Türk tarihindeki ilk darbe

The first coup in Turkish history is not the 1960 coup, but rather the one that happened in the Asy-Hun state, the first Turkish state. The father and first ruler of this state, Teoman, initially showed Mete Han as his successor. However, in his later years, out of jealousy, he declared his son from another wife as the heir and handed Mete over to an enemy tribe. Mete managed to escape, and his father gave him a small army of archers as a reward for his success. Despite this, his father still ensured that his other son continued as the heir. As a result, Mete Han gained the support of important Hun nobles and killed his father with the archers, taking the throne. This was the first political coup in Turkish history.
