As you know, all of you know, I retired a couple years ago, but I was doing some consulting for a company. They just notified me they're not going to use me as much. So that revenue stream is gone. And so I pray that I can find something locally here. I applied for Ace Hardware yesterday near my house and just pray that someone will open a door that I can, you know, walk into. I'm not looking for a career anymore. I just want something simple, you know, I don't want to consult anymore for medical folks and I don't want to be traveling and all that kind of stuff. You get what I'm saying. But pray that God will open the door. Maybe Ace Hardware, Home Depot or something like that. So if you could pray that for me, I would deeply, I deeply appreciate it. I'm sorry. Hey, I'm going to look outside. We've got a really, I'm going to take you guys outside. We've got a really bad dust storm here and I want you guys to hear it. Hang on. I'm helping a friend's mom who is 91 and there are so many people at this senior living attacking me spiritually. Father God, I pray that you would just watch over this soldier, that you would just protect her, put that head protection while she is loving and taking care of this 91 year old person. No, I believe that as the scripture talks about that we will see Jesus in the air with a loud shout those that are dead in Christ first will rise and meet him in the air and those of us are still alive will meet him in the air. I just followed you if you're in Arizona. I want to make sure that we're following each other. And so she blessed our ministry. And also I got a phone call yesterday from a gentleman named Mr. Jim Taylor. He might be on here, but he is a software engineer and he said he said that he wanted to bless our ministry to if you will set up our whole computer system so that we're able to use every platform maybe Tick Tock or Instagram or whatever that is and he's going to integrate all that. So he called he says I want to make your church to you know, my first one that I do and I want to offer this to other churches. So I oh my my I was truly truly truly blessed. So now what do you recommend me read to get closer to God? Well particular Bibles that I'm just in love with all the Bible but Genesis is one of my favorite books and then I would jump over to the book of John and so with that being said when you read Genesis and John I think between those two are very powerful read that would help accelerate if you will your closeness to the Lord because when you start reading to me when you start reading those two books all of a sudden you are utterly amazed how Jesus was there from the very beginning. Absolutely Matthew is a wonderful book. And so but any books of the Bible you can't lose just take time to read them. Good morning. My brother happy Wednesday morning to you all away from Australia Shalom. How are we doing over there in Australia? You know, I spent some time in Perth and I just love people from Australia are beautiful people. So hey, can I just throw something by you guys? I was yesterday. I was looking through tick-tock real quick and there was a guy on there that on his live. He had God is not real the Holy Spirit's not real and he listed all these things and I guarantee you the first time I saw him and I didn't really stay on his page. But the first time I saw him was the time span was at least seven hours. So I saw him earlier and then I saw him later and that guy with his his mockery his his blasphemy with his his nonsense. Do you know that every time I just happen to look he consistently had on at least at least 2,000 listeners 2,000 listeners and I didn't look who was was commenting on his his his post or what he was saying, but I said how do 2,000 people sit and listen to nonsense. I was utterly amazed and I was like my my my my we folks we got some work to do as Christian folks. Did y'all hear me? We have some work to do as as a church as the ministry we need to to to to get on at least on tick-tock. Let's get that thousand followers and let's start doing some lives. You say well, I don't know enough scripture you you see me. I'm my memories not that great. But trust me we can all get on a lot together. And if we ask somebody can you find that scripture we can all go on and we will help find that scripture. I do it when I first started I was all shy. Oh, they're going to judge me because I can't my memories not that good forget that the gospel needs to be preached. We don't have time to be all, you know, self-conscious and people looking at me. We need to share that gospel folks. We need we need to let people know what is the word say we need to get to get get. Oh, it's serious. Especially here on tick-tock when I saw 1.7 a hundred one thousand seven hundred people continuously listening to his lies and his fibbing and so I didn't have time to jump on there and refute him. But you know what I would rather see is all of us Christian folks start getting our lives and start doing them. That's what I rather see. All right articles of the faith got him right here. Let's talk about him. You ready number two yesterday. We said the scriptures the Bible but number two the true God we believe as you remember I said, I'm a Baptist preacher. I pastor a Baptist Church and I'm giving you the articles of faith, but we believe we believe the scriptures teach that there is one and only one living and true God and infinite intelligent spirit whose name is Jehovah the maker and supreme ruler of the heavens and earth and expressly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible honor confidence and love that in the unity of the Godhead. There are three persons the father the son and the Holy Ghost equal and every Divine Perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of Redemption. So the we as Baptist in our articles of faith, we believe there's one God. All right, but in that one God we believe the Trinity the father the son and the Holy Spirit and we believe these three are one now. I know people get all up in a you know, you know the how do you believe in the Trinity this and that folks if you know, you know, and I've done Bible studies on lives in the morning. You see the Trinity just all over the scriptures from the very first