The Bible study is focused on enduring difficult policies. The examples of Daniel and the apostles are given as inspiration for navigating such situations. The speaker encourages seeking dialogue with decision-makers to review policies and making a decision about whether to stay in a place with unfavorable policies. The next topic to be discussed is how to manage lazy people in a team. The audience is invited to send in comments and visit the website for more episodes. The session ends with a prayer for missionaries facing challenges and a reminder to pray for them. Hello, we welcome you to join this chariot for a 5 minute Bible study. This episode 23 on A Step of Faith is titled Enduring Difficult Policies. My name is Greg Alabi and I'm inviting you to come let us study the Bible together. We all need a good environment to flourish and prosper when we want to take a step of faith to accomplish anything significant, a level playing ground free from double standards or restrictions with no glass ceiling. A peaceful place, welcoming and inviting, not a place where the rules and regulations are not favourable either because they violate our conscience, oppose our faith or are contrary to our values. In the Bible, two people that found themselves in places where the policies, the rules and regulations were not favourable were Daniel, the king made the decree that nobody should pray to any God and whoever does shall be cast into the lion's den, lion's den not a good place to be. Daniel chapter 6 verse 8 tells us that. Another example is found in Acts chapter 5 verse 27 to 29. The apostles were brought before the authorities and were told they must stop preaching and teaching about Jesus. Peter responded and said in verse 29, we ought to obey God rather than men. So now you find yourself in something similar. In this generation, this age and times, without becoming rebellious or confrontational, here you are, you want to start something great, you want to get something done but the rules and regulations will violate your conscience or your faith or even your values. How then will you navigate around this? Now let's learn some valuable lessons from a woman of God from England. When the cultures and policies are not favourable, what should you do? If it's a workplace, I'll have to make a decision as to whether I want to work in that place and if there's a way that the policies can be reviewed and there can be a discussion about it, then I will be seeking the right person or right leader or key person or decision maker about reviewing the policies. I know of a story where some children in America decided to change the policy of school wear that has been prevalent from the 1960s. Girls were not allowed to wear shorts to school. There was something else about girls, I can't remember what it was, but there was a march, a demonstration where the children had to call the board of the school, I think the governors. There was a meeting that was held and there was a decision to review the policy. I am a change agent personally, so I like to make sure that policies are favourable. But if you're talking of policies that I give the Bible, like I said, I have to make a decision as to whether I want to work in that place, but I will make my feelings known to a manager about the policy. Okay, thank you. Wow, that is deep. You have to make a decision if that's where you want to be or not. As a change agent, you want to escalate to speak with decision makers to review that decision. I want to encourage you to please send in more comments on this subject. Next topic we would like to review will be how should we manage lazy people in our team. They spend time on anything but work, from being on their cell phones, spending time on their mobile phone, to sleeping on duty, talking and gisting to distract others. They show up late, they spend protracted times during break period and leave early. Please send your comments or your contributions by WhatsApp voice note. Make it just about three minutes long or multiples of three minutes each. I also invite you to please visit our website, gregalabee.com. Look for the podcast. You will find previous and current episodes. Let us pray. Father, we thank you for what we are learning. We pray especially for those who find themselves in places where the culture, the traditions, the rules and regulations and the policies are not favorable. Especially missionaries in countries out there or communities or tribes out there that are challenging. Please support your people. Encourage them. Send help from above. We intercede on their behalf. The Lord protect them from danger and help them to get the job done. We thank you for we pray in Jesus name. Amen. Please remember to keep praying for missionaries wherever you are. Thank you. God bless you. Amen. Amen. Amen.
