In this message, Sister Melissa discusses the importance of worshiping God and surrendering our lives to Him. She emphasizes that worship is not just through singing, but also through surrendering our lives and obeying God's word. Sister Melissa then reads from Luke 10, where Jesus commends Mary for choosing to sit at His feet and hear His word, while Martha was distracted with serving. She explains that both service and worship are important, but they should be done without complaining or comparing to others. Sister Melissa encourages listeners to seek personal revelation from God and to do everything unto the Lord. She also mentions a similar situation with Peter in John 21. Hello, everyone. Good morning. It's me, Sister Melissa. Yes, I am back with another message from the Holy Spirit, a message that will edify our souls, a message that will bring hope and encouragement, but also a message that is going to illuminate our understanding from the Scriptures, because Jesus is always wanting us to understand that He is constantly speaking. He's always on the move, and He is always willing and ready to give us vital revelation through His Word. It is 10 a.m., September 22, 2023, and I believe that through this Word that the Lord has given me, we are going to have a better understanding of what it is to worship God Almighty, to worship Jesus Christ, to worship the Holy Spirit, because many times we have a misconception on what worship truly is. It comes in many ways. One of the ways we obviously know is through our voices and singing. That's one way. The other way is by really surrendering our lives into the hands of the One who gave His life for us, and when we surrender, we are making a bold declaration to the kingdom of darkness that we will follow after Jesus and not our own ways. We will not be led away by the lies and deception of the evil one, and when we surrender our lives to God, we worship God by saying, I will live the rest of my life for Jesus, through Jesus, and every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God, I will obey, because I have been called to worship God, whether it's through my voice, whether it's through an act of service, just completely surrendering every part of who I am as a declaration that I will not follow the things of this world. I will not bow down to the things of this world, but I will worship God with all of my being, with all of my heart, with all of my soul, with all of my spirit, with all of my mind, with every part of my fiber being, I will worship God and surrender, and I will lay everything that I am and I have right down to the feet of Jesus. Today's message comes from Luke chapter 10, and we're going to start with verse 38, and the word of God reads like this, Now it happened as they went that he entered a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha welcomed him into her house, and she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus's feet and heard his word, but Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached him and said, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me, and Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. Father God, I just declare in the mighty name of Jesus right now that you, Lord, will illuminate our understanding. First and foremost, I want to say thank you for your grace. Thank you for your mercy. Thank you, Lord, because in everything that we do, we do it unto the Lord, Jesus Christ, because you, Lord Jesus, have gone before us and conquered the grave, and you've given us eternal life, and while we are here on this earth, we can worship, and we can praise your holy name, knowing that your spirit is with us, knowing that your spirit illuminates our understanding, knowing that your spirit, it manifests the revelation of your word, and even when we read a portion of your word, you can slice it and dice it and cut it into a thousand revelations, and through one word, there could be many revelations to what you are trying to say to your people, so I thank you, Father, because your ways are mysterious, but you are with us, and you are with us to show us the way. You are with us, Lord, Father, God, that when we cannot comprehend, that when it starts to become very perplexed in our way of thinking, you come along, and you illuminate our understanding, and what we could not understand then, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we will be able to grasp what it is you are saying to your people, and for that reason, I thank you, Jesus, because although we do not deserve your mercy or your grace, but you freely give it, because you are love, and we are grateful and thankful for your mercy, and for your never-ending grace, only you can prepare the heart for a great salvation and a great deliverance, so we thank you in advance, Father, for what you have done, what you're doing, and what you are about to do in these times that we are living in. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray, amen and amen. Hallelujah. God is so wonderful. He is so good. Really quickly, I just want everyone to know that we can hear podcasts, and we can hear sermons every Sunday, we can hear preaching every single time we click on YouTube, or wherever on social media, we hear the Word of God being sent and launched into the airways, but I want you to understand something very clear, that although these things are here for us to hear, and faith comes by hearing the Word of God, God ultimately wants each and every single one of us to find revelation, not just through social media, not just through a platform at church, but he wants you to go and seek him for yourself, and that is how we build a personal relationship with the Lord God Almighty, by taking time out, and reading, and scrutinizing the Word of God, and really pressing into the presence of God, and saying, I know that I get revelation from other people that you use, but I really want, and I need you, Lord, to give me a personal revelation through your Word, because I just don't want to be eating off of everyone else's plate. I want to be able to go directly to your throne room, being covered in the blood of Jesus, and I want you, and I need you to speak to my soul, to speak to my heart, to speak truth into my spirit, so that I too can be used by you. I need someone out there to understand that God wants to give you revelation, but you first must seek the kingdom of God, and his righteousness. Oh, hallelujah. I wanted to just throw that out there. It is a great thing that we tune in to podcasts, that those who are preaching the Word of God through social media, on YouTube, wherever the gospel is being preached, we need to open our spiritual ears to hear what the Lord is saying, but also, God wants us to obtain a personal relationship with him, and the only way we will do that is when we ourselves go into the secret place, and we seek revelation from God himself, and he will give it to us, because that is who our God is. He wants to show us those things that have been hidden. He wants to reveal, hallelujah, to us the mysteries of his Word, and God will do it when we press into his presence. Hallelujah. Now, let's go back to where we were reading from in Luke chapter 10. We were talking about Martha and Mary. A lot of people have misconceptions about Martha, right? So, I want to clear something up right from the start. Martha was a fanatic for serving, but she still had a form of worship, just like Mary did, and now I want to put a