This is a transcript of a morning devotion at Harvest Chapel International. The main idea is about importunate prayer, which means persistent and relentless prayer. The focus is on seeking justice and mercy against the adversary who brings conflict, poverty, and other challenges. The example of the persistent widow and the unjust judge is given to encourage believers to keep praying until they see a turnaround. The importance of backing prayers with faith in God's word is emphasized. The memory verse is Luke 18:7, and the prayer is for grace to remain persistent in prayer. The transcript ends with a blessing and a reminder to stay connected to Radio HCI for more spiritual content. O Thou that hearest prayer, unto Thee shall all flesh come. Shalom Precious One, We thank the Lord for the gift of life and the grace to look into His Word this morning. God bless you for being a part of the Just Ended Prayer Startup. This is Harvest Chapel International, Dunyami Kumasi, and facilitating today's episode of our Morning Glory Devotion Hour, Pastor and Mrs. DeGrafteria. Please let us share a word of prayer. Lord Jesus, we commit today's devotion into your hands. We pray that we will be encouraged and transformed by your Word. In Jesus' mighty name we have prayed, Amen. Please let us take our confession from Joshua Chapter 1 verse 8. Joshua Chapter 1 verse 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. But then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success. Amen. The theme for this morning's devotion is importunate prayer, importunate prayer. And our scripture reading shall be taken from Luke Chapter 18 verse 1 to 8. Luke Chapter 18 verse 1 to 8 Please I will be reading from the New King James Version. And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray and not to faint, saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man. And there was a widow in that city, and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversity. And he would not for a while, but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man, yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith, And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man cometh, shall he find faith on earth? The word of the Lord. Thanks be to God. Importunate Prayers Prayer is an act of communication between man and God, where we talk to God and He in turn also responds to us. As believers, we have a daily privilege of coming before the Lord with our petitions and the absolute blessing of receiving answers to our prayers. However, it is not always that we receive answers to our prayers on the spot. There are times that we have to keep at it day and night, like the widow did with the judge, until God grants us the justice we plead. This is not to encourage repetitive prayers that have no basis in the word of God, or prayers for the material things that have no value in the plan of God for our lives. Instead, this has everything to do with asking for mercy and justice against the adversary who is constantly at work against us and our families. Because He is the mastermind behind the conflict that steals our joy at home, the poverty that makes others question whether we have God at all, the promotion that is denied us at our workplaces, the endless cycle of promise and sale, the business that is never thriving, our wayward children, and all our fears about tomorrow. Beloved, in view of all these disputes that we find ourselves in with the enemy, we, like the persistent widow, must be relentless in prayer. Even the unjust judge granted the request of the persistent widow, how much more are living and are just, Father? He will grant our requests so that our joy will be complete. Therefore, we must not stop praying until we see a turnaround of events, because because the devil does not rest. He is always looking around for whom he may devour. Let us not just pray about these day and night, but also back our prayers with faith hinged on the word of God, believing that He will bring us justice according to His mercies like the judge did for the persistent widow. Amen. God bless you. Beloved, our memory verse for today would be from Luke chapter 18 the verse 7. Luke chapter 18 the verse 7. We'll be reading from the New King James Version. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? Amen. Shall we please share a word of prayer? Heavenly Father, we thank you so much for your word that has come to us this morning. We pray for grace to remain persistent in prayer so that we can push through and receive justice against the adversary. In Jesus mighty name have we prayed with thanksgiving. Amen. God bless you so much for being a part of today's morning glory devotion. Kindly stay connected to Radio HCI today for more Spirit-filled content. Shalom and have a fruitful day.
