The transcription is a casual conversation among friends discussing their day and recent music releases. What are you eating? She brought me a sausage pork rigatoni pasta with some light cheese on top. Jeez, what are you eating? Sausage. Sausage. I was expecting like potatoes or something. Oh, no way. Yeah. But you said you brought your food guys and there was some like, alright, whose fault? My bad. Don't worry, I cued it. Okay. Yeah, so I had work today guys and it was slow. So there's that, that's what's been going on with me today. Nice. How did that go? Slow. So what did you do today? Not much, you know, I didn't have to do anything today. I announced it last week that we're coming back to Cali. So it's been a lot of getting ready for that type of stuff. And it's been nice, you know, it's exciting, you know, getting to come back. And, you know, being back with you guys, being back with, you know, my family, my cousins, all that good stuff, you know, it's exciting. And it's just, you know, it's coming faster than I anticipated. So it's like, whoa, just in a few weeks I'll be back home. So it's exciting and it's fun. And, yeah, I'm just having a good time with being here with my wife and her family. And we're all having a good time and enjoying it while we can. So, yeah. What have you been up to, Adam? Yeah, it's cool that you guys had a good time out there. But we're excited to have you back. Yeah. Nothing too crazy. I mean, I'm just hanging out at home. I had a day off today, so I was taking advantage of it and being lazy. I did go and get Jamba Juice. That was like the highlight of my day. Nice. Got some – I don't know if you guys get the bowls over there, the dasai bowls, if you guys have had them before? Oh, yeah, they're pretty good. Yeah, they have like this – I can't remember what it was called. It was like a light blue color. It was like coconut, very tropical. But, yeah, they're phasing it out. So I asked them that and they're like, yeah, it's not on the menu anymore. We're not going to be having it much longer. But they did still have the ingredients, so they made it for me. So that made my day. Oh, that's awesome, dude. Yeah. It's pretty good, too. Supposedly healthy for you, too. So that's why I felt so good about it. Yeah. I think we're all in our healthy girl era right now. We're all losing some weight. Me and Jay, we started a – Healthy girl era? Yeah. What the hell? Duh. It's called the skinny bitch challenge for a reason, guys. Come on. Is that what you guys are calling it? But, yeah, I've been trying to eat healthy, you know, working out and stuff like that. I know all of us kind of have been trying to do that, you know, summer is coming around. But what have you guys been listening to as of recently? I know a lot of people dropped this past week, Khalid, Conan Gray. A few other people got stuff going on, like Doja Cat and stuff. So what did you guys play on that first listen this last weekend? Adam, what did you listen to? Yeah, I was excited about Willis. They dropped an album. We actually promoted it on the stories just announcing that it was coming out that night. And they liked our story, so that was pretty cool. I was pretty excited about that. Not something I expected, but just for them to know we exist, that's pretty cool. So, yeah, I was chilling. I was looking at our, like, story stuff, you know, I was looking through our Instagram and I saw that they liked it. And I was like, what the fuck? So I immediately texted the group chat. I was like, Adam, Adam. And then Jay was conspiring with me. He was like, Adam, Adam. So you finally saw it and you were like, oh, my God, no way. So, yeah, that's pretty cool, dude. Yeah, we've had a few artists talk to us or, like, acknowledge us, you know, our existence and stuff, obviously. But it's cool to see, like, bands that, you know, we like listening to and, like, we've listened to together. It's pretty cool to see them respond to us and acknowledge that we exist, basically. Yeah, it was pretty cool. It was a nice surprise. But they came out with their album, I Can't Thank You Enough, and it was pretty cool. I think we all got a decent listen to it so far. Very mellow, lighter album, nothing too crazy. But it's just really nice to listen to. It's kind of a nice vibe. I feel like they have a very constant way of going about that. I feel like all of their albums are very consistent with getting that same feel. So if you hear, like, their music, you kind of get the feeling, oh, this is Willis, they're Willis. Very distinctive sound that they have. I know, Jay, you get to listen to it. Jay, what was your favorite song from the album? My favorite song definitely was Clear Lake. That one was, like, amazing. Because, I mean, I will say the whole song was, like, the whole album was super sad. Like, listening to the lyrics and stuff