Here, I am your host, Nicole Chia, and this podcast is meant for Cal Poly students and alumni to learn more about our fast-moving technological world. Here, I have guests and experts from many different industries to share their knowledge with us Mustangs. This podcast is in an effort to help broaden your horizons and hopefully encourage some of you guys to all apply AI in an environmentally friendly manner. Today, I have my guest, Abigail Branson. Hi, there. She is a teacher, and she's also a Cal Poly alumni, and she has a lot of different experience with paperless classrooms, which has its own multitude of benefits. It decreases paper waste, builds digital literacy. So how has been implementing technology in the classroom affected you as a teacher, Abbie? I'm really surprised with how easy it is. The platforms are really easy to use, and I barely make my way to the copy machine anymore. And it's amazing, too. The kids love it. They're engaged by it. And oftentimes, the platforms are very student-friendly, and they're fun and interactive, and I love it. The transition's been great. That's been great to hear. How easy is it to implement it into the classroom? It's really easy. Not only do a lot of teachers at my school use it, and we're all very helpful on spreading awareness about it, which is great, and just the platforms are so easy. Anyone can get started right away. How can others go about transitioning their workplace into a paperless environment? I would say talking to resources, talking to other teachers, and just really being ready to implement that change, because it's easy. It's just once you start looking into it, researching, talking to others, the change is easy and can happen right away. I think the benefits become clear early on, and peer support would be a great thing to implement, too, with that, of I'm sure a lot of people there already are well-versed with technology. Yeah. Just another platform that's easy to use and cuts out the paper. I'm telling you, there's so much paper in the school, and there does not have to be. Yeah.
