Hogland Ballpark is where the Kansas Jayhawks baseball team plays. The stadium is in good condition and has undergone renovations. It has a seating capacity of 3,000 people and features AstroTurf 3D playing surface. The stadium has received upgrades and has a state-of-the-art feel. It is a beautiful stadium with blue and red colors and is a great place to watch a baseball game. This location can be found in the south part of campus. Right now the team is in season and they are always on the field either practicing or playing games. Around the stadium there are flags that are the color blue and red hanging all the way around. This is how you know they are in season. They put them up and hang them high. This is one of the few stops where the team that plays in this location are actually in season. Right now when walking past the field you can hear the loud pinging noise of a metal bat hitting a hard baseball. This sound can pierce the ears and make a ringing noise. When observing I could hear the players talking and shouting. I could also see everyone on the field and practicing as well. They were preparing for a game the next day. I can hear the sounds of baseballs hitting leather gloves making a loud pop sometimes sounding like a gunshot. When the players practice they play music from the scoreboard out in right field. The scoreboard is a huge scoreboard with an LED screen on it and it has speakers as well. It also displays the time at all hours of the day so players can know what time it is during practice and people can even check the time when walking by. Hoglund Ballpark has been around since 1988. The field is in pretty good condition for being around this long. Hoglund Ballpark is a little smaller than the average D1 baseball field only seating around 3,000 people. However it has some of the best features. The field including the pitcher's mound is covered in AstroTurf 3D playing surface. This limits the number of game postponements due to the often unpredictable weather Kansas gets during the early spring part of its schedule. That had cost around nearly 1.2 million dollars which all came from donors. The stadium has also been through several renovations making it look even better. The walls are covered in a padding that have Jayhawk logos on them all. There are also the colors blue and red which are the team's colors. In 2014 the ballpark received $250,000 worth of upgrades to its indoor facilities, back stops and outfield wall padding, pitching mound and bullpens. Hoglund Ballpark has been through many renovations since it opened in 1988. This allowed for more state of the art feel to the stadium and led to more fan enjoyment. When you go to the field for a game the stadium looks beautiful with the colors of crimson and blue and with the backdrop of colorful trees as well. Hoglund Ballpark is a beautiful stadium where people can go catch a baseball game with their friends and family. The Jayhawks play on almost any day of the week so it's pretty easy to find time to watch a baseball game. It provides a fun experience along with some great food.
