The speaker talks about various topics, including their breakfast experience, work schedule, upcoming exams, the NBA All-Star weekend, and the current standings in the NBA. They also discuss the lack of effort in the All-Star game and the disappointing dunk contest. The speaker suggests adding incentives to make the All-Star game more competitive. They give grades to some teams' trade deadline performances. The Hawks receive a C for not making any moves, while the Celtics receive a B for acquiring Xavier Tillman. The Nets receive a C for a trade that didn't make much of an impact. Well, what's up everybody? Welcome back to a new episode of Hoopsauce Party. I'm WCG Radio Coast Gala at a student-run radio station. If I sound a little bit weird, I'm finishing chewing. I have class at 10.40 today, or excuse me, at 9.25, and then I want to get some Einstein's after. Einstein's is normally good, but I thought I'd try the big breakfast burrito. It was not great. It's like the tortilla is old. I don't know. I just felt like I got an old batch of everything, which kind of sucked, and I still don't have a voice. I'm still super freaking congested and super annoying, but oh well. Let's see. What have I been up to? I've been working a bunch. Work's picking up finally. I'm getting four shifts a week. Well, technically five, because one's a double. Instead of two, so I worked Tuesday, I worked yesterday, I have a double Saturday, and then I work Sunday night, so it's good. Finally picking up. Spring break's coming up soon, which is cool. What else? I had a French exam yesterday, or on Tuesday, which I think went well. I have a midterm. I have two midterms due Sunday, so I think I'm going to work on one tomorrow, because I don't have class, and then do one Sunday. The thing is, though, with the one class, it's my sports media class, so it's online. It's like they assigned the midterm, or I guess she assigned the midterm, and then she also assigned two other assignments, too, which is stupid. I think the midterm should just be one assignment, and that should be it for the week, because that's literally what all my other professors who were giving midterms are doing. But anyway, in the world of basketball, the trade deadline came and gone, so that's what today's episode is about, is creating every team's trade deadline for 2024. An all-star weekend was last weekend, and I didn't watch it, because I knew that it would be trash, and from what I heard and saw on, like, Instagram, it was trash. Duck contest just isn't good anymore. No one cares about the all-star game. Players don't play hard anymore, and I saw something that was like, maybe if the winner of the all-star game got home court advantage come playoff time, or come the finals, it would give players more incentives to play, but I'm not sure. We'll talk about it a little bit. We're going to take a short break. Just want to welcome you all to the show. Appreciate you guys coming in, hanging out with me, and we'll be right back, y'all. Welcome back, everyone, to Hoops Asphalt here on WCC Radio, Coastal Carolina's student-run radio station. Yeah, I don't know. I haven't had a voice. Tomorrow will be, well, I haven't had, like, my voice. Tomorrow will be two weeks since I lost it, so I haven't been able to talk normally for two weeks. Still taking medicine, still, you know, taking care of myself, trying to feel better. I feel fine. It's literally just, like, the congestion and sniffles that make my voice sound like I ate glass, so that's not very fun. Spring break's coming up, so a week from tomorrow. We will start spring break, but I don't have class on Fridays, so technically, my spring break starts a week from today, which is nice. I'm just really gonna stay down here and work because it's gonna be busy at work during spring break, but I'll go home and see the fam and go see some friends or, you know, what have you. But back to the all-star game, yeah, the East scored 211 points, which is, like, the most points scored in an all-star game, like, ever, so that was pretty cool to see, but if you went and watched the game, which I didn't because I was working, but I saw highlights, there's just such a lack of effort. Like, the players just don't care. They just let them do whatever, and I get it. You don't want to go all out. You don't want to play a lockdown defense or try to be prime Michael Jordan in the all-star game. Like, you're there to have fun, but at the same time, the NBA does all-star weekend for fan enjoyment and fan involvement, and when you got the players not giving a crap about if they win or lose or if they shoot 10 of 10 or 0 for 12, it makes for kind of a disappointing weekend in