McCaw Elementary School has provided evidence from the 2021-2022 school year. While the school is performing better than the district and state averages, it is important to reduce the absence rate to prevent it from impacting student achievement. The school has a rigorous curriculum, and missed days of instruction can cause students to fall behind. Students are expected to follow attendance rules to avoid being placed on probation or losing their spot in the magnet program due to frequent absences. Here is the evidence from 2021 to 2022 school year. Although the school is doing better than the district and state average, it is key to decrease our absence rate before it affects student achievement. McCaw Elementary School has a strong curriculum where if days of instruction are missed, then the students will fall behind. It is also an expectation of students to adhere to the attendance regulations to avoid being placed on probation or risk losing a seat in the magnet program due to habitual attendance problem.