verse in the beginning God we see God Elohim now, I would not use that as a basis of argument to prove the Trinity but every individual who is studied or you don't have to study Greek or Hebrew, but even if you get a blue letter Bible, even if you look up the word Elohim Elohim is Elohim and plurality. So even from the very beginning we see this this this Trinity even though the word Trinity is not in the Bible and I know some people will come at you within that argument, but you know, which you know, because you know first verse let's look at John 424 not to prove the Trinity but to prove the true God the one God there's no other I'll read this again. We believe that the scriptures teach there are three there that three wait a minute. We believe that the scriptures teach that there is one and only one living true God and infinite intelligent spirit whose name is Jehovah the maker and supreme ruler of the heavens and earth and expressly glorious in his holiness and worthy of all possible honor confidence and love that in the unity of the Godhead. There are three persons the father the son the Holy Spirit goes equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. So our first verse John 424 John 424, let's support that statement and why we do this. So John 424. All right, John 424 and let's look what it says John 424 says is God is spirit and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Let's drink hang on. Take a sip of coffee. So we believe that God is spirit. We believe that those that worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth. So with that being said and if you remember that particular story Jesus is talking to a woman at the well and he's talking to her with regards to how the Jews must worship how we must worship that it must be in spirit and truth. Let's stop right there. Let's sort of break that down a bit. We as Christians are filled with the Holy Spirit. And because we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are now able to worship God. Why? Because God is spirit. Now we are able to worship God in spirit. But now on top of that it must be in truth. What is the truth? Well, Paul said sanctify them without truth without word is true. Someone find that for me when Paul said they said sanctify them without truth without word is truth. Somebody where is that at anybody find that for me? Good morning. Can somebody find that for me? Sanctify them without truth without word is truth. I know it's in the New Testament. I think it's in the book of John. Somebody give me that real quick. Sanctify them without truth without word is truth. Where is that? Can anybody throw that out there to me? Anybody? John 17 17. Thank you so much. Sanctify them by your truth. Your word is truth. So we see it. I wanted to make sure I just wasn't paraphrasing but we see there that that those that worship God must worship him in spirit and truth. So the Holy Spirit we are sealed by the spirit. We've received the spirit and now we must worship God in the truth. What is the truth? The word of God because remember yesterday we talked about the scriptures. This is why it is imperative important that we study the word of God. This is why it's important that you take time out in the course of your day. The individual said I brought my Bible to work today. That is powerful. If you are able to if you have a job where you're able to take your Bible and maybe disappear a bit on your breaks for lunch and read it and study it. What a beautiful thing. But guess what? What if you have a job where you can put in some earphones, you know, put on some earphones and you can listen to the word of God, you know, one of the things I love doing when I'm working in the yard. I will listen to James Earl Jones do the Bible it reading of the Bible just to listen to it. You understand what I'm saying? Why because I want to know the truth. I want to study the truth. I want to be in the truth and trust me. Don't don't don't study so that you can impress upon others how much you know study that you may have that self-edification that you may grow in the faith a lot of times watch this. Hang on just second and this is true. A lot of times some of you will listen to a sermon and you never do your fact check or your post follow-up or your own self-study and you take it as if it is the gospel symbolically speaking. It is the gospel, but you know what? I mean, you take it as if that man preaching that word is teaching you the truth and you don't go into your fact check or do your research and what happens is you find yourself being misled and that's why we have so many people especially on this app with nonsense because why they have been taught something they have the ability and the charisma to teach others and they've been misled and then they find themselves misleading others. Let me give you an example. This is a very elementary example. So in our church historically our church had on the first Sundays of okay on the 5th Sundays every year the women would dress up in all white. So on the 5th Sunday of every year, it was a tradition that the women would dress up a whole white. Now why I don't know not the church I've passed but under my father's church or under my father's ministry. So that tradition took on a life of itself almost to biblical proportion meaning people did it because they thought it was biblical. Well, when I first started attending my wife one particular 5th Sunday, she wore a regular outfit. Maybe I don't even remember maybe it was dress pants and a nice blouse and so on etc. Well, somebody came up to my wife and said, excuse me, why don't you have white on and she looked and my wife was a bit offended and she says why would I have white on what is the point? Well on 5th Sundays we wear all white and my wife says well, would you show me that in the Bible? Now don't get me wrong. My dad understood why they wore white on 5th Sunday. He didn't teach that it was biblical but the people received that as biblical. Do you get what I'm saying? And because they received it as biblical they held the level of accountability to people who were coming to the church to dress in white on the 5th Sunday which there was nothing biblical about that at all, but it took a biblical life of itself. Do