The speaker recalls their first soccer game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum when they were two years old. It was a match between Club America and River Plate. They remember taking the bus to the game and being overwhelmed by the crowd, noise, and smells. They hid their head in their mom's arms until their team scored a goal, which made them excited and more comfortable. This experience made them fall in love with the sport and want to attend more games, although they sometimes prefer watching from home. When I was two years old, my parents took me and my brother to our first ever soccer game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. It was a match featuring my family's favorite team, Club America from Mexico, playing against River Plate from Argentina. I recall my family taking the bus to get to the game because we didn't have a car at the time. I can still smell the scent from the hot dog stands and can still picture the sea of yellow and blue around the stadium due to those being the colors of my family's team. I felt overwhelmed by it because it was my first time ever being surrounded by that many people in such a gigantic space with so many noises from drums and trumpets. I ended up hiding my head within my mom's arms because I couldn't handle all the noise. It wasn't until our first team scored the first goal of the game that I got spooked by so many people yelling which led my mom to pick my head up and encourage me to yell goal in celebration. At that moment, it all kind of clicked and I started to feel more comfortable with my surroundings and started to enjoy what I was watching. This one moment led me to fall in love with the sport from then on and want to go to as many games as possible. While I still love the game very much, sometimes I would rather watch it from the comfort of my own home.
