The speaker requests others to be vigilant during the voting process. Good morning. I just finished my voting. And my district is 31 Shantinagar 163. And the part number is 17. That's an also St. Anne's convent. Now, when I went into the into the booth, you know, the first person takes my part number and they find out where I am in the register. Then I in the second person, I've got to sign, then the third person, he puts the marking on the finger. And now please listen carefully. At this point, he is supposed to press the button on his master control unit to activate the actual voting machine, which is behind the, you know, the hidden panels. So I went in there, and I pressed the button and I didn't hear any sound. You know, I didn't hear the VV part machine showing the picture of my candidate and so on so forth. So I waited about, you know, almost 1015 seconds and I press the button again. And still there is no no sound of the VV part, you know, the picture being displayed and the beep occurring. So I got a little bit annoyed and I went to the third person, the guy who actually puts the ink on the finger, and whose job is, it is to activate the voting machine by pressing the activate button on the control panel. So I got annoyed and I said, Why haven't you pressed the control panel button? So he gave me a sheepish grin. And so I spoke with the presiding officer. Also, I said, Do you think I've come from some village or something? So my caution to you and for your awareness is, when you get your finger marked, just stay put at the third person's place who is also doing the control panel, make sure that he activates the voting machine. After you physically recognize that he has pressed that button, then go behind the voting booth in the voting area with the VV or with the EVM is and then press your button and immediately the green light should be on. Right, you will be able to see that the green light is on in both the cases. Now the tragedy is that I have had people I've actually seen people before me in the line, actually leave the booth area with their markings and all the rest of it. And I hadn't heard any beep from the machine. So this is the tragedy, what is going to happen is later on, they just fill the numbers there, they know exactly, you know what the situation is, and they will, they will pad up the rest with their own candidates. Right? So what I'm what I'm requesting is please make sure that when you are at the third person, and the ink is applied to your finger at that instant, just stay put there and make sure that the person has activated the voting machine, then you can go behind the hidden panel there with the cardboard hidden panel, and make sure that the green lights on the EVMs are on. If they are not on, go back again and tell him to put it on. And once it is on, then of course, you know the rest of the process, you will press the button while you press the button, make sure that the VV pad machine is available to you. Right? So elderly people and all these people, you know, they just simply walk through the machine is not activated, they press the button and they walk out thinking that everything has happened.
