causes? it causes one more big thing Chesed for there to be Kavarah for there to be Kavarim forgiveness love mercy if you're around me five minutes I will offend you I have a disclaimer we need each other did you know that when we come together this is tough I'm going to say it anyway when we come together for worship it is proving ground of our spirituality how we act when we're here if we show up if we can be here if we don't if we pay attention if we are kind if we're servants that's proving ground of our spirituality we can say we're spiritual but it's what we do when we're around our brothers and sisters that's what proves it yes you are your brother's keeper Yahweh has put a need in your life that only your brothers and sisters can fill we need each other now there's another Ched word that through Chesed we continue and we dedicate our lives to Yahweh we walk on our faith it shouldn't surprise us that the Hebrew word for dedication begins with a Ched who knows what that word is Hanukkah Hanukkah you've heard Hanukkah called Hanukkah spelled with an H that's the Anglicizing version of it it's actually with a Ched it means Hanukkah it means dedication now what number is the Ched 8 how many days are in Hanukkah 8 how many days are in Sukkot the 8th day of assembly in Sukkot there were 8 souls that came out of the Ark David was the 8th son of Jesse 8 is important 8 is all about dedication 8 is the number of new spiritual beginnings, new life we'll have 6,000 years and a 1,000 year reign of Messiah and then guess what the 8th day will be what? the new heavens and the new earth eternity Ched no more sin and what happens to the boy on the 8th day he's circumcised so let me ask you have you been circumcised are you ready for circumcision we've talked about sin we've talked about life, we've talked about friends we've talked about dedication now we're going to talk about circumcision or covenant circumcision is all about covenant and it's not just for the guys the scriptures actually teach 4 types of circumcision everybody say 4 4 4 types of circumcision the joke's on you you always thought it was just for the guys on the 8th day so we're going to discuss as we finish here 4 types of circumcision and what they mean to us the first one of course is the cutting of the foreskin in Hebrew called Brit Milah Brit Milah Brit is the Hebrew word for cutting using a covenant a covenant is a Brit it's a cutting Brit Milah is an agreement promise and get this it's a commandment that the child has nothing to do with whose responsibility is it the kids? No it's the parents and let me say this about Brit Milah the biblical Brit Milah or circumcision is not exactly what we have today it's not exactly what we have today today you can get it done in the hospital usually on the same day the baby is born or a day later they bring in this little thing it looks like a like a stamper or something they take care of it do you think that's what they had when Moses was here? No do you think it's exactly like that? it was a cutting away of the flesh and a drawing of the blood today Brit Milah is usually done in the hospital Jewish people have a moil ever heard of a moil? a moil is like a rabbi but he's been specifically trained in doing Brit Milah he knows all the blessings he knows how to take care of it and he does it he's the one that does that it's usually done in the home on the 8th day on the 8th day on the 8th day what's amazing is that on the 8th day your vitamin K from what I've seen is the highest in your whole life on the 8th day of your life you have a higher supply of vitamin K on the 8th day of your life than you'll ever have which vitamin K is what makes you caught and makes the bleeding to stop you always think I'm setting aside that day not just to cut you but to heal you the cutting away of the flesh turn with me to their sheep the book of Genesis chapter 17 now as we turn there we all know that Yeshua was circumcised don't we? so some people write me and they say do I need to get circumcised Luke 2.21 Yeshua did it and they say well if I don't get circumcised am I going to heaven I said I didn't say that it's not a salvation issue Luke 2.21 says Yeshua was circumcised bear a sheet Genesis chapter 17 shows us the covenant that was made look at verse 9 Yahweh said further to Abraham now as for you you shall keep my Brit my covenant you and your descendants Zerah after throughout their generations this is the Brit which you shall make between me and you and your descendants after you every male among you shall be circumcised and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin and it will be a sign of the covenant between me and you a sign of the covenant what's the covenant Yahweh is going to bless us he is going to multiply us those who bless us will be blessed those who curse us will be cursed that we are Abraham's seed verse 12 and every male among you who is eight days old shall be circumcised throughout your generations a servant who is born in your house who is brought with money from the foreigner who is not of your descendants a servant who is born in your house shall be cut off of the flesh for an everlasting covenant for that person who is not circumcised verse 14 shall be cut off for he is broken my Brit he is broken my covenant so people write me they say I'm not circumcised do I need to get circumcised of the flesh do I need to get circumcised and I tell them yes I say Yahweh is leading you to do that then you need to do it that's part of obedience but I'll also say this you don't have to go to the doctor and get cut do it yourself I say I tell them do it yourself make it bleed as a symbol of the circumcision there are those that would disagree they can't do they're older, they have