The speaker expresses gratitude for the fruitful week and thanks the listeners for participating in prayer and devotion. They then lead a prayer and reading from the book of Joshua. The main topic is obedience, with part one discussing Abraham's obedience and part two exploring the consequences of obedience. The speaker shares examples of obedience and disobedience from the Bible and encourages listeners to obey divine instructions. They emphasize the rewards and blessings that come from obedience and urge listeners not to give up. The memory verse is from Galatians and a closing prayer is offered. The listeners are invited to attend Sunday and Tuesday services. The message concludes with a blessing.
Ebenezer, this is how far the Lord has brought us. We are so grateful, beloved, unto the Almighty God for bringing us to the end of such a fruitful week. And thank you also for making the time with us to love this entire week, both for our morning prayer times and our morning prayer devotion. This morning is yet another blessed episode that is here to nourish your soul. My name is Ohene Bakuse Kinsford and as mentioned yesterday, today we'll take part two of our lesson on obedience.
Before we enter into the Word of God, can we just start off in a time of prayer? Father, we thank you so much for today. We thank you for this opportunity to hear your word as our children. We pray that you speak unto our hearts. You speak in a way that you will understand and relate, to bear fruits our lives will remain the same. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Shall we kindly take our confession together from the book of Joshua chapter 1 verse 8.
Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the law shall not depart out of my mouth, but I shall meditate in it day and night, that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success. Amen. Beloved, as mentioned earlier, today we'll be taking part two of our lesson on obedience. In part one yesterday, we looked at the life of Abraham, the patriarch of faith, and we learned that it is only by faith which is demonstrated through obedience that we would be able to please God and make it in our journey with Him.
In part two today, we will consider the consequences of obedience. The consequences of obedience. And we'll take our anchor scripture from Genesis chapter 22. We'll read from verse 1 to 2, 1 to 2, and then from verse 16 to 18. Genesis chapter 22, verse 1 to 2, and from verse 16 to 18. I'm reading from the New King James Version. Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham and said to him, Abraham, and he said, here I am.
Then he said, take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah and offer him there as a bent offering on one of the mountains, of which I shall tell you. Verse 16. By myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son. Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sun which is on the seashore.
And your descendants shall possess the gifts of their enemies. In your seed, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice. In your seed, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice. The consequences of obedience. Because the walk with God is a walk of faith and not by sight, the deliverer will oftentimes be giving instructions to follow without vivid explanations as to why those instructions are given.
At times, God may give only a glimpse and not the entire picture of what is at stake. God had previously promised Abraham to multiply him and make his descendants great. But through Abraham's obedience to God's instruction to sacrifice his only son, God was provoked to confirm the promise with an immutable oath by swearing by man adare at himself. On the other hand, King Saul had the opportunity to have the kingdom of Israel established in his hands.
But he lost the chance because of disobedience to the vivid instructions of the Lord to destroy all the Amalekites, even after his disobedience in offering sacrifice in the stead of Prophet Samuel. Beloved, none of these two men knew the consequences of their obedience, and the same is true for us in most cases. It is only by obedience that you can receive what God has clearly planned for you. Beloved, has God been instructing you concerning an area of your life? Are there divine instructions that you are struggling to follow through? I encourage you to obey, because you have no idea of the blessings that your obedience would provoke on your behalf, or the deliverances to wait for you.
Don't give up on obeying the Lord concerning those instructions that you have been prosecuting for a while now, because you have no knowledge of what is happening at the back end, when exactly your visitation will come, and the eternal records and rewards being laid out for you. Truly, obeying the Lord does not come easily. However, when we fix our eyes on our desire to please God, on our quest to succeed in this journey with Him, on the rewards and great good that may follow our obedience, and by asking the Holy Spirit for help, we will be encouraged and empowered to follow through and not give up.
Beloved, there is a lot at stake, and so we cannot afford to disobey the Lord. In this season, you will reap a bountiful harvest on your obedience, both here on earth and in the eternal age to come. In Jesus' name, Amen. We will take our memory verse from Galatians chapter 6 verse 9. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we don't lose heart. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we don't lose heart.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we don't lose heart. In Jesus' name, Amen. Let us kindly end on a note of prayer. Everlasting Father, we thank you for the word this morning that has come to us. We pray in the name of Jesus that you would help us. Even without seeing what it has taken, without seeing the full picture, we will still continue to trust and obey you, to follow through, to prosecute all that you request of us.
In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen. Beloved, thank you so much. And God bless you for connecting with us throughout this entire morning here on this platform. We know and trust and believe that you are being blessed and nourished. Let's go and continue in this strength. I want to also specially invite you for our Sunday service come tomorrow, our Tuesday service in the morning at 7 a.m. and for our English service at 8.30 a.m. Pick an appointment to join us in person.
Let us share the solution together. And I believe that your life will never remain the same. In Jesus' name, stay blessed and be fruitful. Shalom.