you see where I'm going? That same process and analogy takes places in churches all over America or all over the world. But if you would read your Bible, Joshua, good morning, if you would read your Bible, good morning, good morning, good morning, Billy Joe, good morning. If you would read your Bible, you could put these things in check. So this is why we read the scripture and we hear those that worship God must worship in spirit and in truth. Now with that particular verse, how else does that verse play out? Well, what if someone is not in truth? What if they're in a religion that does not teach truth? Okay, I'm not here to pick on some folks, but you guys throw it out there. Give me another religion that teaches within Christian that call themselves Christian that teach a lie. Anybody, I'll let you pick, I'll let you pick and we'll elaborate on it. You tell me another religion that says they're Christians, but they do not teach. Okay, there you go. Someone said the LDS. Okay, here we go. The Bible said we saw it right there that in John 4 24, it says what it says, those who worship God must worship in spirit and truth. Now, let's let's talk about that. So if you see them worshiping and they say they're worshiping God, what spirit are they worshiping from? What is the spirit that's leading them and what truth do they really have? That's the question. So if you're to worship in spirit and truth, I asked what spirit is leading them to this false doctrine to this false teaching. Do you see where we're going here? See those that worship God worship in spirit and truth. Not all worshipers of God are worshiping in the spirit. Someone said JWs, Jehovah Witnesses. Well, remember what I said when they claim they're Christians. What does a Christian mean? Means a follower of Christ. Somebody find in the Bible real quick. I help me when this is the time when they first called them Christians. Where's that in the Bible? This is the first time. This was the first time they called them Christians. I think that's what it says or I'm paraphrased. There we go. Here we go is to be a curse. Amen. Where's that in the Bible? This is the first time they called them Christians. Somebody show me that in the scriptures. It let's see. Go ahead. Here we go. Where's it at? Somebody help me out. Acts 11. Okay, we're going to go to Acts 11. Acts 11 what? And you're absolutely right. Acts 11 what? Somebody get me there. Acts 11 what? And this is the first time. I think you're right. I think you're right. Acts 11. Acts 11 what? Help me out. This is the first time at 1126. Love you. And when he had found him, he brought him the Antioch. So it was that for a whole year. They assembled with the church and taught a great many people and the disciples were first called Christians and Antioch. So Christians meaning followers of Christ that were worshiping God in spirit and worshiping God in truth. But any religion remember I said they declare themselves to be Christians if they are worshiping God it better be in truth. And where's that truth? That truth is in the word of God the Bible the scriptures as we know it. But when you mention other religions that call themselves Jehovah Witness, I mean, so sorry other faiths that call themselves Christians like LDS Jehovah Witnesses. They're not worshiping God. They're not worshiping God. They are are worshiping what they will form that they believe is God. They're worshiping in a man, but they're not worshiping God. So there we go. All right, let's turn to Psalms. Once again, we're looking at the articles of faith. Let me read it again for you. So in John we noted that what we worship in spirit and truth. Let's go to Psalms 147 verse 5 147 verse 5 Psalms 147 verse 5 and you know, I'm going through this because I want you to know what we believe as Baptists, you know, a lot of misnomers regarding Baptists and who they are now. There are variations of Baptist. There's landmark Baptist. There's free will Baptist. There's missionary Baptist, but under the banner of Baptist. This is what we believe in. So it probably lines right up to the non-denominational church down the road. It probably lines up to the to the I don't know. I don't know Evie free Calvary Chapel. So we line up with this. We are still Christians under the same banner, but look at this Psalms 147 verse 5. He says great is our Lord and mighty in power. His understanding is infinite. Did you hear that? Let me read it again. We're talking about the one and true God great is our Lord and mighty in power. His understanding is infinite. Wow, our God. Good morning, sir. Good morning. Loving this Arizona weather. Amen, right? Our God in as we read right there, the Lord is infinite and his power his might. He is great. He is God. Let me stop right there. Just a minute for a second. I find a lot of people with emphasis on Christian folks. We don't have that reverence for God like we should. You might not agree but that reverence for the Lord is missing and we are wondering why we're not experiencing that joy or wondering why we're not seeing the blessings in our life because we don't reverence God matter of fact, the Western culture has minimized God. We've almost turned God into a cuddly plaything equal to maybe like a teddy bear. You know, we have the non-believers call him Sky Daddy and then we as believers, we minimize who God is. We've minimized his authority. We've minimized his might. We're dealing with God folks, the creator of the heavens and the earth. We look at and I don't know about y'all but I cannot shake. God in the Old Testament same God same God, but God in the Old Testament was no nonsense and some of the things that we do as Christians if that were to take place in the Old Testament, we would have been struck down. Some of the things that we look at some of the things that we read. Thank you so much. Some of the things that we consume if we were in the Old Testament, we would have been struck down. Why? We are not taking God serious. We mock God to some degree. We act like that. He's not important, but he's God. And as we read that verse, great is our Lord. That's another thing. Hang on just a second. Let me preach a little bit more here at you because I don't know if this is this is this is