The speaker talks about having a sunburn and not being able to wear a bra. They discuss their week and talk about their child getting hurt frequently. The speaker shares their experience with their child falling and injuring their face. They also discuss how they cope with their child's injuries and the guilt they feel as parents. record. I also don't have a bra on so you can't like see below right? I can't wear one because I'm so burnt. Well you can't. Ready? Mm-hmm. And I'm Kristen. As always, let's get started with our check-ins for the week. Tara, how is everything going? Oh, good. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to check that off my list because actually I was going to ask you that. I was going to ask you that yesterday in text, but then I was like, well, let's just like... Yes. So that's good. That's awesome to hear. She's showing the new school off to her parents. That's so cute. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Right. Yeah. Same. Oh my God. Right. Right. You don't have angry eyebrows. It's okay. Hey, exactly. Do what you got to do, sister. I'm sorry if you can tell, I'm extremely sunburned. Like my neck is so... And it's so funny because you can see like clearly from where I was sitting in a chair rather than laying because my neck is like white and then my chest. I seriously feel like this is the most burnt I've ever been in my entire life, which may not be true, but I hurt so bad. I thought today I would wake up feeling a little bit more normal because it's been a couple of days. No, I hurt so much more than I thought I was going to. And now it's like in like right by kind of like my armpit, like right here. So whenever I lift up my arm, oh, it hurts so bad. And trying to tell a two-year-old to not touch me or scratch me is so hard because even so, yes, I want to like play or something. And he doesn't mean to, but he, you know, like, I'm like, don't touch me. Yeah. And today I was like, okay, put your, put your hand out like a high five and just touch my chest. It was like, doesn't it feel so warm? He's like, Ooh, that's hot. I was like, I know. I said, so that's why I don't want you to touch me because it hurts so bad. I've been having to put like aloe, right. I've been having to put like aloe on my arm. Yeah. Yeah. But, but sometimes I'm like, Ooh, that's too cold. I don't like it right now, but I know it's, you know, feels better. Yes. So other than that, I mean, it's been good. Braxton's actually had the entire week off. I think his daycare is on vacation or something. Um, he goes back tomorrow for whatever. Um, yes, yes. Right. Um, he goes back for one day tomorrow and then he's off on Friday. Um, so I mean, you know, he's been hanging out with dad, going to work with him and stuff. So it's been good. He does. Yeah. He thinks it's fun. You know, he gets to help find the cracks to caulk and stuff like that. So, you know, he's, he comes home and he's like, I'm, I was such a big helper today. That's great. Yeah. I said, did your dad give you money? No. Oh, well, it's cheap. Right. Um, but you know, it's, it's been a good week other than getting fried. Um, which I realized that I, so I'm a big, um, I don't like suntan lotion. I like the oil that has like five SPF in it, you know? So, you know, I spray blah, blah, blah, blah. Well, I forgot that last summer I didn't have any of the oil. So I decided to put baby oil in there and I was just going to like limit. Well, I went in, um, and I put it back in the, um, cupboard closet the other day and I noticed I had a full bottle of the oil and it wasn't opened. So yes, I was using baby oil instead of the actual suntan oil. So I believe that's why I am so fried. Yes. Well, hopefully it turns into a good tan. I do. Yeah. I got the good skin. Yeah. I got, I got the good layer skin. So sorry about that. Cheers. So last week, um, we talked about different, um, sleep techniques, um, and what we used, what maybe worked for us, what didn't. This week we wanted to get into, um, kids getting hurt. Uh, how did us parents cope with it? Exactly. Um, how the kids cope with it. Um, did we have any type of guilt that went along with that? Um, so to kick it off, I'm just going to say my child gets hurt all the time. Um, he does not pay attention at all to what he's doing. Um, he either is running into something, falling into something, tripping over his own fricking feet. Most of the time is honestly how he gets hurt. Um, you know, the meme, I always love to go back to this, um, the meme where it says have kids. They say it's fun or something like that. Yes. That's exactly what it is. Yes. Yeah. That's exactly what it is. Or the meme have a boy. They say it's fun. Oh my God. Well, I'm surprised I haven't had a heart attack yet. And knock on wood. Thank God we haven't actually had to go like to the hospital or anything like that. No broken bones in this house. Knock on wood at this time. Let's hope it stays. Um, no. Oh God, I didn't take that. Wow. Yeah. All the time. And you think it would like defer them from doing that? No, it not at all. Not at all. Oh yeah. Right. Right. Yeah. Where I'm at like a point where I get, I get