Our organization has selected New Port Ritchie as the initial site for our debris interception program. The area has been designated as a high-risk zone for debris accumulation by NOAA, making pollution intervention crucial. We have a history of successful partnerships with local communities, particularly during the Red Tide Bloom response efforts from 2017 to 2019. These collaborations have improved communication with local authorities and increased community awareness. By leveraging these relationships, we aim to launch and sustain the Debris Interception Program, protecting the community and nearby marine ecosystems. Our organization has chosen the coastal community of New Port Ritchie as the initial site for the implementation of our debris interception program. Due to critical factors, New Port Ritchie emerged as a vital candidate. Foremost among these is the designation by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, of New Port Ritchie as a high-risk zone for debris accumulation. This is concerning due to the area's proximity to essential ecological habitats, highlighting the importance of pollution intervention in this region. Our selection of New Port Ritchie is further justified by the productive partnerships we have previously made with local communities, especially noted during our operation in the Red Tide Bloom response efforts between 2017 and 2019. These collaborations have established a resilient framework for communication with local authorities and have significantly heightened community participation and awareness regarding environmental challenges and responses. Leveraging this foundational relationship, our organization will reinvigorate local support to facilitate the successful launch and sustained operation of the Debris Interception Program. We believe these concealed efforts will not only mitigate the immediate threat posed by debris accumulation, but also contribute to the long-term resilience and ecological well-being of the New Port Ritchie community and nearby marine ecosystems.
