A 30-year-old female is visiting a fertility clinic after being unable to conceive for two years. She experiences heavy periods and occasional pain during intercourse. Her last visit to her OB revealed an enlarged, firm, and irregular uterus. Lab work showed normal results. She is willing to undergo imaging to determine the cause of infertility. Her medical history includes a diagnosis of anxiety at 18, an appendectomy at 12, and her first period at 14. She has had three sexual partners and no known drug allergies. Our patient today is a 30-year-old female, G0P0, presenting to the Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility Office at the request of her OB. The patient and her partner have been unable to conceive despite two years of unprotected intercourse. She reports heavy periods and occasional pain during intercourse. The notes from her last visit with her OB noted an enlarged, firm, and irregular uterus during bimanual exam. Her pre-visit lab work showed that her CBC, CMP, PT, PTT, prolactin, TSH, LH, and midluteal progesterone were all within normal limits. She's agreeable to do some imaging today to rule out structural causes of infertility. As far as her medical history, she was diagnosed with anxiety at 18. She had an appendectomy at 12. She got her period at 14. She's had three lifetime sexual partners with no history of STIs. She's currently not on any medications, and she has no known drug allergies.
