We will start with a read-aloud about expressing feelings safely. Then, we will learn about the different zones of regulation and how they can help us identify our feelings. After that, we will make a list of different feelings and turn it into a word cloud for our classroom. This will help us find words to describe how we are feeling. Feelings and emotions help us to express who we are. Today we will be learning about the zones of regulation and our feelings. Sometimes we can have big feelings and that is okay, but it is important that we know how to tell others about our big feelings and handle them in safe ways. We are going to start with a read-aloud. This story is a little spot of feelings and it is going to tell us what happens when you don't express your feelings in a safe way. Next, we will learn the different zones of regulation and how they can help us identify how we are feeling. Finally, we will make a list together of different feelings we might have. Then we will turn this into a word cloud and Ms. Nicole will print it out and hang it in our classroom. We can use this when we are trying to find words to describe how we are feeling.
