Meeting An Elf 2

A person named Ivory finds someone in the forest with their foot stuck in a bear trap. Ivory helps free their foot, takes them to their cabin, and tends to their injuries. The injured person stays at Ivory's cabin to recover. Ivory sends a letter to the village elder to inform them of the situation. Ivory goes to the market and returns to make dinner for the injured person. They discuss their backgrounds and the injured person reveals they got lost while hunting. Ivory offers to get crutches for them and help them return home. Ivory expresses their enjoyment in helping others and bids the injured person goodnight. Hello? Is someone there? I'm not trying to hurt you, I just want to make sure you're okay. I promise you, I'm only trying to help. If it's okay with you, I'm going to start walking over slowly. Hi there, what's your name? It's nice to meet you too, sweetheart. I'm Ivory. I'm here to help you. It looks like you got your foot stuck in a bear trap. I'm going to have to open it back up to free your foot. This might hurt, just bear with me. I know, I'm sorry. I've almost got it. There we go. That bear trap did some damage. I'll take you back to my cabin to take care of that. Before we start to head over to my cabin, I'm going to wrap some cloth around it to slow the bleeding. I'm going to have to wrap it tightly, so just bear with me for now. Hold on, don't try to get up on your own or you might fall. Are you okay? Do you feel light-headed? Good, now just wait here a minute. I'm going to try to find something for you to lean on. Here, take this stick. It should help you balance a little more, but if you're more comfortable leaning on me, that's fine too. Oh, my cabin? It's about a five minute walk from here, but it'll probably be closer to ten because we'll need to go a little slower. We should get going, it's starting to get dark. Let's try getting you up again. There we go, just take it slow. We don't need you hurting that foot anymore. Here we are, now let's get you to the couch so I can take a look at your foot. I'll be right back. I just need to go get some bandages Don't move around too much. Show me your foot. Oh dear, it looks pretty bad. I don't think it's deep enough to need stitches, but the bone is most likely broken, so you'll need to stay off it for a while. Let me take a look at these cuts. I'm just going to clean this off real quick. This might sting a little, just bear with me here. I know, I'm sorry, I'm almost done. There we go, I'm just going to put some of the salve on there to help it heal faster. There we go, and now I'll just bandage it up. And I'm all done. How does it feel? Yeah, you might be in some pain for a few days, just rest for now. I'm going to go make you something to eat and set up a room for you. Oh, it's no problem at all, I just want to help you get better so you can head back home. Is there anything I can get you in the meantime? Some tea? Yeah, of course. I wonder what they were doing out here all on their own. Humans don't just come into the forest unless they're looking for someone or hunting, and it didn't look like they were doing either of those. No weapons, no potions, no supplies. They couldn't have just come at her to come out here. Could they be running from something or someone? I doubt they'd answer any of my questions. Not yet, at least. They probably don't trust me yet, but I still need to figure out why they are here. It could be dangerous for the village. I can't be worrying about this right now. I need to focus on helping them get better so they can leave the village as soon as possible. I should probably go out to the village so I can get some ingredients to make myself since I'm running low and I'll need to change the bandage on my foot soon. Plus, I should probably talk to the village elder about them being here, just so she knows, in case any other humans show up. Heh. Oh, they're asleep. Well, I might as well let them sleep a while. Well, that wasn't expected, but as long as she gets the letter, everything should be fine. Well, I already picked up everything I needed at the market, so I might as well head back to the cabin. Oh, hey! I didn't think you would be awake. I just went into town to pick up some ingredients to make more stoves and to make dinner. Yeah, I'm just going to make some stew, if that's okay with you? Great! Also, before I start working on dinner, do you want to move to your room so you can get some more rest and hopefully be more comfortable than out here on the couch? Okay, let me just go get those sticks so you can move to the room easier. That reminded me. I should probably stop by the carpenter's shop to see if they can make you some crutches to make getting around easier on you. Oh, it's no problem at all. They'll probably be here for a little while, and we might as well make you comfortable here. Again, it's no problem. Now let's get you to your room. Here's a stick for you to lean on, and again, if you feel more comfortable leaning on me, you can. There you go. Now you're standing. Take it slow, okay? I don't need you falling again. Okay, let me open the door for you. Here, let me help you to the bed. There you go. Just take it nice and slow. I'm just going to lift your foot up and put a few pillows underneath it there. Wow, I'm assuming your family worked in the castle. That's amazing. You're really lucky to have grown up there. If you lived in the castle, what were you doing all the way out here? It's a three day journey from the kingdom. You were hunting and got lost. I have a feeling they aren't telling the truth, but I won't push them. Here, I'll take your dishes. It's getting late, so you should probably get some rest for tomorrow. I'll go into the village to see if I can get you some crutches, then we can figure out what we can do to get you home.
