Good afternoon, it's one o'clock. I'm Daisy and this is Leeds Hacks Radio News. Many women in Leeds feel unsafe walking alone. A year ago, Girls Who Walk was founded with the aim of bringing women together, tackling loneliness and creating a safe, inclusive space for women across the city. The organisation also takes part in partnership walks, the most recent being a walk in the Egal Hotel to help women understand more about the recent Leeds Spicing Report. The remains of the former Marsh Lane station were discovered during an evacuation carried out in the city centre. The station was built around 190 years ago, and a curator of the industrial history, John McGoldrick, called it a real tangible part of the city's past. A biker has suffered a life-changing foot injury in a multiple bike crash that happened in Leeds, sending three people to hospital. At 2pm in Garthas, three ambulances and one air ambulance rushed to the scene to transport the patients to Leeds General Infirmary. None of the injuries were life-threatening. You can now have your say on the new licensing scheme for private sector rented housing. The new proposition aims to raise the standard of privately rented homes and tackling social and health inequalities. The council are considering plans in Beeston and Hare Hills, but would also take in parts of Armley, Holbeck, Crossgreen and East End Park. Sustainable Fashion Week has arrived in Leeds. The Scrap Project in Farley will play host to a multitude of events designed to avert used clothes, garments and fabrics from landfill. The founder of the Scrap Project has said that Sustainable Fashion has helped them grow as a business, allowing for more sustainable practices. You know, we have to do it at a community level, I think. That's the only way we can do it. And with things like Sustainable Fashion Week, it's going to grow and grow and grow. The theme for this year's Sustainable Fashion Week is repair. Amelia Klein, founder of the movement, said that the theme is about taking back control from clothing companies. With repair, we're taking it back into our own hands and that's why it's powerful. Scrap believe taking back control from clothing companies can start with community action, like hosting a second-hand clothes swap. Sarah Howes, the clothes swap one-up at Scrap, said the event is being hosted by the actions of younger people. The idea of being able to go and pick up something that's been made very quickly, probably by a child labourer, the very cheap fabric, and badly put together for one night out is increasingly abhorrent, particularly for younger people. A ban on owning zombie knives has been enforced today across England and Wales. West Yorkshire Police have officially lifted its amnesty on zombie knives as new legislation has been released. It is now illegal to own such weapons and members of the public will no longer be able to hand them in to authorities. Due to the schedule going on until the end of September, Horsefist Critic Club captain Joe O'Gorman expresses the bad light is dangerous for the players. As the captain, it puts him in a difficult spot when making game-changing decisions. It is dangerous at times when animals are not pleasurable to play and it puts some pilots and captains in a very difficult situation when you're trying to get a game on and force a game through with bad light. Leeds United Football Club have announced new expansion plans to enhance Elland Road Stadium. They wish to increase stadium capacity from 37,000 seats to 53,000. The proposed changes will make Elland Road the seventh largest club stadium in the country. And lastly for the weather, the Met Office have issued West Yorkshire with an amber weather warning. This could cause power cuts and flooding which could lead to road closures. Commuters have been advised to take this into account when travelling to and from work.