like that. Oh, yeah. It was a very sad album. But my other favorites were Perdido and Better Than Love. Those two were actually really good, too. But something about Clear Lake just, like, caught my attention, like, all the way through. And I was just like, man, this is a good song. I added it to my playlist and everything. I'd definitely give it, like, a recommendation if you guys want to go listen to a song. Adam did mention, like, a while back, I forgot what episode it was, but Willis is the one who did the song on TikTok, so just to kind of give anybody a refresher on, like, you know, who they are and, like, you know, where you probably have heard them before. Yeah. Willis is a really good band. Yeah. Yeah, like Jay was saying, I like the song Better Than Love a lot. I don't know. I like the vibe and everything. Like Adam said, they're very chill, cool. And like Jay said, it was fucking sad. But, you know, it's cool to get sad, too, basically. Like we've said before, nothing's wrong with listening to sad music. But if I remember correctly, I was looking at their Instagram the other day. This was their, like, first, like, debut album, right, Adam? I'm sorry. One second. Go ahead. Say it one more time. This is, like, one of their, like, debuts as of, like, a studio album, right? I'm not too sure. I know they've come out with some past stuff. I'm sorry. I did get a little delayed. My laptop was, like, freaking out for a second. I was trying to pull up the information for, like, the album and all that and, like, the lyrics and all that. And my laptop just was not handling it. But, yeah, I was looking at their Instagram. But, yeah, I was looking at their Instagram and it was, like, their first studio album. And I was, like, oh, that's pretty cool. You know, it's cool to see, like, them, like, get traction already off, like, singles and stuff they've had going on and EPs and stuff and then for them to drop this album. And to be as high quality as it was for, like, a first studio album, that's pretty impressive. You know, most bands really can't catch that, like, vibe or that sound until maybe, like, their second or third studio album. But I think they did really good with their first studio album. You know, it sounds good and it seems like they've had a lot of practice with what they've wanted to do and probably had a lot of time to work on this one. So it was cool to hear them and, you know, kind of sound more professional than other bands have on their first studio album. Yeah. Dang. Yeah, no, I see what you're talking about now about it being the debut album. That is really cool. I didn't realize that all this stuff beforehand was, like, EP or, like, smaller stuff. But for them to come out with an album and it be this, like, I feel like it had a good amount of traction just for it being, like, their full album. So I think it's pretty cool. I'm excited for them. I'm hoping that they come out with more pretty soon because I know a lot of artists take forever. But I don't know. Maybe they'll be excited about how well they're doing right now. But, yeah, I'm excited about them. Yeah, music's been really good as of recently. I'm not sure how many of you guys watch Invincible, but I think, like, the second to last episode before the finale, a song was put on there by David. He's a really good artist. He usually makes sad music, but this one was a banger, you know? It was really good. Different from what he usually does. It's called Steal It. And it reminds me a lot of, like, 2023, like, Spider-Verse vibes with, I forget what song it is from there. Sunflower? Mona Lisa. Oh, yeah. Sunflower? Like, Spider-Verse vibes. Like, Sunflower, Mona Lisa, Self Love, all those songs from, like, the previous Spider-Man movies and stuff like that. It reminded me of those vibes. So I'm like, you know, it's good to have, like, another superhero, like, something with a superhero, like, have music going on with the summer, and I think it's going to be a banger for the summer. I've never really listened to David that much except for, like, his TikTok stuff. But I heard this in the show, and I was like, oh, shit, this is cool. And I went to go look at who was singing it, and I was like, oh, shit. Okay. So he's doing a bit different stuff now, so it's good to see that he's getting into his bag and, like, being able to reach different stuff vocally. I thought it was pretty cool. There's actually another song that he has, too, called Sleep Well. I definitely recommend that one as well. Going into the whole, going into, like, his voice and, like, how you were saying it sounds like a Spider-Verse thing, I don't know if anybody else wants to hear this or not and how excited I am for it, but he was live streaming recently, and he was watching Invincible, and someone in the chat actually said, oh, this song gives me Spider-Verse