Talk: 19890420-Larry_Rosenberg-UNK-anapanasati_full_awareness_of_breath_series_tape_10-33813 Leandra Tejedor Start_time: 00:40:03 Display_question: At first, the kind of walking we did might seem artificial and mechanical and so forth. Did anyone find any value in it? Keyword_search: breath, distraction, calm, walking meditation, concentration, samadhi, suffering Question_content: Questioner: It really felt good. It felt as if there was absolutely no room for distraction. The fact that I had to coordinate, meant that there was no room for anything to come in. And I felt extremely calm after that short period of time. Larry: I understand. If you blow it in this one, it's pretty obvious. I mean, you get immediate feedback. You're just not really doing it. Questioner: I'm not suggesting to do this, but I was so taken by that coordination with the method that afterwards I felt frustrated that I couldn't keep as much concentration at the nostril. And I thought, well, what can I do? Maybe if I move my finger back and forth going in and out with the breath in that same kind of coordination, maybe I can capture the same thing. So, it was as if I was trying to capture that thing again. Larry: Something else to let go of. Questioner: Yeah. Larry: Every time we do that, we suffer no matter what it is. It's very good for samadhi practice. You saw that. You can get very, very calm, very quickly, and then just go to the sitting. Don't try to take it with you. It's too much, too bureaucratic, or something, too precise. And if you're not drawn to it, and you would rather do the other form that we've been doing, fine. It doesn't matter. End_time: 00:41:36
