The speaker talks about the importance of discipline in achieving success. They mention that without discipline, motivation and determination are not enough to reach goals. They emphasize the need to block out distractions and treat every day as an opportunity to work hard. Consistency is highlighted as a key factor in building discipline, and the speaker encourages making small progress each day. They mention the 1% rule, which states that improving by just 1% each day can lead to significant change over time. Overcoming resistance and negative voices in one's head is also discussed. The speaker concludes by urging listeners to discipline themselves and make positive changes in order to be ready for the summer. I can't wait for this summer. I'm going to better myself completely. I can't wait for this summer. I'm going to better myself completely. That's something I'm sure a lot of you have said or thought about. Well summer has just arrived and if you want to completely change in just a few short weeks then keep an open mind on what I'm about to say. I truly believe that if you could only watch one more video on YouTube... I truly believe that if you could only watch one more video on YouTube, it should be this one. Without discipline, there is no success. Look I've been there. I know it's hard and it genuinely sucks. I know you want to work hard because you wouldn't be watching a video like this otherwise, but doesn't it feel like something is always holding you back, like an indescribable force stopping you from completing your tasks? Even if you are motivated, your brain can stop you from achieving your goals. Think about it like this. Your brain is so unbelievably powerful that if your motivation and determination is weaker than its need for dopamine or its crave for procrastination, you won't get anywhere. This is where discipline comes from. You're not going to get through those hard tasks and work hard for hours a day off of sheer willpower and motivation. No, it's going to take a lot more than that. You have to block out all other thoughts and just do it. I don't care if you hate it or if you really don't feel like doing it. The more you do it, the more you do stuff you hate, the more you trick your brain into thinking it's just a part of your daily routine. And that's how you discipline yourself. You have to treat every day like a Monday and every month like a January. It's either the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. Don't you want that sense of accomplishment and become that person nobody else thought you could? And become that person nobody thought you could become? I read a snippet and it really opened my eyes. You read, what do you want more, knowing that you made it or show others that you have? Consistency is how you build discipline. If you're waking up later than 8 p.m., what are you doing with your life? You're wasting valuable time that you could be using to work. Consistency could be used for anything. If you wake up every day at 7, even if you're used to waking up at noon, within a week your body will naturally wake up earlier. If you drink more water and stop drinking those toxic chemicals they put in drinks nowadays, your body will naturally want to drink more water. Depending on what you do, it might take a week, a month, a year, but just be consistent. Do you really want to think to yourself, damn, if it takes a year, I shouldn't do it because that takes a long time. But then a year later comes around. You never started and you're in the same place as you were before or worse. You don't want that realization to hit you. It breaks the human spirit. Little progress each day adds up to big results. It's called the 1% rule. It's called the 1% rule and if you haven't heard of it, let me explain. If you get 1% better at anything every day, even if it's just 1%, you will have become 37 times better in a year from now. That's a lot of change, even if it doesn't seem like it. Remember that force I was talking about? It's called resistance and learning how to overcome it with discipline can completely change your life. With the negative voices in our heads saying that we aren't good enough, strong enough or motivated enough to do this that we want to get rid of, once we do that, we'll be another step closer to getting ready for this summer. Remember, the summer is just around the corner. In fact, it's already here. So the faster you discipline yourself, the more not only yourself but the people around you notice a change. They'll want to be around you more. You'll actually look more mature and enjoyable to hang out with. You have to look at the positives of doing dreadful work. Look for goals, ones that you know you'll accomplish by doing this. Once you see these goals get closer, you'll have more discipline in you to complete your tasks. I didn't continue going to the gym because I enjoyed it. I've heard so many people say that if you go to the gym for three months straight, it'll feel like a regular routine and you'll actually like it. Now, that may work for some people, but I was never able to completely enjoy working out. But I didn't stop because of that. I actually noticed improvements in my physique and that made me want to continue. That's an example I've experienced and something similar might happen to you. Strengthen the muscle of being able to start even in the face of fear. This will make overcoming the resistance of starting into your work so much easier. Your confidence will exponentially grow. Remember what is impossible with man. What is impossible to man is possible with God.