vibes. Like, this song reminds me of Miles and Glenn. And he just paused the show, and he looked at the camera, and he was like, I can't say anything, guys. Like, but. Oh. Oh, wow. He's like, beyond the Spider-Verse, beyond the Spider-Verse. And he was like, I can't say anything more. I can't say shit. I won't say anything else but just have faith in me, all right? And I was like, oh, my God, no way. Like, if he appears on the album and if Metro Boomin comes back and he's, like, helping David out, you know, oh, my gosh, I'm going to freak out. He's freaking great. I know Metro Boomin works really good with a lot of people, especially singers. Like, Metro Boomin works really good with rappers, but he can do wonderful shit with singers as well. So I'm excited to see what he does. Hopefully Metro does come back for this next movie and stuff. I'm excited for it. I'm excited he's going to be on that fucking album. You know, Metro fucking brought the Avengers together for that last album with a crossover. Yeah, it was a banger, dude. Like, usually I don't listen to movie soundtracks. I think the last one I did listen to was Into the Spider-Verse, and the last one before that was the Black Panther one from Kendrick Lamar, which was fucking amazing. And so as far as, like, movie soundtracks go, Metro Boomin is really up to his game, considering the last time I was really fucking with one was, like, Kendrick Lamar's, like, Black Panther or the last one before Across the Spider-Verse. So it's cool to see that these movie soundtracks are kind of appealing to the audience more, especially with Spider-Man because Spider-Man is such a, I don't know, he's such a character that everyone can relate to and, like, kind of be like, oh, yeah, I love Spider-Man. So it's cool to have, like, that music kind of come in and be like, oh, yeah, you can relate to him and listen to these bangers as well, you know? Yeah. Yeah, I think it's really nice when they have, like, a good song to complement the, say, show or whatever, like, say, Spider-Verse or movie or whatever. It kind of makes it nostalgic to that time when you were watching the, say, movie or episode and just kind of makes it more than just the song. It's part of a bigger part. So it makes it a lot nicer to be able to listen to it and kind of get a little nostalgic about it later on. Yeah. I mean, we could go into, like, some more stuff about that if, you know, the listeners would be down to kind of have that. Maybe we'll do a poll on Instagram or something. Because I like the idea of, like, doing, like, soundtracks in movies that just fit, like, so well. I mean, there's – you've got to think about, like, yeah, Guardians of the Galaxy is literally one of my favorite ones. All three of them. You have movies that are, like, the movie My Girl. I don't know if you guys have seen that movie. Of course. That whole movie has a good soundtrack. Stand By Me has a good soundtrack. All the Spider-Verse movies have a good soundtrack. Some TV shows have great soundtracks. Think about regular show. They literally use almost every, like, 80s, like, 90s rock, you know, all the time. And it's so good. Specifically. Exactly, yeah. So we can dive into that kind of stuff, you know. It's not technically musicals, but there are soundtracks that really help out the movie. And there's some songs on there that just kind of, like, make you appreciate it even more. I agree with you on that. One that I was, like, I was waiting to say it is Barbie. It dropped last summer, and it was a fucking banger, especially with the song I'm Just Ken, and it went on to, like, you know, winning – I forgot what it won, but it won an award. It won an Oscar. Yeah, yeah, it won an award. Holy shit. Billy won the Oscar for her song for Barbie. I forgot what it was called. What was that made for? Yeah, what was that made for? I know that song was freaking perfect. Dude, I watched that movie for the first time with Ureli. Opening night, we went to go watch it. It was, like, the opening of it all, and I was like, you know what, let's go. Let's go watch it. And we were sitting there watching it, and Ureli was like, I wonder when they're going to play Billy's song. And, you know, they played it, and we were sitting there. And usually I'm not, like, fucking one to, like, watch a movie that brings so much, like, social justice or politics into it. But with this one, it was like, damn, like, fucking – you know, you don't really think about it as a guy until you see it on screen, and you're like, oh, shit, this is a fucking – this hits a little bit harder than I expected. And with that song playing in the background, I was like, yeah, okay, I can see why they wanted Billie Eilish to be on this and do this. And every time I hear that song, I think of Barbie and, like, how nostalgic it is. I can only imagine how