The podcast discusses the purpose and importance of PLCs (professional learning communities) in education. It emphasizes the need for teachers to speak up about what is working and what is not working in order to improve teaching methods. The podcast also mentions the idea of engaging students in creating podcasts as a way to involve them in the educational process. Overall, the podcast encourages teachers to use PLCs as a platform for open and honest communication to enhance education. Welcome back to another podcast of the truth of education. Welcome back my fellow friends. We are in another episode of the truth of education. Drum roll, please. No drum rolls? Okay, then let's get into it. So I am going to start off with the seat being caliente. If you don't know what caliente means, it means hot. So we think that we know the truth about education, but do we really? That sounds kind of intense, right? Yes, I know. Well, I don't know, but we're about to find out. So there's more to just teaching one plus one equals two because we know that's not how it goes. So what is the purpose for PLCs? Well, the purpose of PLCs is to analyze where our students are at academically, the good and the bad. PLC is also a time where teachers get to speak the truth. One of the podcasts that I was listening to, reading, creating podcasts with your students is really, really fun. And it was really interesting. I should look into it because it really includes the students into creating the podcast. Like every student has a role. We have the student that gets to record, the student that gets to participate. It's a whole bunch of different roles that really gets the students involved with the teacher. But, like I said, going back, PLC is also a time where teachers get to speak the truth, which this goes to, how does PLC relate to the truth of education? Well, PLC relates to the truth of education because it lets us know what is working and what is not working. Not just for the students, but also for us. Which goes back to another podcast that I had also been listening and reading to. It is called Engaging Them All podcast. I know, you see, the word says it all, Engaging Them All. It lets us know what is working for the students, not just for them, but for us, guys. That's key, key, key. Which goes to, why should teachers speak the truth and PLCs? Well, why should we? To speak the truth, newsflash, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. This was when my music man was supposed to come in, but he did not come in. And this is why our podcast title is called The Truth of Education. Let's speak up. As teachers, educators, sometimes we're afraid to speak up and say, hey, this isn't working, what else can I do? But that is totally fine. And I guess we're living in a society now where teachers are speaking up, they're, we're actually speaking up and putting our foot down and saying, hey, this isn't working, you need to, you need to give me something else, dame mas, give me more. So let's work as a team to see what we can do to improve. And I believe that PLCs gives us that opportunity. Well, that's it for today's podcast. Give me a drumroll, please. That's not a drumroll. You see, no drumrolls. Wow. Just kidding, friends. See you on next week's podcast.
