This presentation discusses how the British position on the Balfour Declaration and the mandatory withdrawal in 1948 changed over time while maintaining the same racial ideology. It explores primary sources that show an increasing focus on Zionism, more violence towards Palestinians, and a decreasing sense of responsibility in the region. In answer to the question we have chosen, this presentation aims to show that from the Balfour Declaration to mandatory withdrawal in 1948, the British position changed significantly whilst maintaining the initial racial ideology throughout. Exploration of primary sources presents an increasing prioritization of Zionism, increased violence towards Palestinians, as well as a diminishing sense of responsibility in the region.