contract between Luke chapter 10, starting with 38, all the way to 42, and I want to go to the Word of God in the book of John chapter 21, verse 20 through 22, and the reason why I do this is because what happened with Martha and Mary, it also took place with Peter and another disciple. So, first, I want everyone to understand something. When Martha was serving, the Bible says that Mary, she was already at the feet of Jesus, and when Martha was distracted serving, Martha came to Jesus and said to Jesus these words, Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore, tell her to help me, and Jesus answers and replies to Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. Now, when we look at Martha, we see that Martha was the one preparing the meal for Jesus. We see that Mary also began complaining because Mary was at the feet of Jesus. Now, when we talk about this, we tend to lean more on Martha was too busy, and she was a fanatic for serving, and Mary was just this woman who wanted to stay at the feet of Jesus, who wanted to worship, who wanted to hear the message, but we fail to understand that in our act of service, when we do our service with complaining, we miss out on the true identity of worship and service unto the Lord. You see, when Mary came to Jesus, she came to Jesus complaining that she was doing all the work, and that Mary was just sitting at the feet of Jesus hearing the message, but I want you to understand that we're all called to do something on this earth, and the thing that we were called to do, whether it's in service or whether we are on a pulpit worshiping with our voice, we are to do everything unto the Lord without complaining, without going to Jesus and saying, why is she doing that? Why is he there? And why am I here? That is not what Jesus wants. Everything that we do, we need to do it unto the Lord as scripture tells us, and the reason why I say this is because although Mary was at the feet of Jesus hearing the message, do you know that in your act of service, you can still hear the word of God, even though you may be caught up with the things of life, you can still have time to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying, because the Holy Spirit is able to do two things at once. He is able to have us working, and he's still able to bring revelation upon us at the very same time, simultaneously, but what holds us back from truly functioning in the supernatural level that God wants us to walk in, and he wants us to live in, is when we begin complaining about what the other person is doing, or what the other person is not doing, instead of doing what you are doing unto the Lord. If we go to the book of John in chapter 21, we see that Peter does the same exact thing that Martha did by going to Jesus. Look at what Jesus says to Peter, and the word of God says, Peter, seeing him said to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus said unto him, if I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you? Follow me. Now we go to verse 20 of the book of John, chapter 21, and this is what the word of God says, Then Peter, turning about, seeing the disciple whom Jesus loved following, which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee? Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? Jesus said to him, if I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to you? Follow me. Let me tell you something, the same exact attitude Martha had, Peter had it too, and the only difference is, in the book of John, chapter 21, in verse 22, Jesus tells him, follow me, what is it to you if he tarry till I come? What is it to you if he's doing what he's doing until I come? The point here is, when we are doing acts of service unto the Lord, we need not to look at what everyone else is doing around us, but we need to focus and zoom on in on what Jesus is doing in and through us, because as I stated before, everything that we do, we ought to do it unto the Lord, because it is God who calls us, it is God who equips us, it is God who has deposited the gifts and talents within us, it is God who gives us the ability to do, hallelujah, everything in a unique way, but in the purpose and will of God, he wants us to focus on what he is doing in and through us, and not pay attention to those who are around us, because every single one of us has a divine assignment from heaven to fulfill, and when we spend our time complaining about what other people are doing or not doing, that is taking us away from what God wants to do in our lives. Come on somebody, you have to understand what the Lord is saying. Don't be such a fanatic that you're going to go to Jesus and complain about your brother or sister. Don't be such a fanatic that is going to take you away from what it truly means to worship the Creator. God has called us on an assignment, and whether that is an assignment to the service, whether it is an assignment in the ministry, whether it is an assignment in our praise and worship, whether it is an assignment in our act of service, we are to do it unto the Lord, because that is what God has called us to do, and leave the rest unto God, because God knows how to deal with our situation that is at hand. I pray that this has blessed you, and I hope that you have gained revelation from what the Spirit of God is trying to tell us all. Don't worry about what your brother or sisters are doing. Unless God puts it in your heart, then you pray for them, but don't be discouraged, don't worry, and do not complain about what is going on around you. More so, worship the Creator, whether it's in your act of service, or whether it's on a stage worshiping and praising the Lord, but most of all, surrendering your life into the hands of God is what's going to cause you to focus on the assignment that God has for your life. I cannot leave this podcast without inviting you, yeah you, you don't know who God is, you don't know Jesus, but you want to know Him, and you want to obtain a personal relationship with Him. Well, I will show you how to do that today, yes, right now. It's very simple, as a matter of fact, just close your eyes and repeat after me, Jesus, I come to you, and I lay down my life at the foot of the cross. I recognize that I have sinned against you, and only against you have I sinned, and I believe that you took my punishment on Calvary's cross, and I also believe that you shed your blood for me, to cover my sins, to wash me clean, to purify and sanctify me, so Lord Jesus, I declare from this day on out, that you are on the throne of my heart, and you are Lord and Savior of my life, and I truly believe that you rescued me, and I am saved, and my name is written in the Lamb's book of life, and I have eternal life, that when I leave this earth, I will see you face to face. Thank you for what you have done for me on the cross. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen. If you said that prayer, welcome to the family of God. I hope and I pray that you continue to seek the Lord. I would start with reading Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They are the gospels in the New Testament. If you do not have a church that you are going to, come to our church. It's 125 MJ Boulevard, Brentwood, New York, 11717. Come be a part of the family. We are here to help. We are here to pray with you. We are here to make sure that you fulfill your purpose in Christ Jesus, because where there is unity in love, there is victory. Until the next time, bye-bye for today.
