Classroom activities that involve singing can improve listening skills among students. In the speaker's elementary school days, they would start each day with singing and would sing in the classrooms and on the playground. Singing sparked their imagination. Now, the speaker's sister enjoys singing and matching her vocals with different outfits. The activity mentioned involves standing up and listening for a repeat sound, which is a fun and active group activity. Students take turns playing "stand up and listen." One thing with children slash students, these types of classroom activities can enhance listening skills among students because they remember singing with friends. In my elementary school days, teachers and students began each day with singing. We learned about musics from our musics teacher, but we sang everywhere in our classrooms and on playground. One winter, you could find us out at recess climbing the snow banks to sing into imaginary microphones. I wanna hold your hands. Were we Beatles rocking and rolling on our stage of snow? Singing was the gateway to our imagination. Now my sister sing, let it go. Along with business outfit or match their vocals with the wiggles. To stand up and listen, this is a fun, active, all group activity to play for this activity. A challenge is for students to listen for a repeat. As soon as students think they hear the repeated sound, they must stand up next to the seat once students gets the hang of it. Take a turn playing stand up and listen.
