This is your preview show, looking ahead to Sunday's opener for England in Group C against Serbia in Gelsenkirchen after one will be there. As always, let's kick off the show by taking a look at the 11 that Gareth Southgate might pick to start the match. Okay, so we are not going into this tournament with the utmost of confidence off the back of, well I think Southgate's previous record, we never really spoke about England on this channel before. He's a little bit like Gary Rowett but probably even worse because he's actually got the players to go out there and go and win it. He has said he will play four at the back of this tournament which was a lot of people's biggest criticism since he's been in charge and he has actually said as well that if he doesn't get the job done this summer in Euro 2024 in Germany, he will walk away and he will probably get sacked. He probably won't need to walk but he will no longer be the England manager so he may as well go for it. It's all on the line for him. It is about time something came home. It's been a very, very long time, long before I was born. So what will Southgate do? Again, not the biggest confidence booster of the previous two friendlies we've had. I was at the Bosnia game at St James' Park two weeks ago, I think, and that's when I decided, fuck it, I am going to the Euros, I'll cover that later on in the video. Yeah, poor first half, better second, okay not, maybe our first seed was out. Kane come on, didn't he? Greenwich come on, he's ironically now not going. That's a massive decision for me, alone. That Anthony Gordon, not Anthony, yeah he's quick but he's got an haircut like he had at Coronation Street and his final ball's just not there. Greenwich has got that bit of class but he's not going. Gordon will, I don't even think he'll play. So after that we had the Iceland friendly, which of course we lost at Wembley. I hate England friendlies, especially ones at Wembley, and I'm glad I didn't go to that. Very disappointing 1-0 defeat when we just couldn't break down the Icelandic defence. So going into the tournament, I think we're ranked fourth in the world, so we've got to be up there for favourites. Someone said we're actually off. A few people have actually said we are favourites for this tournament, off the back of those two friendlies. I'm now not so sure, but someone actually said to me we are favourites for the tournament, I probably shouldn't have checked that out before I did this video, but I didn't. So what will Southgate do? I don't know. What would I do? Okay, this is going to be a controversial one. But this is the team that I would start against Serbia on Sunday. Jordan Pickford in goal, back four, look short left back if he's fit. Kieran Trippier, Kieran Trippier, Kieran Trippier, right to back, two centre backs, it's going to be John Stones and I'd stick Kyle Walker in there, I'll explain why in a minute. Central midfield, another controversial one. I'd go with Trent Alexander-Arnold with Declan Rice alongside him. I'd have Ben in the middle 10, I'd have Foden on one side, I'd have Cole Palmer on the other. Don't really care which way round that goes. And then up front of course, made up near wall, the captain, Mr Harry Kane. So, before you all start screaming at the screen, let me explain that. Pickford for me, I know he gets a bit of shit at club level, he's clearly fucking not in the city, but I will never ever forget when I was in Russia in 2018, I was at the end behind that goal where he saved the penalties and we went through with a very dodgy Eric Dier penalty down the middle. But anyway, we got the job done for the first time ever on penalties. So Pickford's got to start, Luke Shaw's not fit, I don't think he's fit, well he is fit if you know what I'm saying, the fat little fucker, but I can talk on that conversation. Right back, Trippie, I think that picks itself. Now Stones and Walker, for me, the only reason I'd have Walker in there is one, experience, international level, as a big game player, one title for Man City and just his pace really. I'm not having this Lewis Dunk at all, I don't even know who the other centre-halves are. Harry Maguire, of course, also not included in the squad, understandably, he doesn't even get in the club level anymore. Central midfield, Declan Rice, you know, ex-ex-ex. Central midfield, you've got Declan Rice, of course, he picks himself, and alongside him is a big argument for Maynard. Look, I know Trent's not a central midfielder just as much as Kyle Walker's not a centre-back, and he can be the only nation in the world, England, where we've got the pick of all the best players, but we've got not a lot of defensive players and not a lot of central midfield players. But I would go with Trent, again, big game experience, a lot more experience than Maynard, and a fantastic passing range, so I'm going to have him in there alongside Declan Rice to protect that back four, that's what Rice can do, and then Trent can distribute and pick out the passing for the players going forward. On the wins, I think the only argument could be with Saka, but again, he is in the squad, but he's not been fit, so I think that Cole Palmer, who's impressed me in the friendlies, one of the shining lights in those two friendlies, I think he'll start, Foden picks himself, I'll put him in a ten, and Kane up front, let me know what you think in the comments, I'm sure some of you will not definitely agree, and you'll let me know what you think. So, that's the team I'll go with on Sunday in Gelsenkirchen, let's move on to our opposition. And it is... ...managed by Dragan Stokovic, managed by Dragan Stokovic, Serbia are competing for the first time as an independent nation in this tournament, and they're not as bad as I think some of you may think, they qualified second in their group behind Hungary, and they qualified for the Euros off the back of that, they currently, see it, ranked, as you can see, thirty-thirds in the world, thirty-thirds in the world, six places above Scotland, and four below Wales, of course that's ironic because Wales didn't qualify, and the Jocks did, they opened things up on Friday against the hosts, Germany, in Berlin. The one to watch for the Serbs will be two ex-Premier League players in their ranks, although they are now beyond the wrong side of thirty, Dusan Talic especially falls into that bracket, Dusan Talic of course even more so, Dusan Talic of course definitely falls into that bracket, he's now thirty-five years old and enjoyed time in the Premier League under, Dusan Talic of course, Alexander Mitrovic of course we know him very well from the Premier League, but as I said he's the wrong side of thirty now, I'm blinding straight, I think it's Saudi Arabia or somewhere like that, he can score goals though and you know, Milwall, Alexander Mitrovic is the first of those, I think he's about thirty-one, thirty-two years old now, of course we know him from his long time in the Premier League under, Alexander Mitrovic, Alexander Mitrovic falls into that bracket, he's thirty-one, thirty-two years old now, of course we know him well from his time at Fulham, scoring loads of goals in the Championship and then in the Premier League, even pushing referees over before he went to Saudi, I think he's in now, but he'll know English defenders, he'll know how they play, he'll know their weaknesses, so he's definitely one to watch for them He's thirty-five years old, the ex-Southampton player, now playing for Fenerbahce, in their last friendly, both those players scored and they beat Sweden three-nil away in Stockholm, I'm assuming, I haven't checked the venue of that one out either, my research has maybe not been the best, but look, that's their team, they're the two to watch and we move on to the prediction. And so, this is your first pre-match prediction of Euro 2024 and I'm going for a two-nil England win in Gelsenkirchen, I keep saying it because I've been practising it and I'm still probably saying it wrong, which is Schalke's ground of course, I'm going for a two-nil win and I'm going for Jude Bellingham to get one and John Stones up from a corner to get the other to give England the best start possible in Group C. And at that point, that's why I usually say that is your lot for the show, but there is lots to talk about, I'm not going to go into it fully, but I am going on a one-way ticket with my 17-year-old son from Dover, 10am ferry, we land in, well we arrive, we don't, what do we do, we dock, we dock in Calais at 12 o'clock, we're driving three hours to Eindhoven, we're staying overnight in Eindhoven on the first night, we've got a stadium tour the next morning for PSV and then we are heading the extra hour and a half to the aforementioned multiple times Gelsenkirchen, where we will be for a few days. I've got 11 nights accommodation booked up, I've got a group match ticket for every game, so I'm trying to get more, obviously because my boy's now coming and we're going to do daily vlogs.
