High school experience depends on one's choices and social interactions. Making friends is important to have a positive experience and someone to confide in. It can be intimidating, but worth it. High school is initially overwhelming, so finding one's own people is crucial. A good experience doesn't require partying or prom, just friends and a positive outlook. It's possible that this perspective is naive. Now, I ask everyone the question, do you think high school has been enjoyable? In my opinion, without a doubt, high school is what you make it. If you stay in the shell and don't make friends, obviously it's going to suck. You're not going to have people to talk to or confide in, and you're going to be stressing all alone. And that's not to discredit those who do struggle with making friends. I acknowledge how intimidating making friends can be, but once you make them, it is so, so worth it. Friends are the sole thing that gets you through high school and makes high school worth experiencing. At first, high school is intimidating and overwhelming, and going through that alone is never fun. So it's important to find your own people before it's too late. You don't have to go out and party and go to prom to have a good high school experience. You just need to have friends and a positive outlook on things. But I don't know, maybe I'm being naive.
