The speaker welcomes listeners to a Morning Glory Devotion and leads a prayer. They read a verse from Joshua 1 and introduce the theme of "Undying Hope." They read passages from Matthew 19 and 1 Corinthians 13 that emphasize the importance of faith, hope, and love. They discuss the foundations of undying hope, including belief in God's existence, God's care, and God's ability to do the impossible. They encourage listeners to trust in God's promises and accomplishments as recorded in the Bible. They conclude with a prayer for God's continued revelation and power in their lives.
Shalom, wonderful family, and welcome to today's Morning Glory Devotion. God bless you for being a part of the just entered prayer time. My name is Joshua from Harvest Chapel International Alkmaarfe and it is a privilege to be facilitating today's Morning Glory Devotion. Let us pray. Father, we thank you for another wonderful day. Lord, this morning we pray for your presence to be with us as we study your word. As we listen to your word, reveal yourself to us more and more and let hope be renewed in us.
Cause our faith to be perfected, in the name of Jesus we pray for thanksgiving, Amen. Let us take our confession from Joshua 1 verse 8. Joshua 1 verse 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success, Amen.
The theme for today's devotion is Undying Hope. This is part three of a five-part series and our scripture readings for today will be from Matthew chapter 19 verse 23-26 and 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 13. Matthew chapter 19 verse 23-26 I'll be reading from the World English Bible. Jesus said to his disciples, Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the kingdom of heaven with difficulty. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter into God's kingdom.
When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, Who then can be saved? Looking at them, Jesus said, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Amen. 1 Corinthians chapter 13 verse 13 I'll be reading from the New Living Translation. Three things will last forever, faith, hope, and love, and the richness of these is love. Amen. In our previous discourses on the theme of Undying Hope, we have looked at how the hope of the believer is unique in that it is built on unchanging truth.
We mentioned that the undying hope of the believer is built on four foundations which are 1. God is 2. God cares 3. God can and 4. God will. We have looked at the first foundation, the conscious deliberate conviction of the existence of God and why it is essential, and we have also looked at the second foundation, which is the knowledge and understanding of the love of God. We mentioned that the knowledge and the assurance that God cares for you is an essential one, especially because we live in a fallen world filled with pain and suffering.
Today, we want to proceed to the third foundation of the undying hope of the believer, which is the knowledge and understanding that nothing is impossible for God. God can. In today's first passage, we see the Lord Jesus himself saying categorically that with God, all things are possible. Just before he makes that statement, he describes how difficult it would be for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven. From Jesus' description, his disciples couldn't help but inquire if it was even possible for any man to be saved.
One thing I found extremely comforting and reassuring in this short exchange between Jesus and his disciples is that there is hope or salvation for everyone. No matter how difficult it may seem, with God, it will be possible. No matter how difficult it may seem, with God, it will be possible. Beloved, God is an expert in the saving business and in doing the impossible. When you make a habit of reading the scriptures, you will soon realize that the entire Bible is, basically, God presenting to you his CV, full of records of his accomplishments, one impossible thing after another.
As many of us know, a person's CV or resume is simply a document that gives the reader or prospective employer an idea of the person's capabilities. The simple conclusion that anyone can reach after reading the Bible is, God can. Beloved, God does not lie. Whatever he says he will do, he does. Once he has said it, he will do it. The scriptures say in Numbers chapter 23 verse 19 that God is not a man that he should lie or a son of man that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? Beloved, I believe that there should never be a reason to doubt what God can do. I believe that the most useless endeavor that any believer can indulge in is doubting what God can do, because what could possibly be too difficult to accomplish for the creator of the universe? Beloved, do not waste your time considering what things God can do and what things he cannot do.
Do not waste your breath debating who God can save and who he cannot save. Simply take him at his word and let his testimony throughout the scriptures be ample assurance for you. Why don't you take some time today and learn more about his incredible accomplishments littered in the pages of the Bible? You will quickly realize that your situation is not an impossible one with God on your side and no situation will ever be impossible. This is what makes the knowledge of the truth that God can the foundation of the undying hope of the believer.
Amen. Let us take our memory verse from Jeremiah chapter 32 the verse 27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me? Amen. Let us pray. Father, we thank you for your word that has come to us today. We pray that you will continue to reveal yourself to us as the God who is able. Make us recipients and beneficiaries of the incredible workings of your power and grace so that we will be living, walking testimonies that there is nothing too hard for you.
Thank you that you have done exceedingly and abundantly far above all we can ask, think or imagine. In the name of Jesus we pray with thanksgiving. Amen. Thank you for listening and stay tuned for more spirit filled content on Radio HCI today. Until we come your way once again tomorrow morning at the same time, do stay blessed.
