Nothing to say, yet
The speaker recalls a memory from five years ago in Kisaria. They were studying a book with Leora on Shabbat afternoon and called her over to join. The speaker's child also wanted to join and asked sweetly. The child was very engaged and asked great questions. At the end, the speaker either gave the child the book or the child continued to learn it on their own. The speaker hopes that on the child's bat mitzvah, they will reflect on what they have learned and realize that learning is a lifelong joy. The speaker compares learning to flossing and exercising, saying it is important for longevity and staying young and informed. They give blessings for many more years of learning and growing. Hi, Merav. I want to share a memory from probably five years ago in Kisaria. I remember I was studying with Leora on Shabbat afternoon a book, Tinei Lecha for Kids, it's like a cartoon book of Eliezer Melamed Talacha. And I called Leora over to study with me and she was like so embarrassed about it. Oh, God, Dad, you're going to be studying with me now? And you asked so sweetly, hey, can I come too? Can I join? And I said, sure. And you joined us and that obviously made it much easier for Leora to sit and study with me. And you were really into it and you were asking fantastic questions. And at the end of which, I think I gave you the book or I got to the book at some point and you continue to learn it on your own. And my hope and blessing for you is that at this landmark bat mitzvah, you reflect back not just on all the things that you've learned until today and on this occasion, but you'll also think ahead of all the things that you still have to learn and realize that learning is a lifetime joy. An analogy that one of my teachers once gave me in medical school was that learning every day is kind of like flossing your teeth and exercising. It's just a healthy thing to do for your longevity and for keeping yourself young and informed. So blessings for many more years of learning and growing.