infecting anybody here. Hear me out. Some of us put things in life before God. Some of us put relationships before God. Somebody take that verse. I'm going to keep my finger here, but somebody take me to that verse. Seek ye the kingdom of God. Where's that at? Seek ye the kingdom of God and all his righteousness. Somebody where's that at? I'm going to keep my finger here. So I don't lose my spot. We're going to come back here to Psalms. Where's that? Is that Matthew 6 23? Praise be to God. Man, you don't know how blessed I am to have y'all out here. You oh my my oh my my I am so blessed for but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added to you. The Bible says seek ye first what the kingdom of God. Sometimes we seek God last when making a plan. Sometimes we seek God last when looking for a spouse. Sometimes we put things in life before God and and and now watch this. Oh, and I know I'm stepping on some toes. We put we put God last on certain things, but when mess hits the fan now, we want to call up on the name of God. How many are guilty when when things go south now, we want to put God at that preeminent position, but that scripture right there said but seek first the kingdom of God first not last let me give you a thank you. Let me give you an elementary example. Let's say that let's we'll pick on Billy Joe there. She's shared with us. Let's say Billy Joe gets a brand new car. All right, and she reads the the driver's manual and the driver manual gives her the the the maintenance that should be done on this car on a yearly basis and Billy Joe just denies to even do it. She just she just decides I'm not going to do any maintenance. I'm just going to drive this car until the wheels come off and then all of a sudden Billy Joe decides watch this. She gets out. She drives down the road and all of a sudden the engine light comes on everything starts flashing and all of a sudden she's broke down on the side of the road. Then she calls the tow truck to go tow it over there to the oil change place doesn't drive isn't running right and she says will you change my oil, please? The motor is ruined. She never changed the oil over the course of years. She never changed the oil. She never changed the air filter. She never checked the brake fluid. She never checked the radiator. The thing is messed up. And now she wants to take it over to the oil change place minute lube. I guess they would call it and say can you change the oil? Well, that's sometimes with us. We live this reckless life putting God last we consume all the alcohol. We involved ourselves in sexual activity that adds out of the scope of marriage. We do drugs. We just live this abusive life. And then when all the mess hits the fan, thank you so much when all the mess hits the fan. Now you want to call up on the name of God, but when the scripture said, thank you, y'all. Thank you so much for blessing. But what the scripture said, but seek first the kingdom of God first. First, if you're going to buy a new house, honey, let's pray about this. If you're going to go out and look for a spouse, let me pray about this. If I'm going to go seek a job, even the job that I'm right now, I pray for me that I find a little gig that I can do here locally. I don't want to fly anywhere. I don't want to consult. I don't want to talk to doctors anymore. I want to do something in as a no-brainer because I want to focus on scripture. However, I've been asking God, God, if it's your will for me to work at Ace or Home Depot, let thou will be done. And I'm waiting on God. I'm waiting on God. Now, one might say, well, how long will you wait? I will wait as long as I have to. And then in that waiting, I know God will provide just say somebody bless the ministry. All right. So what I'm trying to say once again, but seek first the kingdom of God. Don't just jump in something. Just don't go buy that thing. And I don't know about y'all. I'm and that's another thing that amazes me. Watch this. I know people. That have gone out. Real quick folks. I'm looking out my window and it looks like the Wizard of Oz storm. It it looks do you guys want me to take you outside? Just look real quick. Just a look. Do you want me? I know we're on that. We'll get to that. Let's just stay with the word. I'm so sorry. That have gotten themselves in a mountain of debt. Why they didn't see God. They didn't see God's guidance. They minimize God. And they've gotten themselves in a mountain of debt. And watch this. They'll come tell us who God blesses with this. No way. Good morning, brother. Brian. No, don't say God bless you with this. You didn't see God and now you have this debt. It happens all the time. Why? Because they're not seeking the kingdom of God. I go back to my original point. We have minimized God. We put God in the backseat and in some cases we got God in another car and we're not seeking God. But we as as as as as true believers as Christians, we should seek God's opinion on everything. We should we should we should we should want to know what our father and if you don't hear you will stand still and wait till he delivers. Watch this. Somebody take me to that scripture. It was when Moses said stand still and watch God deliver you. Somebody take me ask for that. I know I'm getting you close. I'll get you close enough. He said stand still Pastor Paul, but what if the debt is used towards an asset? God says we must fulfill our days to let me speak to that John in just a second. I'm not saying that we're not going to get that but I'm saying when a person will buy something that they don't need and they claim that God gave this to me. All right, they'll they buy something they completely Exodus 14 13. Thank you. They buy something and get in debt and they find themselves in a position where why did I do that? Now, maybe you guys have never done that. I'm speaking to myself. I've done that. I got a truck out there GMC pickup. There's days. I wish I hadn't got it. It'll be paid off here in about four months. But why did I get this? Okay, what does he say in 1413? He says he says right here and Moses. Oh, let's back up. Let's back up to 12. We're in 1412. Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt saying let us alone that we may serve the Egyptian for it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that. We should die in the wilderness. So right now the the children of Israel are super scared because here comes Pharaoh and his armies and they're going to come destroy the children of Israel. But watch this in verse 13 and Moses said to the people do not be afraid stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which he will accomplish for you today for the Egyptians whom you you see today. You shall see again no more forever. The key point is stand still. Just don't go and do things without seeking God stand still don't go looking for that spouse. Can I share something with you? I didn't serve God as a young man. You hear me and I was married before. I married the wrong person and it was not a good marriage after about a year and eight months. We were divorced. I was a young man in the military now though when I met Miss Debbie, I wasn't serving God, but we grew in the faith. But what if before you went out and found a spouse? I'm talking to you those of you who are her single. What if you were to ask God God? What if you were to ask God God? I'm going to stand still. Until you deliver the spouse to me. Think about it. If you were to do that. You said well Pastor Paul, I've been single, you know, a year two years three years stand still. How do you know when God's talking to you when God's when when when God's word lines up with God's word when he he lines up with God's word now. What will happen is I will get a movement in my spirit and it can be a small thing to the smallest point you buckle up your seatbelt. I know that's of God. Why because I'm to obey the laws. What if what if I'm someplace and all of a sudden I the spirit moves upon me that I better be careful. I better be alert. That's the spirit alerting me, you know it because those of us who worship God worship in spirit truth when you know his voice, you know, it is of God. You know, it is of God you you you you you without a doubt. It is God now though. If someone says God told me to go rob a bank. Is that of God? If so, if someone told you God told us to take this airplane and crash it into a building. Is that Okay, I'm going to hear guys. I'm going to know amen. to share some encouragement with one of our sisters in the chat Remy Michelle because she's you know just sharing some things that I know a lot of us have have gone through maybe some of us are still in that place where she you know she asked the question how do I be in love how do I how do I like be in love with Jesus or something along the lines that was the question that was pinned about how do I love God and she's been sharing how you know she she feels sometimes like she's been abandoned and she feels like it's really hard to get close to him because she doesn't feel holy and so I know that a lot of us can relate to this and I've been there myself when I used to look at God from a very distant a very distant perspective and I thought to myself there is no way that I can possibly be as holy and righteous as God has called me to be and therefore how could anyone ask this of me or how could I even why even try or like what am I doing all this for and it wasn't until I really sat and tried to understand like the the life the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ to sit there with the reality that God has to love me and God has to want more for me because if he didn't he wouldn't have sent his son to die for me and he didn't just send his son to die for me so that I could be with him in heaven like obviously that that is a blessing that we received but I'm still here today so he's done this thing so that in my life now in this flesh now that I might know him and I might have fellowship with him but I didn't understand these things or begin to understand these things until I asked God to help me understand them in prayer and I was fervent in asking him I didn't ask him a few times and then just kind of wait and hope I remained faithful in prayer because we know that fervent prayers of righteous men and women are what avail much and it wasn't until I really started to get into the word I wasn't necessarily looking for anything specific but I trusted and believed what God's Word says is that his word can transform our minds and that his word is a discerner of the thoughts in the heart and can cut me and soften my heart and change my mind and reveal truth to me so I didn't really know what I was looking for I didn't really have an expectation of what I was going to find specifically but I trusted at least a small bit that if I at least committed to obeying him in this way that he was going to reveal himself to me and even now as I have a better revelation of God's love for me every single day I have to remind myself what God's Word says about me because our minds are going to say you are not good enough God doesn't love you how could he forgive this you know is there you're just going to hear lies and lies and lies and you need to be continuously meditating on and reading the Word of God to to take away those lies and your thoughts are not always true and you need to believe what God's Word says that if God's Word says I loved you so much that I sent my son to die for you then you need to believe that God loves you and if God's Word says that I've called you to righteousness you need to believe that he's going to equip you in that call and make you righteous through his son and if God's Word says that I will never leave you nor forsake you then you need to believe that and I know it's hard but we cannot live by feelings and and it's why at some point that we are around like-minded people people who know the Lord people who love the Lord and that we are constantly renewing our minds so I just wanted to get on here and encourage her because I know how alienating it can feel when you're having a hard time believing just these simple truths that God loves you he wants the best for you he's faithful to you and so I just want to encourage her in that and let her know that we're praying for her and I'll be praying for her and and so I just want to get on here and share that so I appreciate you let me jump on the last minute I didn't see it but I was like that didn't look like yours but you