The Making of Champions - I have A Dream

I'm Francis Apia and I'll be taking us through our morning glory devotion for today. Let's share a word of prayer. Our Father who art in heaven, we glorify your name this morning. We ask in the mighty name of Jesus that you speak to us through your word and help us to be doers of the same, in Jesus mighty name, Amen. Beloved, let's take a confession from the book of Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the Lord shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success. Beloved, our topic for today is the making of champions. I have a dream. The making of champions. I have a dream. And our scripture is taken from Genesis chapter 37 verse 5 to 11. I read from the King James Version. And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren, and they hated him yet the more. And he said unto them, Here I pray you this dream which I have dreamed. For behold, we were binding sheep in the field, and lo, my sheep rose, and also stood upright. And behold, the sheep stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheep. And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? Or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams and for his works. And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more. And behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father and to his brethren. And his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? And his brethren envied him, but his father observed the saying, I have a dream. Every champion has a dream. The champion is fueled by his dreams. The champion says, I am not here just to be born, exist, and take up space and die. I am here to follow my dreams and go after them with everything I have. As God's upcoming champions, we are called to have faith in God's plan for our lives and trust that he has a purpose for everything that happens to us. One of the most inspiring examples of this kind of faith can be found in the life of Joseph, the son of Jacob, who became God's champion. He read about Joseph's dream of becoming a great leader, which he shared with his family. His dream was so vivid and compelling that it caused his brothers to become jealous and resentful, ultimately leading to his zeal into slavery and years of hardship. But even in the midst of his struggles, Joseph remained faithful to God and trusted in his plan. He knew that his dream was not just a fanciful vision, but a calling from God to fulfill a purpose greater than himself. As we reflect on the life of Joseph and his dream, we can draw inspiration and encouragement in our own lives. Just like Joseph, we too may have dreams and aspirations given to us by God that sometimes seem impossible or unlikely to come true. But as Christians, we know that nothing is impossible with God and he can even use even our most difficult circumstances for his glory. So if you have a dream, hold onto it tightly and trust in God's plan for your life. Know that he has a purpose for everything that happens to you and that he is working all things together for your good. Whether your dream is to become a leader like Joseph or something else entirely, know that with faith and perseverance, all things are possible in Christ and with God on our side. The scripture reminds us that God has a plan for our lives and we can trust him to guide us and give us strength as we pursue our dreams. We believe and know that with faith and perseverance, we can overcome any obstacle and fulfill the calling that God has placed on our lives. Amen. Thank you for the example of Joseph and his unwavering faith in you and your plans for his life. Father, we pray that you help us to trust in your plans for our lives.
