This is a pre-recorded briefing for staff from the Wolverhampton Psychology Service. It discusses the school's responsibility in supporting positive mental health and wellbeing for all members of the school community. The briefing explains that the Charter Mark will be implemented over the course of one year and will involve data collection through surveys and focus groups. The school will then work on the areas identified for improvement and receive support from a reflection psychologist. Progress will be reviewed to determine if the Charter Mark criteria have been met. Staff may be involved in supporting changes in the school environment and sharing their views through surveys or focus groups. The briefing concludes by mentioning an upcoming meeting between the school leadership team and reflection psychologists to discuss data collection. We know there will already be a lot of excellent practice taking place in many of these areas in your school and we will therefore support you to build on all of the positive work that is already underway. As can be seen from this summary, the Charter Mark will take place over the course of one year. Following an initial meeting, data will be collected through a variety of approaches. These include an anonymous staff survey, a pupil wellbeing survey as well as parent and pupil focus groups. Data collection will be led by an assistant educational psychologist. Once data collection has taken place, the reflection psychologist will arrange a follow-up meeting in school to discuss the findings, including schools' areas of strength and then plan the next steps that are required to work towards achieving the Charter Mark. School will then work to action the agreed next steps and be supported by a monitoring visit led by your reflection psychologist. After a set time, schools' progress will be reviewed and it will be decided if the criteria for obtaining the Charter Mark has been met. So what does and what might this mean for you? It is important for you to know that your school has committed to building on your whole school approach to supporting mental health and wellbeing. As schools' involvement in the Charter Mark progresses, you may be involved in supporting change to the school environment in order to effectively meet the needs of children, young people, the families and the communities that you serve. You may also be contacted to share your views through participation in an anonymous survey or through focus group activities. All views will be most welcome and valued. This brings us to the end of our briefing session. Very shortly after this briefing, an initial meeting between key members of your school's senior leadership team and reflection psychologists will be held to agree dates and times for data collection to take place. We very much look forward to working with you in your settings in the near future and hope that this briefing has provided you with an overview so that you feel comfortable and able to share your views and experiences should you be invited to take part. Any further queries or questions can be directed to your assigned Charter Mark lead professional in school. Thank you for your time in engaging in this briefing today.
