Over 20 years ago, the House of Mtenzi started as a cafe and a free studio space for artists in Memphis. Now, it has transformed into a museum and event space for live performances on Madison Avenue. Over 20 years ago, the owner started the House of Mtenzi as a cafe called It's My Time Entertainment. The cafe was actually also a space for artists local to Memphis and surrounding counties to come and use the free studio space. Located on Madison Avenue, the House of Mtenzi Museum is more than a museum to Memphis. It is actually an event space for live performances.