general. The dunk contest is washed, and I think part of the reason why is because people are expecting a 2016 type of dunk contest where Aaron Gordon and Zach Lane went toe-to-toe doing it, but even just some of the dunks that the players performed, like some of the Jalen Brown dunks and stuff, it just it wasn't anything exciting, you know? It just felt like the average non-NBA tall guy who had decent jumping ability could do that, you know? And people are calling for that to get scrapped or for the skills challenge to get scrapped, and I don't really know what the answer is to fix all-star weekend. I definitely think throwing in some kind of incentive to the all-star game itself would help with that, and like I said, the home court advantage in the finals. But in terms of the dunk contest, the big-name high flyers who we've seen, you know, terrorize players on the court, like a John Morant, like an Aaron Gordon, like a Zion Williamson. Those players don't want to do the dunk contest, and I don't know why because I think it would be huge for them, and it would be great publicity, great revenue, but at the end of the day, that's up to them, and jumping that high and performing stuff like that can take a toll on your body, and I think that's part of the reason why Aaron Gordon doesn't do any more of that, and because he got robbed from winning the dunk contest twice. So he got robbed in 2016, and then he came back a few years later, and everyone thought that he would win, and Dwayne Wade robbed him, so that's wonderful. But anyway, I'm glad that basketball is coming back today because our last regular season games were a week ago, and then, you know, the all-star break came, gave players a chance to get rested, gave coaches a chance to regroup on their team, figure out some improvements, and make adjustments for the last half or the last push of the season. So quick standings update. Why we're about to come out of the all-star break in through 15 in order. You got the Celtics at 43-12, the Cavs at 36-17. The Cavs have won 9 out of their last 10 games, and I think like 22 out of their last 24 games, so they've been very, very hot. Bucs are 3 with 35-21, Knicks are 4, 33-22, 76ers 32-22, Pacers 31-25, Heat 30-25, Magic 30-25, Bulls 26-29, Hawks 24-31, Nets 21-33, Raptors 19-36, Hornets 13-41, Wizards 9-45, and Pistons 8-46. And in the West, in order, Timberwolves are 39-16, Thunder are 37-17, Clippers are 36-17. Those two teams are actually meeting tonight in OKC, the Thunder and Clippers are. Four Seed Nuggets 36-19, Suns 33-22, Pelicans 33-22, Mavericks 32-23, Kings 31-23, Lakers 30-26, Warriors 27-26, Jazz 26-30, Rockets 24-30, Grizzlies 20-36, Blazers 15-39, Spurs 11-44. So that's a quick standings update as we are about to come out of the all-star break, but my main topic of discussion today is grading every team's trade deadline. So I went in, looked at a bunch of articles, looked at my opinions and everything that I thought, and came up with a list of teams' trade deadlines. So first up, we have the Hawks. We're just going in alphabetic order, so Atlanta. The Hawks, I'm giving a C. So there was talk about them moving DeJounte Murray, and I could have easily seen it happening, but I think the reason why they didn't pull the trigger is because they gave up three first-round picks and a pick swap to get DeJounte Murray. So I know that they weren't expecting to get that kind of haul back for him, because he hasn't been as good in Atlanta as he was in San Antonio, but I think keeping him is absolutely justifiable. Yes, him and Trae Young together is a little awkward, and Atlanta will have to move on from one of them eventually, but there was no reason that they should jump the gun and pull the trigger on a DeJounte Murray trade that was not there and would not benefit their future or their now, because the Hawks do need a retool. They do need to enter a little bit of a rebuild, because since the Eastern Conference Finals are on in 2021, they haven't been able to match their success there. The reason why I'm giving them a C, though, is because they didn't move anyone else. There was definitely offers on the table for like a Bogdan Bogdanovich or a Clint Cabela or even a Sadiq Bey, but they made literally no moves at the deadline, and that didn't really make sense to me. Moving on to the Celtics. Celtics, I gave a B. So the Celtics acquired Xavier Tillman at the trade deadline, which is great for their backup big, because the Celtics bench is not very good, so Xavier Tillman's pretty good off the bench for them, and it didn't take much to get him either. He only gave up, I believe it was two second-round picks, and he's been a great defender, and