know what I completely agree with you so now but okay mercy me let's let's talk about that one of these and I know the answer the question but I want people to hear this where do these doubts come from yeah so it's certainly the enemy who's a liar right certainly the world because up until our point of salvation we have been conformed by the world and until we receive salvation and until we receive the Holy Spirit then we begin that transformation so up until that point that we receive the Spirit the world has been conforming our thoughts all the anxiety all the fear all that I'm not good enough it's from the world around us because the world lives outside of fellowship with their Creator we live outside of our true purpose so of course we're going to feel insignificant or insecure so until we know the Lord and know who he is who we are to him we don't see the truth so the lies come from our flesh they come from our own doubts they come from the enemy directly they come from other people in the world all over this all over the place unfortunately love it I love it yeah there there there's a continuous struggle I mean a lot of folks do not understand there is a continuous battle between the spirit and your flesh there's a can't you know and we have to love what you said we have to continuously stay in the word with a renewing of our mind we have to focus on the promises of God because even a super saint if you will it's into that point where they get a little bummed out they get a little depressed they they they often wonder as they go through their storms is God really there is my joy my patient intact do does God hear my cries so even those that are just faithfully walking we go at least in season when we find ourselves wondering God where are you Wow yeah and and a sister shared you know she experienced some abuse and so it's hard to trust in that kind of love and we don't see that we don't see the love of God in the world around us so it's hard for us to understand and we can't understand it until the Holy Spirit gives us revelation through our drawing near to him and through his grace on us but I mean I understand that because like the love of a father like that concept has always been foreign to me so that was a that was something that I had to kind of try to unlearn unlearn all these things that I thought about what fatherhood was and then really learn through the Word of God and through my relationship with him but what we do is we take our relationships with people and we assume that this this must be how God sees me or this must be how God reacts to me and he's not his ways are above our ways they're so beyond us and we have to kind of lower ourselves to this not this nothingness but we have to really empty ourselves of all that we are and all that we know outside of him so that he can you know fulfill us and teach us all all the ways of all of his ways so yeah I really appreciate what you said about staying in the word because I feel like the church is we don't encourage people enough to do this in our one-on-one time we don't encourage people enough to say there's a living God who loves you and knows you and desires to have fellowship with you and is available to you so please seek him go seek him with all of your heart and I feel like we've missed some of that and so I really appreciate you saying that about staying in the word because it's the only thing we can do against everything else around us it's we're a hundred percent reliant on his word we're a hundred percent reliant on the Holy Spirit and the death of Jesus Christ and his resurrection for all that we have and all that we need and so I'll just share this one last thing I don't want to take up your screen but... I have a question so go ahead. Okay I listen to this pastor and sister Remy if you ever want to DM me please do it because I'd love to chat with you more but I listen to this pastor enough that says you know we can't control the thoughts that come to our minds right like just like a neighbor we can't control who comes and knocks at our door but we control who we lend in our homes and so we don't control and we are not defined by the lies that are presented to us but we can choose what we do with those lies and in the face of those lies that say I'm not worthy I'm not loved I'm this I'm not we can either say to them I believe you and we could succumb to it or we can say well here's what God's Word says and and I'm going to choose to trust the Lord that's a powerful statement so we can choose that and control that narrative but once again keeping our focus on the Lord now I've got a question and you can say go jump in the lake you don't have to answer this however you said something very powerful and I think with with you know in general I don't know your personal story but in general the population one out of two marriages end in divorce and that's that's that's data that is what you said something interesting the challenge of relating to the father in heaven based on the fatherly figure in life and I'm paraphrasing yeah break that down because I think a lot of people deal with that because I've said the relationship that a person has with their earthly father I'll tell you the relationship that they have with their heavenly father break that down yeah yeah so you know I always struggled to you know God uses parallels in his word right he gives us these parallels of he's obviously not the same as an earthly father but he gives us these parallels to say that I am a comforter like a father ought to be I'm a leader I I chase in the way a father should be I love unconditionally the way a father ought to and so the assumption is that we we should see that in earthly fathers and of course because of sin we don't so we have these perverted perspectives of what fatherhood or parenthood in any case looks like and so we project those ideas or those assumptions on to how God sees us I listen to the sermon that explained it really well it says you know and he said we and and I know most money might not fit into this category but he said you know we yell at our children we get frustrated on our children we tell them you know we just we don't have time you know they need to stop they need to get together we have