nostalgic it is for a woman as well, like, hearing that song and be like, oh, this is the song that, like, wasn't Barbie and made me feel this certain type of way. So, yeah, I think they did a really good job on that movie. And as far as, like, TV show-wise goes, I was thinking the boys, they're really good with their, like, their soundtracks and stuff like that, whatever they got going on, like, especially with crazy scenes with, like, Homelander and shit. Like, it's, like, it really ups the ante when he's going batshit crazy and they have a bad-ass song playing in the background. They have – I don't know if you guys have seen Umbrella Academy at all. Oh, yeah, I've seen it. Yeah, they have some really cool, like, episodes where they have some, like, random – it's – I don't know how to go about it. It's just very – let me start that over. I don't even know where I'm going. But in Umbrella Academy, they have episodes where they'll, like, highlight a certain song or – I think they did it a couple of times, I've noticed, I'm not caught up yet. But they'll kind of just spotlight, like, a little section where they're going to play a song and everybody's going to be dancing. It's going to feel like a little musical, almost, like, a few minutes throughout that song. It's just really cool. It's not part of, like – it feels like you're watching a different show for a little bit. It's just something, like, very immersive, like, something exciting, just a little fun bit, part of the show, just, like, gets you going, like, OK, this is really cool. Of course, the one that they played that's probably my favorite was Dancing in the Moonlight. It was a really cool little scene where they had two of the characters dancing together, and it was just a really cool – like, it wasn't exactly – it wasn't the original. It was, like, a different version of it that made it a little bit more sentimental to the moment of the story. It was a really cool moment. Like, whenever I hear that song, like, I got to think of that scene. There's different parts of the show where I think of different scenes. Like, I can picture the scene by hearing the song. So it's really cool that they're able to do that. Yeah, I agree with you on that. I saw the trailer recently for Joker 2 coming out, and Lady Gaga's obviously going to be in it. It's going to be heavily, like – music's going to be, like, a heavy influence on the film, obviously, as it's being portrayed kind of as a musical and stuff like that. I'm honestly really excited for it, considering Joaquin Phoenix is, you know, a great actor as he is, and then Lady Gaga has just been, like, fucking amazing. I think the last movie she was in was Star is Born, and that movie was, like, fucking great from what I've heard. I haven't seen it, obviously, but it's been great. Like, I've heard nothing but good things about it, and it's great musically-wise as well. I think Bradley Cooper was in it. But with Joker 2 coming out and it being a musical and, like, heavily influenced by, like, the music they're going to be using and stuff like that, it just further, like, shows, like, how much music can, like, help a movie out and stuff like that. But it was weird. I was looking at Instagram and I was looking at the comments and stuff. People were not excited about this movie being a musical. If anything, they're quite kind of mean about it. Like, like, oh, fuck this movie. We're not going to go watch it because it's a musical. And I'm just like, that's weird, dude. Like, you would think since music is such a huge, like, powerful tool nowadays, you'd want to go watch it. But I guess people are just, like, so caught up in, like, the Broadway musical stuff they don't want to fucking even pay attention to what's going to be happening in this movie, which is kind of sad. But here, okay, here's the thing about that. And I get why they're not like that. I'm all for the movie being a musical. I'm so for it. But only because, like, the Joker is, like, a showman. Not to get, like, sidetracked, you know, but, like, the Joker is a showman. You know, like, he's, like, he likes to put on performances. He likes to make people wince and cry and laugh and do all that. Like, that's his whole persona. And he's crazy, you know. And I don't know if, like, anybody's, like, kind of, like, seen this part in the trailer yet. If you guys have watched it already. But there's a part where they're beginning to dance, and it's, like, on the rooftop. And it immediately reminds me of Jack Nicholson's scene with Batman. And he literally says, have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight? And literally, like, that cinematography already gave me La La and Vibes, which is already an amazing movie, too, if you guys haven't watched it. Go watch it. The soundtrack is beautiful. Ryan Gosling's in it. Emma Stone is in