health issues so I say draw blood as a symbol of circumcision I may be way off the bullseye but I believe that that's important so that's the first type the second type of circumcision is Brit Halev the covenant of the heart the cutting of the heart in Leviticus 26 verse 41 I was hostile acting against them to bring them into the land of their enemies or if their uncircumcised heart becomes humbled then they may make amends for their iniquity we have uncircumcised hearts yes our spirit may be one with Yahweh when we're born again but our flesh may not be and our hearts may not be our hearts are uncircumcised and what happens here when we circumcise our hearts it says that it makes amends for our iniquity this is the essence of circumcision and this is also a do-it-yourself circumcision Deuteronomy 10 verse 16 He is your praise and your Elohim who has done these great and awesome things which you have seen circumcise your heart what does circumcise mean? it means to cut away the flesh Brit Halev is about asking Yahweh to do what? circumcise my flesh oh Yahweh do you know how the heart is circumcised? Hebrews chapter 4 for the word of Yahweh is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit of both joints and marrow and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart our heart is circumcised by the word of Yahweh notice what it says sharper than any two-edged sword and it pierces the division of the soul and the spirit between our hearts that's what Yahweh's word does that's what Yahweh's word does Yirmeyahu 4.4 says circumcise yourselves to Yahweh get this now this is important when a person's heart is not circumcised to Yahweh then they will resist the Ruach HaKodesh the church is full of people who do not have a circumcised heart who have not gone through Brit HaLev because they resist the Ruach HaKodesh the book of Acts chapter 7 says this verse 51 you stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears you always resist the Holy Spirit you might not have ever asked Yahweh to circumcise your heart or your ears but maybe we should it says here you stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears you always resist the Ruach HaKodesh which leads us to the next type of circumcision Brit HaAzon Brit HaOzen Brit HaOzen Brit HaOzen when we have uncircumcised ears that shows that we don't listen to Him when He speaks to us how do you do that? you do what He says Jeremiah 6 verse 10 verse 10 to whom shall I speak and give warning that they may hear behold their ears are closed they cannot listen behold the word of Yahweh has become a reproach to them they have no delight in it I am full of the wrath of Yahweh I am weary of holding it in pour it out on the children in the street and on the gathering of young men together for both husband and wife shall be taken the aged and the very old their houses shall be turned over to others their fields and their wives together for I will stretch out my hand against the inhabitants of the land declares Yahweh and from the least of them even unto the greatest of them everyone is greedy for gain and from the prophet even to the priest everyone deals falsely and they have healed the brokenness of my people superficially saying peace peace but there is no peace were they ashamed because of the abomination they have done they were not ashamed at all they did not even know how to blush therefore they shall fall among those who fall at that time I will punish them they shall be cast down says Yahweh thus says Yahweh verse 16 stand by the way and see and ask for the ancient path where the good way is and walk in it and you shall find rest for your souls and they said we will not walk in it and I sent watchmen over you saying listen to the sound of the shofar but they said we will not listen therefore hear O nations and know O congregation what is among them hear O earth behold I am bringing disaster on this people the fruits of their plans because they have not listened to my words for as my Torah they have rejected it as well uncircumcised ears does not hear the word of Yahweh speaking to us about the ancient path Yahweh says in verse 16 stand by the way and see and ask for the ancient path how many people do we know that are willing for the ancient path most of them no they want to close their ears they don't want to hear that Jewish stuff they don't want to know about that Jewish feast they don't want to know about Yahweh but it says this is where the good way is walk in it you shall find rest for your souls but then they said we will not walk in it so then he says in verse 17 I'm going to set watchmen up listen for the sound of the shofar and therefore they say no we don't want to hear it the ears are important because they are a channel of our faith ears are a channel of our faith faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of Yahweh does it say in Revelation 2-7 to him that has ears may he hear what the ruach is saying that may give unto him the authority the seed from the tree that is in the midst of the garden Revelation 2-7 we have to tune our ears to hear past the noise so have you entered in the covenant about hearing remember Eliyahu he was there on the mountain waiting for a word from Yahweh there was an earthquake oh it's a big move of the Lord is coming it's an earthquake was Yahweh in the earthquake no there was a storm there's wind and falling down of the rocks was Yahweh in that no how did Yahweh speak to him in a still small voice in a gentle thunder in a light whisper most of the time I'm talking I don't give him a lot of time to speak to me I circumcise my ears finally the fourth type of circumcision is which is cutting of the lips a circumcision of the lips we know the story of Moses don't we he's arguing