that defensive anchor off the bench for Boston could be the icing on the cake and really solidify them as the favorites. There wasn't really much that they could do because their team's pretty much full. They got their starting lineup. They got their bench. Maybe move a few bench guys here and there, but in an overall picture, the Celtics had a pretty decent trade deadline. So the Nets, I'm giving a C as well. The Nets didn't really make any moves except moving Spencer Dinwiddie for Dennis Schroeder and Thaddeus Young, so the Raptors released Dinwiddie after that, and then the Nets are holding on to Schroeder and Young. I don't really get that. I don't know. It just kind of felt like a stagnant trade, and it didn't move the needle for either team. I guess they wanted more of a veteran and Dennis Schroeder in there, but also he's taking shots away from the young guys that they want to develop on that team, like a Cam Thomas, like a De'Ron Sharp, like guys like that. But there were more offers on the table that they could have gotten. Like Royce O'Neal went for two second round picks. I think they could have gotten a first round pick for him, but I mean, there's not really much that the Nets could have done because they don't have any future assets because they gave up those assets when they traded for Harden to Houston. I'm sure they've been able to accumulate some back through the Phoenix trade and Dallas trade with Kyrie and KD, but in an overall picture, the Nets couldn't really move the needle one way or the other. So Brooklyn's just going to be stuck in mediocrity for this year and maybe next year, and I think for a Nets fan, that's okay to be there right now. Hornets, I'm giving an A- for the Hornets. Finally, they win at something, right? Terry Rogier deal was very good. They got Kyle Lowry back, who they're probably going to buy out on a first round pick, which is really good. It could be a very valuable first round pick if Jimmy Butler retires before then or if the Heat fall apart, and the Hornets could be up there and get it. They also moved Gordon Hayward to Oklahoma City for Trey Mann in a first round pick. I like that move for both sides, so that's why Hornets are giving an A. I'm going to take a short break. I'll be right back, you guys. Welcome back, everyone to Southside here on WCCU Radio, Coastal Carolina student run radio station. So before we took a break, I gave the Hornets an A on their trade deadline, which I definitely do agree with. Moving on with them a little bit more, they also moved B.J. Washington for a top two protected first round pick, and Grant Williams from the Mavericks, which is a good trade for them. So yeah, they definitely got some good draft capital, moved some guys that needed to go that didn't really fit their timeline. So Hornets, yeah, you finally win something. Good for you. All right, moving on to the Bulls. F minus. Yeah, F minus. I don't understand what the Bulls are doing. No moves at the deadline. Not a single one. Not even moving your worst player on your bench for a second round pick, for a late second round pick. Nothing. Literally nothing. So good job. Good job, Bulls fans. There's no worse place to be in the NBA than the middle. You're too good to have a high draft pick, but you're too bad to maybe even make the playoffs. And that's what the Bulls are doing. And they're not choosing to leave where they are. They haven't made a trade involving a player in almost two and a half years, and yet they still want to remain competitive and try to climb the Eastern Conference standings. Like, they're behind the Magic right now. There are three games behind the Magic who are significantly younger than Bulls, and they've had more injuries, and they're still ahead of them. The Bulls are just like, I just don't understand what they're doing. Zach Galin was on the table, and then he had surgery, so he didn't get moved. Nobody would take him. They could have definitely found a trade for DeMar DeRozan, though, and he's an impending free agent. Young player, first round pick, boom, you're done. And maybe a salary filler, yeah. Young player, salary filler, first round pick, boom. That's all you need. And they couldn't even do that. Everybody who is trying to make a playoff run also wanted Alex Caruso because he's one of the best defensive players in basketball. But no. Bulls didn't trade him. He could have gotten a first round pick for Alex Caruso. Nope. Even Andre Drummond, one of the best backup bigs in basketball. Nope. We're gonna hold on to him. I'm making no moves. I just don't get it. Sometimes teams that do have good intentions, whether it is to fully commit to a rebuild or buy in and make a run in