it. It's amazing. But that's the thing. Like, even in the comics, the TV shows and the cartoons and the movies, like, the Joker's always been known to put on a show. So that's why I feel like it just fits. Like, I feel like the first movie was his deranged mental downfall, and this is going to be him, like, embracing himself in a way. I feel like that's how it's going to be. And then he's, like, in the trailer, he also said, I'm not alone finally. So it's going to be, like, bringing in Harley as well. So I'm excited for it. I'm so hyped. Yeah, same here. I think it's going to be really different than, like, obviously the first one was, which was amazing. Hard to believe that movie came out almost, like, six years ago now. So it's, like, never getting old. I don't know. Yeah, it's been six years. And, like, just to remind you guys, Endgame was about, like, six years ago now as well. So that's just showing how old we are. Oh, man. So I'm excited for everything going on. Going back to the whole, like, talking about Billie Eilish, we did see that last episode we were talking about how she put everybody on her Close Friends page to maybe promote an album. And so it's out now. I mean, not the album, but, like, it's out. Like, the news is out. She is releasing an album. And there was actually some drama that Marlene was telling me about. So shout-out to my fiancé for filling me in on this information. But she was telling me that Rolling Stone was the one who actually released the title name of the album before Billie even announced it. Oh, yeah. I heard about that. And Billie was pissed. So I was like, oh, shit, like, this is – that's not good, you know. I mean, all over, everywhere, she was like, fuck Rolling Stone, you know. Like, I can't believe they would do that. You know, this is supposed to be, like, a treat for the fans. They're not supposed to know. It's supposed to be all this big surprise, you know. So I don't blame her. I mean, Rolling Stone has made those kind of top 50, like, artists top 50, this and that, and they're so wrong. So I'm all in on Rolling Stone for that. Yeah, that was pretty messed up. I saw that all over Instagram, and I was like, what the hell? Like, why would they do that, you know? I've never been a fan of Rolling Stone, though, either. They're really just hypocritical about everything. They don't necessarily like anything unless it's by, like, a white artist. And just being honest here, I think the only white artist that they don't like is Eminem because he doesn't stick with the status quo, which I love that for him. Yeah. But, you know, I don't fuck with him at all. Yeah, but I am really excited for the album. I mean, when – because she posted the little teaser video for it, and she was talking about it in her Instagram. But in the video, you can hear the start of the song brewing, and, man, it sounds good. The production and, like, the instrumentals to it already is, like, I want more. Like, I'm fiending for more. Is there anything you can compare it to? Honestly, it sounds like its own thing. Like, that's why I'm excited for it. Good, yeah. It's cool. The album rollout reminds me a lot of Travis Scott's Utopia in the ways of how much hype it has created. I mean, it's been a minute since he's dropped an album, obviously, and same with Travis Scott before he dropped Utopia. But the rollout is just very – I like when artists do this, like these rollouts and stuff like that. It's not for them, and obviously it's for promotion for the album, but it's cool for the fans to get so excited and be, like, hyping it up, like analyzing when they're dropping it and stuff like that. I remember people were, like, trying to analyze when Utopia was dropping by, like, looking at certain dates that Travis Scott had, like, put on his story and stuff like that, and it's, like, it's cool. You know, these rollouts really help out with artists and stuff like that. But then you have artists like Eminem who doesn't even need a rollout, and he just drops it, and the hype for the album is just there up within seconds. So either you do a rollout or not, I think rollouts are just fun for the fans, honestly. Yeah, it's nice to have something to look forward to, but, I mean, when you drop something just out of nowhere and unexpected, that also gets a huge amount of traction because it's instant. Like, some person finds it, and it's, like, everywhere all of a sudden. So they each have their perks, but, I mean, I'd rather know ahead of time. I'd like to ask them to look forward to it, to know that I have something that's going to be coming out soon that's going to be new and exciting. Yeah. Speaking of people dropping stuff out of nowhere, J. Cole, man. J. Jermaine fucking Cole, dude. After we recorded our episode last Thursday, I was just, you know, doing the process of editing, all that fun