The Sound of Music, Rogers and Hammerstein's final musical, is a classic from 1959. Many of its songs have become popular in American musical theater. Do-Re-Mi is a key song that helps Maria connect with the von Trapp children through singing. Captain von Trapp also sings Edelweiss to say goodbye to Austria. Rogers and Hammerstein's last musical was the 1959 classic The Sound of Music. Almost all of the songs from the show have become standards in American musical theater. Do-Re-Mi paves the way for Maria's relationship with the von Trapp children as she expertly guides them through singing with precision.