the playoffs, they find themselves stuck in the middle, kind of where the Bulls are, with circumstances that they can't control. The Bulls, on the other hand, are an organization with no plan and no direction. They play roughly 500 basketball. They sell a lot of tickets. We're number three in the league in ticket sales. They don't pay the luxury tax because we let people go. In free agency, we sign random mid-level exception, minimum people, and then that's it. We hop in the next season with the same roster. Rinse and repeat. Sick of it. Bulls, F-. The Cavs are getting a B. That's kind of the grade that I've been giving when teams didn't really make moves, and the Cavs didn't need to. They've been fantastic since Therese Carlin and Evan Mobley came back. They're playing really good team basketball, and they could maybe even catch the Celtics if the Celtics lose a few games and the Cavs come out hot after the break. But yeah, there really wasn't much that they could have done, and I'm glad that they didn't because I think the team that they have definitely can go and win a ring. Moving on to the Mavericks, I'm giving the Mavericks, I think, a C plus, and my reasoning for that is they went out and got Daniel Gaff and P.J. Washington, and they got Gaff from the Wizards and P.J. from the Hornets. The Mavericks definitely got better, that's for sure, but is P.J. Washington really that much of an upgrade over Grant Williams? I don't know. He's a slightly better player. Washington makes $3 million more than Grant Williams did, and they both have the same length of contract, and they gave up a first-round pick for P.J. Washington, which I don't know. It's questionable for me. I don't know why you would give up a first-round pick for a player that's only slightly better. You maybe could have gotten it done with two seconds. I don't know. Good for the Hornets, but the Mavericks, just in an overall sense, kind of a confusing move for me, but they did need to do something because they've kind of been one of the more disappointing teams. In the West this season, they're playing 500 basketball. They're the 8th seed right now. Luke is MVP, pretty much. If the Mavericks get up to a top five seed, Luka will be your MVP. I don't know. It's weird. The Mavericks also don't own any of their picks. Well, they don't control any of their picks between 2027 and 2030, which that's kind of dangerous for a team who's performing how they are right now, and Luka could easily get upset with Dallas if they don't make moves or if they don't improve their team, and then Dallas could be without Luka, which would really stink. So, Nuggets, I'm also giving a B. They've made no moves. This team won a championship last year. They pretty much ran it back. They can absolutely go and win a championship this year. There were no moves to be made. They spent their assets. They don't have any matching salaries. They have a good team. They're fine with it, so there's nothing that you can do with that, and I'm glad that they did it because they have a good team. All right, the Pistons, I'm giving a B+, so Pistons are finally winning at something, too. The only caveat to their trade deadline is that they gave up second round picks, and they're the worst team in the NBA, so those picks are going to be like pick 31, 32 in the draft, which isn't bad, but they got Mike Muscala and Danilo Gallinari in there, and that really helps bring in some shooting that Detroit needs, and it's helped them get up to eight wins on the season, which if you look at how they started the season, that's pretty good improvement, especially after a midseason 27-game losing streak, but that's okay. I think they're just right now trying to avoid the worst record in NBA history, but that's okay. They made some reasonable trades, moved Monte Morris for a second round pick, and they picked up Simone Fontecchio, who was a little bit of an overpay, maybe, but he's still a decently young wing that can help out Detroit shooting and defense, so we'll see what they do, because he is a free agent after season, if they would want to re-sign him, bring him back, whatever, because I do think that that would be worth it, but the big move that they made was training Bo Young, Modanovich, and Alec Brooks to the Knicks in exchange for Quentin Grimes and two picks, or something like that, I believe. Yeah, a couple of late picks. I don't know, but yeah, they definitely need to move their veterans and get some draft capital for them, so I'm glad the Pistons did that. They did what they needed to do this deadline, so hope that they just finish out the season tanking, get a high draft pick, and then go from there and start the