this impatience toward our children and then the children go and they affiliate that with how God sees them and so it's it's an exact correlation but for me specifically when I was reading you know these things like I'm a father I'm a father even seeing how Jesus spoke to spoke of the father I didn't really I don't have a sense of if I never had never my father was never in my life so I never had a father figure I never really had a strong male figure in my life consistently so when I would read these things and try to understand this kind of relationship it was really foreign to me and I was like okay I feel like I'm not quite getting it and you know it would just be literally hard to picture a father figure you know embracing a father like I don't I don't it's hard for me to conceptualize even you know hugging a grown man who's not you know what I mean like it's just very foreign to me and so when I had to really sit with that and ask the Lord like teach me how to be a daughter to a father teach teach me what a father's love is like you know teach me and and I still struggle with it sometimes I'm still learning I'm still trying to understand it and I know that there's still misunderstandings in my heart sometimes but I know the Lord's purifying me and I and I know that he's going to continue to show me and teach me but that's always been something that I've been like I don't really know how to receive this kind of love or you know so yeah you know and and and mercy me while I did have a father figure and a mother figure and so on etc I think a lot of struggle with that you know and so I think that's very powerful what you said because I you know that's deep and a lot of people equate what they see to the lens of their life or their experiences they they apply that to God but God God seeks that God is beyond that God is a merciful and loving God a kind father and so when Jesus and I think it's very powerful when Jesus says Abba father you know a terminology daddy I mean that's that's you know that that loving Abba father our God it's incredible and so how God has used you to now as you grow and progressively grow in the faith that now you look at the Father in heaven in a different way yeah and praise God is that that revelations only through him I couldn't I couldn't figure that out myself you know so I'm really grateful that uh that he's gracious to me because you know we have our misconceptions and it's not fair to the Lord but he's he's gracious no that's powerful in itself that you just said that the only that revelation came from the Lord and that within itself is very powerful and that was if you will that defining breakthrough moment for you so absolutely and you know a lot of and the sad thing mercy me I'm glad you spoke folks I call her mercy me her name is mercy go ahead I call her mercy me of course the group mercy me a lot of people I think struggle with that you know you know how do you speak to me about a father when I didn't know mother was about a loving a loving father when I can't relate to a loving father because you know my father was never in my life or a parent doesn't have to be a parent you know so that in that's incredible that you would share that that's a epic yeah well praise God thanks for asking I you know I don't usually jump in live you know you know but I saw her comments and my heart was like racing and I love it because you know I get caught up and I don't catch everything and that's why I love you guys out there so that we can we can definitely catch all those but anytime any of you especially with the core group that I get to love on and get loved on by them please if you catch something jump on let's let's let's help some people because right now people hopeless and people eat people need God's Word God's teaching and they need somebody to relate so well me the older looking gentleman with the gray hair you know speaking like well what do you know but you come on hey let me just let me just speak into your life about this I know what you're going through I love it people need to know that God loves them you know there's so much we can tell them but if they don't know that God loves them it's like you know that's what they need right everyone has condemnation everyone's received judgment at least to an extent but what they haven't received is the unconditional love that only God can give so you know that's why I love your your platform is why I follow you and while I've gotten involved with you guys with the group because of that emphasis on love because we need to hear it so yeah well you know um it's funny I'll ask you the question I asked the other day but I want to hear a real live response do you want to know why I truly believe I choose love and why we must love you ready yes I'm letting you I'm letting I'm letting mercy me represent all of you and I asked this yesterday so you'll know the answer but here we go what color is the soul so if God does not respect her person and we in America especially America we want to label eyes people with ethnicity gender whatever the case may be but what's really emphasis on ethnicity if there is no color of the soul and Jesus went to the cross to die for the soul and he's not respect your person I am left with nothing but to love not based on ethnicity not a big social class not based on anything else but to love people why because the Lord loved us and I will not give out the devil to put me in a camp it says well it's us against them no I choose love or it's that ethnicity or it's this political party against that political party no I choose love because God loved me and if you love us not you know it's not God for God's love amen amen and can I share can I share something that I've perspective I got recently that helped me better understand you know I think some people I think we can struggle with loving your neighbor as you love yourself and so you know we should know by now those of us who've been walking with the Lord at least like we should know that love is not a feeling that love is is an action love is a a stance that you take it as a decision that you make every single day I was reading this book I was reading this book and it was talking about love loving your neighbor as you love yourself