stuff, and I looked at my Spotify, and I was just chilling, and I was like, oh, what's new? You know, let's go look. I know some albums are dropping tonight. And I went to go look at Conan Gray, and I saw his album dropping. I was like, oh, cool, I'm going to give this a listen. You know, I was going to give that a first spin. And then I saw what else in my what's new, and it said J. Cole. And I was like, excuse me? And I just fucking ran to it, and I saw it, and I was like, what the shit? Like, surprise album? Okay, dude. And it was good, you know. I might delete later. It was fantastic. I thought it was, you know, really good. And at the end of his little project that he has, because I'm not sure if I can call it an album. Jay, would you call it an album, or are you just like throwaway songs? I don't think they're throwaway songs, because he definitely intended to release them. I mean, Pisces with Ari Lennox was amazing, dude. That was like my favorite song on the album. Or the mixtape, I should say, because that's what I feel like it is. This was a 2001, too, that I highly recommend to listen to as well. But, yeah, go into what you wanted to talk about, because I know there was one thing that you more than wanted to talk about. I got to the end of it. You know, usually when I listen to albums, projects, EPs, I start from the very first song, work my way down to the bottom, because sometimes artists will tell stories the way you listen to songs. So I like to listen to it in order. So I made it all the way down to the bottom, and there was a song called Seven Minute Drill. Before I even got to it, I was on Instagram, and everybody was just talking about it already. The project wasn't even out for like 10 minutes, and everyone was going crazy over the song. So I was like, okay, I'm going to save this for last, you know? And I got to it, and holy shit. He was in his bag. I'll admit to that. He was in his bag. I do say that the Kendrick diss was fucking amazing. When Kendrick was on Like That, that song was fucking, you know, the hype I got when I heard him come on Like That, I was like, holy shit, that's Kendrick. The diss was just loud and fucking like, fuck it, that's me. Fuck the big three, you know? So I was like, oh, okay, okay, I'll fuck with you, Kendrick. And J. Cole was really good as well. J. Cole was more of like a chill, kind of like, ah, if I diss you, I diss you, you know? So he just threw those shots in there like it was nothing. And I thought it was really good. I was like, okay, J. Cole, we got a little rap war going on. I'm excited for it. Yeah, he fucking killed that. He does this thing called Dreamville every year. And it's basically like, yeah, like a music festival where he has artists who are assigned to Dreamville come on, sing, rap, do what they want to do, stuff like that, like J.I.D. A few other artists were up on that stage that night. He apologized for dissing Kendrick Lamar. And as a big J. Cole fan, I think I was like, what the fuck, dude? Like, why? I didn't understand. I get it morally, like, oh, I love Kendrick and I love him so much, blah, blah, blah. I don't know, dude. It's sort of a song where he's just like he raps about, you know, being the GOAT and being the best. Like, dude, if you're the GOAT, supposedly, like, why are you apologizing for some shit you rapped about? I mean, if anything, he should be apologizing for some of the bars he said pre the songs. You guys know what I'm talking about. But, hey, I don't know. I didn't get, I don't understand why the apology, if he went out of his way to make a diss and then, you know, not even a week later apologize about it. I don't know. That kind of just took away his credibility as rapping. So I'm just like, I don't know, dude. Like, I love you, Cole, but I don't know. Whatever he drops, but I wouldn't say that. That man is washed. He's like all the hype that I had for the fall off, just down in your vein after he apologized. I was like, come on, bro. Like, this is your last, this is supposedly your last album. You're going to go out with a bang. I was so excited. Like I'm, I'm, I'm all for Kendrick right now. I'm all on Kendrick side. I don't give a fuck who else tries to battle him. Supposedly Drake's dropping this Friday. I've been hearing about that and it's supposed to be a dish. It's called nuclear. Something like that. And then, yeah, so I'm, I'm all for it. I'm all for, you know, rap battles and stuff like that. I loved it when, when Eminem and MGK did it because Eminem just fucking killed it. And he murdered MGK. But I was excited when J Cole. Like did the, did the, did the dish. I was really excited because I was like, damn, this is great. And you're going to respond. We might get a Drake dish and then Kendrick is going to respond to that one too. Like we're going to get like Kendrick. And that's