rebuild. Well, they've already started the rebuild, but improve on the rebuild coming in next season, draft like an Alexander Starr, or a, what's his name, Isaiah Collier, something like that, and really kind of have your building blocks for the future. So, the Warriors did not make a move either, and because they didn't and needed to, I'm giving them a C and not a B. So, the Warriors, they're, I don't know, they're not playing as good as they had before, and that's for sure. Klay Thompson has regressed, Chris Paul has regressed, Seth Curry's been having to carry everyone, but they needed to make some kind of move. I don't know if Andrew Wiggins was going to get moved. I don't know who they should have moved, but to me, they're pretty much chalking up this season to be a lost cause. I feel like that was going to be true for no matter what they did at the deadline, so maybe it's better that they stood pat and didn't try to make a big time move and compromise future assets for just a chance at getting back into the top four in the West. So, this offseason definitely, though, will be a greater indicator of what the Warriors in the future will look like. Klay Thompson's a free agent. Don't know if he's gonna, if they're gonna bring him back or maybe get a hometown discount, something like that, but the Warriors definitely have the biggest question mark going into the offseason, I believe, right now. So, the Rockets, I'm giving a C+, I think. I had C- right now, but I'm changing it to C+. They went out and got Steven Adams, and that was really the only move that they made. He's out for the season this, I think the question mark with that is we don't know how he's going to come back next season. It was pretty much just a stagnant trade, but Steven Adams is a fun guy in the locker room. You can flip the salary if he needs it, so we'll see. Taking a short break, we'll be right back. You guys will listen to Hoops House Pod. Welcome back, everyone, to Hoops House Pod here on WCCU radio, Coastal Carolina student-run radio station. So, we just talked about the Rockets, gave them a C+, just because I like Steven Adams a lot. Moving on to the Pacers, I gave the Pacers a B+, and that's because they went out and got Pascal Siakam from the Raptors, which is good. He's been really good for them. He's been pretty much as advertised, 21 points per game, and he's been able to provide kind of a defensive impact that takes one of the best offenses in NBA history and makes them a little bit more balanced on the defensive side of the ball, which is really good for them. We want to see him play a little bit more Tyrese Halliburton. They haven't had much playing time together, but they sent out two first-rounders on the deadline. Neither of them are expected to be pretty good picks, so I think if you're a Pacers fan, you have to feel pretty good about what you gave up in exchange for what was returned in Pascal Siakam. So, the Clippers, I'm giving a B to the Clippers, and I'm including the James Harden trade back a couple months ago in this. When it first happened, it was criticized by a lot of people, including myself, but since then, the Clippers have been one of the best teams in basketball. They're currently set as a three-seed in the West, and they've been playing just really fantastic as of late. They're really starting to mold as a team. Harden, Westbrook, Kawhi, and Paul George, they're all playing really well together, bouncing off of each other, because you have three, four even, ball handlers on that team who need the ball, who are pretty much primarily ball handlers, and it's been good that Russell Westbrook accepted his role off the bench and has been able to lead the bench unit. But yeah, the cost for James Harden was considerable, but this took a Clippers team that wasn't really in the championship hunt to a true contender out West, so definitely for that reasoning, that's why I'm giving them a B+. The Lakers, they didn't do anything, so I'm giving them a B-. They needed to make a move, but they didn't. Why, I don't know. They were in the DeMar DeRozan talks, the Zach Levine talks. They could have matched a salary with D'Angelo Russell, but they went out and got Spencer Dinwiddie, though, because the Raptors bought him out, but that's not really a trade deadline, that's just using the buyout market, which is whatever. I mean, maybe they could have gone out and gotten DeJuante Murray, I don't know, but you'd have to include Austin Reeves and at least a couple of picks and the salary filler and all kinds of stuff. But the Lakers, I don't know. I think they're holding on to their picks so they can offer three of them for another star this offseason, because LeBron's