and it was it was offering this illustration that said the way that we love ourselves comes to us naturally right and people confuse that to say well I don't really like myself or I don't you know no that's not what love is love is you know for example when we sin or let's say I'll give specific example when I neglect my chores when I neglect my responsibilities when I you know dive into unhealthy eating habits I grieve over that because I know that I deserve better and I know that I should be doing better for myself and I and I want to do better for myself and in that I love myself because I want more for myself and when we talk about loving people yes we can talk about specific actions but the way our heart is toward them is that when we see them sinning or when we see them in deep in deception is our hearts response to say I want better for them and and I pray that they might come to know the truth and to see better and I'm grieved because they deserve so much more or they're worth so much more because they're made in the image of God and I never really consider that perspective but it was really powerful for me because when and this is kind of like two personal conversations I've had recently in my life when we hear let's say for example you hear a rumor or you hear a bad report about someone and we have to assess ourselves and be so careful about where our hearts are because if if we hear these rumors right we hear this bad thing like oh so and so you know stepped out on their marriage and then we hear follow-up information that lets us know okay doesn't seem like we had all the details or maybe what we heard was wrong if our initial reaction it is it is it's either relief at the fact that that that that sin is probably not the case or we're kind of like wishing that it was true because we enjoyed talking about it and feeling justified against that person and and if it's not if it's not the former and if we sit there and we want these these horrible things to be true about people because it justifies our opinions on them or our dislike of them that is a wicked wicked place to be and we need to be incredibly on guard against that so I really appreciate that perspective about you know loving others is wanting the best for them and that comes out in the way that we speak to them the way that we encourage them the way that we pray for them and just our thoughts toward them so I just wanted to share that with you yeah and feelings you said something pretty rich there that was cool and real quick I want I want to say something real quick about feelings but let me say this do me a favor pray for sister Rosemary as you know she's the one whose son is in jail right now and so she said good morning pastor it's sister Rosemary I had a hard time last night God help my son have mercy on him if you all would just do me a favor and keep her in prayer keep her son in prayer she is being used by God in a powerful way but most importantly even though her son is in this circumstance he's being used by God so let's keep her lifted up in prayer but you said something that's very cool feelings feelings are dangerous yeah they're dangerous and folks when she talks about feelings you know not you know not love is not a feeling feeling let me explain feeling to you feelings can change in a moment they can just change just like that let me give you an example mercy me just let me take you back to the secular time when you were in what was that favorite jam when it came on it got you it got your attention when I was in the world when you were in the world I love Drake and like my daughter when Drake comes on does it take you back it does yeah okay let's stop right there we don't need to elaborate but my point is the feeling dangerous because when she hears Drake and a lot of you can a lot of you can relate see feelings can be moved by external events so if it's a Roma if a food maybe a holiday I can take you back that's feeling but love is an action it's a commitment it is saying I choose love because God loves me and the thing about that most of the time the feeling is I don't want to love yeah I meant so there you go no you know but we're gonna leave Drake alone because I have to I have to when my daughter first brought her first break CD home I do it away and so and she still has this delusion that she's gonna marry Drake one day so hey mercy do me a favor I need to get off but will you pray us out of here please thank you father God we thank you for this time together Lord we thank you for we thank you for your children we thank you for brothers and sisters in Christ who who have known you who have received your grace and come to know you for all that you are Lord and those of us who are still trying to understand you more clearly Lord I pray that you would give us the strength to walk in faith to to be obedient to seeking you and drawing near to you or that we will be confident and short in your promises that when we draw near to you that you draw near to us in return Lord and I just pray that you give us the strength to really see what this life is for God so we're not just here for a ticket to heaven or that we're here to bring your kingdom down here Lord so that people might have revelation of your love and of your goodness that people might be saved God so I pray that you would transform our lives that you would bring us conviction of anything in our lives that we're holding on to that is dishonoring you or disabling us in our walk and in our ministry God and that you continue to have mercy on us and we just thank you for your love we thank you for your Holy Spirit that comforts us and reminds us of all that Jesus did and testified of we thank you for sending your son all that he did and all that we get to understand about the incarnation and the resurrection and the death and all that we still have yet to understand Lord but we praise you for what we know now and we we are hopeful that you'll reveal more to us so we thank you for your grace on us Lord and we ask that you continue to have mercy and grace on us Lord until we're with you we love you and we thank you it's in Jesus name that we pray amen amen amen those of you who do not follow mercy me follow her young lady I know she does I'm