the thing. There's a, there's a, there's a song. I don't know what song it's called, but I've been seeing, I've been seeing like little things all over Twitter, all over Instagram where Kendrick basically kind of predicted this whole shit. You know, but he said in one song, he said, like one of the lines literally was it's crazy how one, one, one verse can change the game. Like instantly can ruin it. And I was like, yup. Like that's literally what it was. And everyone's saying that J Cole's, this was better than Kendrick's, but J Cole had a three minute song. Kendrick only had like 30 seconds. The whole point, sadly, the whole point people were listening to you because you added this against Kendrick. And the same can go for Kendrick now because only people are going to listen to him now is because he's dissing rappers. And that's, if we're being honest, it's the only reason why people are talking about him. And Jay Cole did have a point, but he took it back. I, I, I don't know. Some of the things that Cole brought up on that dish were valid. If I'm being honest, he, I mean, it's true. If Kendrick wasn't dissing, no one really would be talking about him. Everyone would be talking about him on that feature. Obviously like, oh, that was cool. And it get old in the week. Just like how we don't trust you got old in the week. Like, I don't, I really don't listen to it that much anymore. The repay value on that is terrible. So I agree with that. Just that one song is pretty good. So, but if he, if it was just a feature, if he would have died off, just like the album has, but since he did this, everyone's talking about it. And that happens to everybody. Like, I mean, look at Megan Thee Stallion. She made that one diss and Nicki Minaj dropped his. And since then, no one's really talked about it. If I'm being honest. Like, you know, it's, when you, when you diss somebody, the whole rap game goes crazy, especially when you diss somebody as big as Cole and Drake. So, I mean, marketing wise, Kendrick knew what he was doing to get himself, you know, kind of more involved within the rap game again. Make a diss. And that's exactly what he did. And he made a fucking good one. Like he said, one person can change the game and it fucking did. Like, look how crazy everybody was going over it. So I was like, okay, okay. So it was exciting because like, you don't see these rap battles often, especially with like the, like as big as the big three are, like those big three names. But to see Cole kind of just step down and crumble, I was just like, okay, dude, either this is fake or you're just a pussy. Because I'm like, either you're doing this for a marketing strategy and you're still wanting to do that collab album with Kendrick because, you know, that's probably your last saving grace or you're just, you're not a dick anymore and maybe you're just too old for this now. And well, then again, all three of these fuckers are too old for this. But yeah, the whole idea of being able to like just diss rappers and like, I feel like that's just kind of the game. Like when you're in the rapping scene, like you just got to kind of throw shade at other people and it'll come back around and just kind of recycle that momentum. And it kind of just keeps making music somehow. So I don't, I just don't get why he would go through all the effort to continue that go and drop the album, do his diss, whatever, and then go back on it so quickly. I mean, give it some time. It was just so soon. So I don't know. I just feel like that's the part that looks bad. Like I, but in his defense, I do get where he's coming from, like negative world, wants to be positive, but I just feel like it's unfortunate for him that that's not really his audience to accept that the way he wanted people to kind of sister him. But I mean, I get what he was saying. Like it was a good message. I mean, I know a lot of the people who wanted to see it as good. They did see it that way, but like through fans, I know they weren't too happy because they want more. They want somebody who's going to be more willing to do what it takes to have to like make music and come up with that stuff. So, yeah. I don't know if Drake posted it, but somebody saw it like on his whiteboard that the rap game is never like quiet. There's always subliminals going on. There's always something happening. There's always somebody hitting on somebody because of the, you know, being more successful and stuff like that. The rap game is never going to be peaceful. There's always going to be somebody riding your coattails or you're trying to one up somebody or, you know, making disses at somebody and stuff like that. And so he made a comment about it. I don't know if he had said it, but I think it was somewhere like during his tour as someone noticed it. And I guess he had like a whiteboard that