so nervous when he gets around, like the corner of an end table or something. And I always have to tell him now. All right, whatever. If you want to stay there, you're going to crack your head open and we're gonna go to the hospital. Because dude, I know and shit. I don't want to friggin see that either. No, please. Yeah. Yeah. Oh my God. So speaking of since you know, obviously the whole episode is kids getting hurt. Yeah. Um, I think one of the biggest ones, for some reason, my child when he falls, he hits his face. And he always has a busted lip. All ways. And I think the first time he ever got that was he fell off the couch or he was probably jumping off the couch and hit his face, probably, and hit his face on the floor. And it was like, I think his tooth like cut his lip. So anybody who knows me, I am not a blood fan. I get I get dizzy when I get a paper cut. I'm telling you, if I look at it for too long, I'm like, Whoa, I've got to sit down. I start getting like the sweats and dizzy. So when it's so funny, my parents are always like, how in the world are you ever going to have kids? What are you going to do? Well, no, that was fine. No, it didn't. I think like once, I guess I'm in the mo I don't know. I guess just yeah. I must not have really been paying attention. Because then they put them in a blanket. Wait, do they? No, they don't put them in a blanket right away. Yeah, I'm just not even paying attention. I'm like, I don't freaking care. In his beautifulness, right. So he fell off the couch, busted his lip. And it's like bleeding. And of course, you know, all he wants is Oh, mom, mom. He's a very big mama's boy. So anytime he gets hurt, of course, okay, well, let me see. Well, there's blood and I'm like, bro. And so the next thing I'm like, Oh, my God, what if I see like his tooth poke through or something? So then I start freaking out even more. Well, there were other people there. So I think that's why I was freaking out more is because I knew somebody else could take care of him at that time. And they're like, Chrissy, what are you going to do when you're alone? Like, let's say you're alone and something like this happens? What are you going to do? They're like, is Braxton going to have to call 911 for you because you fainted on the floor? So it did happen. It did happen when I was alone with him, though. We were outside. This freaking kid tripped over his damn Crocs that he wears. And face plant on the concrete, blood, just and I was actually I was wearing this sweater, this cream sweater. No, the laundry did good. I got out. Cream sweater. So I got blood on it. But I did so good. And I think it was because I was by myself. And I knew I had to be the one to be okay, pretty much. Yeah, yeah. Well, whatever. And I mean, really, it's so funny, because speaking of how, like he coped with it, he obviously cried and was upset and stuff. But then he was fine. It was almost like, oh, it didn't it didn't happen. You know, I get a Popsicle afterwards. So whatever. Oh, hell yeah. Every time he busts his lip. I'm like, yo, you want a Popsicle? Yeah, you got to try and get that down a little bit. Okay, so what? Honestly, yeah. I think I think that's the worst. And then it ended the next day he went to daycare and he reopened it because he frickin fell on the concrete again. I'm like, dude. Yeah, probably. You shouldn't be wearing those frickin shoes outside running around. No. Right. Right. Yeah. Well, now she can have them for a while too. So they think everything fits them. It's so funny. You put shoes away, they're too small. And it's like, no, they fit. You can't even get your toe in there. He, I will admit he's actually very good at putting his shoes on the right feet. Because we like made sure to pretty much drill that in his brain because of that. I'm like, that's not going to be comfortable. And it's gonna make you fall even more. So every time he would put them on, we're like, nope, right foot, wrong foot. Left, right. This is what it is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You got it wrong. Try again. Yeah. Yeah, there you go. What? What is Okay, I kind of know the story. But tell everybody. What is lives? Worst? Why does it always have to be the animals or monsters or whatever? I don't know. I like it. Right. Let me get your back. That's awesome. Oh, my. It's so funny. I love that. Uh huh. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Right. Oh, yeah. No. Yeah, right. Yeah, thanks for putting that in my head, too. Right. Oh, yeah. Yeah, we're done. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. I didn't know it was that long. Oh, yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Is he around the same age? Okay. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, you would hope so. Yeah. Because I would feel so terrible that I probably would be like, okay, is there something we can do? Can we put, let's say, my kid in a different class? I mean, because, yes, you can talk to your child, but, again, they're two. How much are they actually going to be like, okay, I'm really not supposed to do this? Right? Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.