with Yahweh I can't go I'm not going to go I stutter I can't talk he says I have uncircumcised lips and what did Yahweh do with him he used him didn't he even though he wasn't the most eloquent speaker he used him but you know what else he did he said go find Aaron your Havarim and go with him he puts us together with our brothers and our sisters he said people aren't going to accept me I shouldn't go before others he had a speech impediment do you think he really stuttered I don't think he stuttered do you think it was he didn't speak fluent Egyptian no he knew how to speak to the king of Egypt do you know what I believe it was I believe his lips were not circumcised like Isaiah's he had not had a full major encounter with the Ruach of Yahweh until that day he said Yahweh I can't go unless you go with me that's what he was saying I don't think he was saying you know he's got a lips lips lips list he wasn't saying it was a list I think he was saying woe is me isn't that what Isaiah said Isaiah chapter 6 verse 5 look at verse 1 in the year of the king Uzziah death I saw Yahweh sitting on a throne lofty and exalted with the train of his robe filling the temple he's experiencing Yahweh just like he did in the burning bush and the seraphim the angels were crying out kadosh kadosh kadosh is Yahweh look at verse 5 he said woe is me oy vey for I am ruined because I'm a man of unclean uncircumcised lips why is that he says I have lived among a people of unclean lips not say whatever do whatever curling up my toes because this is very difficult to say if you and if I are always doing damage control for what we have said then our lips have not been circumcised and they need to be the book of Proverbs chapter 18 verse 21 says the power of life and death is in the tongue those who love it shall eat its fruit and if we're always doing damage control and having to go back and explain and having to do this and do that then we have an issue we have an area that Yahweh needs to cut he said woe is me I'm a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips now these are all areas of sin are they not we talked about lips and hearing giving our flesh over to Yahweh the hent is also a picture of a door of a fence these are areas that we need Yahweh to cut away and apply the blood of Yeshua for life we'll finish in the book of Romans Romia verse 2 excuse me Romia chapter 2 verse 28 and 29 for he is not an Israelite or Yahudim or Jew who is one outwardly neither is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh but he is a true Jew a true Israelite a true Evrim a true overcomer one who is one inwardly and the circumcision is that which is of the heart by the Ruach not by the letter and his praise is not from men but from Yahweh that when Yahweh's Ruach has circumcised us on the 8th day bringing forth a life we are a true Israelite we've been going through the book of we've been going through the book of Psalms in chapter 119 because each of these letters are represented here and verses 57 through 64 all begin with a with a Chet listen to this book of Tehillim 119 verse 57 through 64 can you agree with this has your flesh has your heart have your ears and have your lips been circumcised are you dedicated to Yahweh is his life flowing from you Yahweh is my portion I promise to keep thy words I entreated my favor with all my heart be gracious to me according to thy word I considered my ways I turned my feet to your testimonies I hastened and did not delay to keep your mitzvot commandments the cords the Chet of the wicked have encircled me but I have not forgotten thy Torah at midnight I will rise to give you thanks because of your righteous ordinance I am the companion of all those who fear Yahweh I promise to keep thy precepts the earth is full of thy loving kindness Chesed oh Yahweh teach me thy statutes Yahweh has given us his Chesed to teach us his ways as we began the teaching we looked at some funny signs and something that we don't forget is one of those we see the Chet is one of these letters that we should not forget Chesed means sin we talked about grace about life friendship dedication then the number 8 in circumcision Yahweh is moving in us and is growing us sin is being off target so we should try to be on guard the only remedy for sin is Chesed I would like right now to thank Yahweh for his Chesed and ask him to circumcise us Father Yahweh we come before you through the blessed name and blood of Yeshua HaMashiach the mediator our high priest and we ask you this day to circumcise us in our heart in our souls, in our lips and in our ears that we would hear you speak to us we would hear your word that we would obey we would not grieve the Ruach HaKodesh we would not turn an ear to the Ruach HaKodesh Father we ask you to circumcise our lips that we would not be unclean that we would not speak evil that you would circumcise our hearts by your word Father in all of this we will bring our flesh our body under subjection of your word Father we thank you for your Chesed, your grace no matter what we have done in the past you have forgiven us and you have set us free for life Father we are reminded of the 8th day celebration of Chanukah and we dedicate ourselves to you this day asking you to grow in us and to help us and to move in us Father we give you thanks and we give you praise for you are Yahweh Elohim of our forefathers Elohim of our forefathers Abraham, Yitzhak and Yaakov and we remind you of the covenant you made with our forefathers to bless those who bless us to curse those who curse us and to increase us and multiply us and to strengthen us Father we thank you for your Ruach we thank you for your letters we thank you for Yeshua we give you praise b'shem Yeshua we pray through his name in
