A review into children's gender services in England is warning that vulnerable youngsters are being let down by the health system. The report by Dr Hilary Cass says there's a lack of evidence about medical options offered to teenagers and that the toxicity in the debate isn't helping. Dr David Bell wrote a critical report on the gender identity unit at Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust. He insists doctors can't be led by their beliefs. These children need to have their multiple problems properly addressed by a proper clinical service that acts in such a way, following the ordinary canons of clinical care instead of what's happened, which they were totally captured by trans ideology. The government minister for victims and safeguarding is Laura Farris and she says the government's already started to implement some of the paediatrician's previous recommendations. Approving permission for a new National Trans Memorial has been submitted to Manchester City Council. Sparkle, the national transgender charity, have submitted the application to replace the former National Trans Memorial sculpture, the first and only memorial of its kind in the country. The former monument was removed from Manchester's Sackville Gardens at the heart of Manchester's Gay Village in 2022 due to extensive fire damage. If approved by council, the new monument will be named Passing on Light. And an LGBTQ plus Navy veteran has won an award for her efforts to get a rule banning gay people from the Navy overturned by taking the UK to the European Court of Human Rights. Emma Riley, who lives in Brighton, was a Royal Navy radio operator for three years before she was arrested and discharged after telling a colleague about her sexuality in the early 1990s. She has been named Hero of the Year at the British Diversity Awards for her campaigning efforts. There's more news online at gado.co.uk