not getting any younger, and if he's unhappy with Los Angeles and Bronny comes into the league, he could very easily leave the Lakers for a team that Bronny gets drafted to. We'll see, though, who they go out and get. If they do make some moves in the offseason, LeBron has a player option, and then he'll be a full free agent next season, which that'll definitely be something to keep an eye out if you guys want to sign a 41-year-old LeBron James, which would be funny. So, three first round picks is a considerable amount to offer for a star, so we'll see what they're doing. Just because the Lakers didn't make any moves last week does not mean that they don't know what they're doing, so we'll see come offseason time. All right, the Grizzlies, just to see, middle of the road trade deadline. They traded Steven Adams to the Rockets and they traded Xavier Tillman to the Celtics. Didn't really get much back from them, but it was just kind of a status quo deadline for the Grizzlies. This is kind of a wash of the season for them anyway, with John Moran being off an entire year and them being kind of trash, but it's just a normal trade deadline. The Heat, I'm giving a C-, and the reason why is because the Terry Brugier trade is low-key looked like a miss so far. So, Miami lost its first four games with Terry and his shooting numbers have been horrible, and it's been bad for the Heat, too. It's been very bad for the Heat. It's too early to say if it's going to be a bad trade or not, because they've played less than a week of basketball together, the Heat and Terry Brugier have, but for a team that is sitting at the seventh seed right now and we know are notorious for making playoff runs, a lot of Jimmy coming out, they need the Terry Brugier that Charlotte got a first-round pick for, and if they don't, they're not going to have a good lead guard off the bench or even starting next to them. So, I don't know. We'll come back to some of these trades later in the year and judge them again or whatever, see if it worked out, see if it's a trade, but for now, I am going to say C-, but that has the ability to drop or increase based on how they do. Moving on to the Bucs, I'm just giving the Bucs a B. They really had nothing to trade at all, but they went out and got Patrick Beverley for, I think, two second-round picks, and yeah, so that was the move that they made, which is pretty good. I'm excited that the Bucs did that, I guess. Patrick Beverley's cool. He's a massive upgrade on what they needed, and he came within his price range. So, that would be for a team who had literally nothing to trade. Timberwolves, just giving them a B-, they're the best team in basketball, so I don't know if they really needed to go out and make a move, but the Monte Morris trade that they got from the Pistons that does fit their need of a backup point guard, Mike Conley did just sign a two-year extension with them either yesterday or the day before. But yeah, Monte Morris definitely helps out with them. He's missed a lot of time this season. He's only played six games, but whenever he does come back for the Timberwolves, if he's anything like he was in Denver a couple years ago, he'll be a real upgrade for the bench at their weakest position, which is court. So, not bad trade on the line for the Timberwolves. Speaking of the Pelicans though, they didn't really do much besides dumping Gear Lewis Jr. for just some cash, no consequence, nothing involved. The Pelicans are going to retain their court because of the salary dump, so good for them, absolutely. So, Pelicans, I'm giving a B+. They do need to kind of monitor the situation, and if they have another disappointing year, they're doing okay right now. If they have another disappointing year, don't win a playoff game, don't get out of round one, something like that, either a coaching change has to be made from Willie Green, or they need to break up the core and move on from that and go back into a reboot, get some really good assets, and try to get back into contention like they thought they would when they drafted Zion. The Knicks, my highest grade yet, A, absolutely, absolutely A. So, the Knicks traded for OG Aninobi a couple days before the trade deadline on 1-12 of their next 14 games. A throw-in of that deal was Precious Achewa, who's been very good, and he's filled in for Julius Randle, who's been injured. He actually missed the All-Star game because he was injured. So, I would be very happy if I was a Knicks fan based on the OG Aninobi trade, and then at the deadline, they went on and made another move. They got Bojan Bedenovic and Alec Burks to boost their bench offense without giving up a first rounder, which is really