said like the rap game, whenever we like in peace, like as long as you're number one, people will always come for your spot. And statistically wise, he is number one. So I get what he's trying to say. But then again, I'm going to wait on what he does for a disc. Cause I'm like, we'll see. Cause Drake is Drake. And at the end of the day, he really doesn't have to respond because he's like, okay, but the big ass ego that Drake has, I know he's going to fucking respond. And I'm excited for it. Cause usually when Drake does do disses, I think everyone forgets how versatile this motherfucker can be. She really wanted me to listen to it. She said that we should review it. Let's talk about it. I listened to a couple songs and I absolutely fell in love with the sound. It's what, what Adam, what'd you say earlier about the, like, about the album, like the sound of it? Yeah. I only listened to whatever you recommended to me. But he has a really cool sound. I said that he sounded like if you brought in Journey today. Yeah. Like, like very modern, but it has that like, I know I'm going to get shit from Adele if I'm wrong about this, but it has that age rock flair to it. Like David Bowie. Like David Bowie, like Queen, like Journey, like Adam said. And it's just like a combination of all of it. But man, those songs were so good. My favorite one on the album, Adele, because I know you're going to be fucking listening to this while you're doing your homework or some shit. My favorite song on the album. Oh my God. My favorite song on the album was Ally Rose. That one was amazing. I haven't listened to Boys and Girls, Killing Me and Winner, the last three songs, but I did like those a lot. I did love Forever With Me. My least favorite one. My least favorite one was the Bourgeoisies, because it was like kind of repetitive and it was just like a song about I want to be rich, you know? So yeah, I wasn't like a big fan of it. But those songs, specifically Ally Rose and Forever With Me, beautiful. I loved the instrumentals. I love his voice so much, especially on Forever With Me. When he basically like scream sings, like I Ain't Sorry, I was like, oh my God, this is hitting so hard. Like, it's so good. It's so good. I highly recommend the album to anybody who has listened to Conan Gray before. I'm not sure about his other songs. I feel like I've heard a couple. I've heard a couple on The Cloud With Me, and I don't remember the sounds. I don't know if they're all different album sounds, but kind of like how Arctic Monkey is, Arctic Monkeys is. They're another group of people I definitely want to review as well. I'll probably bring them up like next episode or something like that, but definitely give Conan Gray a listen. With rappers, all they can really do is rap and that's not versatility. But with these artists like that, it's cool to see how different they can make their voices sound and versatile. Reminds me of an actor with certain ranges. They can be in so many different movies. Like an artist, they can make so many different albums and stuff like that. So I thought that was really cool. Ureli's brother, Leo, fucking loves Conan Gray. I'd say he's the number one fan. Dude goes crazy whenever he hears him. Calls him his man and everything. I think it's cool to see how cool his fan base is. So yeah, I think Conan Gray is definitely making his moves up into the top and it's cool to see it, especially he's such a young artist. So that's cool. Reminds me a lot of the way Olivia Rodrigo has come up and I know they're friends too. So I'm excited to see what those two are going to do. They're definitely going to be breaking some records pretty soon. I can see it. That'll be pretty cool. But yeah, I know that Conan Gray really has that nostalgic factor that I know that we specifically look for a lot. But especially the composition, I know Jay's always a fan for that. He's always looking out for that. So I feel like he really just checks all the boxes for Jay and I haven't listened too much of him, but from what I've heard today and the last couple days, I do for sure want to listen to more because I know it's a really interesting sound. Oh yeah. And then I know Doja Cat had dropped. I listened to her album, Scarlet, which is pretty cool. It was Doja Cat, Doja Cat. She's fucking badass in my opinion. But Jay, I know you listened to the deluxe of it. How were the new songs on that? Were they good additions or should the album have been left alone? I definitely think that they were good additions. She's like, all right, it's Doja. She definitely did a good job with Acknowledge Me. I wasn't a big fan of Disrespectful, but the song Urge with A$AP Rocky was one of those fuck shit songs. And then there's a song called Mask with Teezy Touchdown too that's really good. If you want to listen to those, I definitely recommend it.
