I learned about the word for describing people of two different backgrounds in both English and Spanish. I also learned about the complexities of having a mixed heritage and that I am not alone in feeling confused about it. There are others who look and feel the same way as me. I also learned about how these complex backgrounds shape the fabric of humanity. I also learned about the history of Little Village and how it relates to community and society. I hadn't realized the impact of Martin Luther King Jr.'s life, death, and devotion on minority communities, so that was something new I learned. That's what I thought about the chapter. Thank you! Primero, aprendí la palabra inicial en inglés como en español. Es la palabra que se usa para describir a los descendientes de personas de dos orígenes diferentes. También aprendí sobre las complejidades de tener un origen mixto y que no estoy sola en esa parte confusa de la sociedad. Hay otras personas que se ven y se sienten de la misma manera que yo. También aprendí un poco sobre cómo estos fondos complejos conforman el tapiz de la humanidad. También aprendí sobre la historia de Little Village y cómo la copra se relaciona fuertemente con el diminutivo y la sociedad. Debido a que yo estaba vivo en ese momento, no me había dado cuenta de cuánto impactaron la vida, la muerte y la devoción de Martin Luther King Jr. en las comunidades minoritarias. Eso fue algo que también aprendí. Eso es lo que pensé del capítulo. ¡Gracias!