cool. Grinton Grimes was worth one to the right team, which was Detroit, but he clearly just didn't have a place in New York anymore, just didn't really fit with what they were doing. So, moving him for players that can help now, especially with the amount of injuries that they have, is a good move. So, good job for the Knicks. I'd love to see them come playoff time because I do think that they're a dangerous team. Thunder, I'm giving an A- because they went out and got Gordon Hayward, and that seems almost perfect for Oklahoma City. They can limit his minutes enough to keep him healthy because we know Gordon Hayward has had some injury concerns, but he can provide a lot of things Josh Giddey does without hurting their spacing. So, he can go out, defend, score when he needs to, grab rebounds, maybe dish the ball out some. So, the pick swap, however, though, that they got from Dallas was sneaky because the Thunder have more picks right now than they can actually use, and that 2028 pick from Dallas could actually be a pretty good pick, especially if Luka gets upset or if they move Kyrie Irving and other pieces that they have, that pick could be very valuable. So, the Thunder don't have spots right now for low-end rookies that they're going to use with their draft picks. So, whenever the time is right, whenever a star does become available, expect Oklahoma City to be very, very active in those talks, and who knows, maybe they could land the next superstar. Maybe they could land Luka Doncic if he wants out. So, overall, good trade deadline for the Thunder. Going to take a short break. We'll wrap up the teams here. You're listening to Hoops Hotspot here on WCC Radio. We'll be right back. Welcome back, everyone, to Hoops Hotspot here on WCC Radio. Coach Garland, student-run radio station. So, we just got about three minutes left on the show for today, so we're going to kind of go through the last little bit of these teams here and get through every one and then wrap up the show and go to French class, unfortunately. So, Magic didn't make any deals, so giving them a C. Not much else to say about them, but definitely over-accomplishing their expectations for the season. 76ers, I'm giving a B because Joel Embiid is out right now and his health problems puts a little bit of a damper on what they want to do, but getting Buddy Heald will definitely help them, as well as Kyle Lowry if he does get bought out from the Hornets. So, good trade deadline for the 76ers. The Suns, C. I don't know. They got Royce O'Neal. That's about it, though. They didn't have any assets to move. They used all their first-round picks, draft capital, and yeah, they got Royce O'Neal, which is pretty good. Phoenix is all-in, so as desperate as the future may look, they did a far better job of achieving a decent trade deadline than we thought that they would. Blazers are getting a C-, and that's because they didn't really make any moves. They needed to. They needed to move Malcolm Brogdon, at least, and they didn't because there's a lot of guard play there. So, C- for the Blazers. Kings, C- as well. They didn't make any moves, and they needed to. They're not a championship contender right now in the West, and last season they were the 3-seed in the West, and now they're the 7-seed because the West is a lot stronger. So, yeah, they needed to make a move, find some pieces, and they didn't. Spurs are giving a C- just because they didn't really make any moves either. These teams that didn't make the moves, they're not going to spend too much time on Spurs to move on. Raptors are giving a B+. They started their retool. They got R.J. Barrett and Manuel quickly. Kelly Olenek, Bruce Brown, draft capital. They did what they needed to fully enter a retool around their core now. Scottie Boren, R.J. Barrett, and Manuel quickly, and then maybe once the Acobertos contract's up, you can use that to go out and get another center. Jazz, C- didn't really make any important moves. They traded Kelly Olenek and Oshay Obagi to the Raptors. That's about all they did. They got a pick from it, and that's all you can really say about the Jazz. And finally, the Wizards, I'm giving a B-. They moved Daniel Gafford for a late first round pick. That's what they could have gotten for him, so they moved the player that they needed to, but Washington stinks, so I don't really know what else to say about them. So, yeah, that's going to wrap up our show for today, though. We're about to close out here. I'm about to go speak some French. Hopefully, you graded our exam because I'm low-key upset about that. Anyway, thank you guys so much for listening. I love you all, and I'll see you all next week. Peace out, y'all.
