Nothing to say, yet
Toxic productivity is a behavior where people feel guilty when they're not constantly being productive. It can lead to exhaustion and strain on mental and physical health. Comparing ourselves to others and having high expectations can contribute to this behavior. It can also affect relationships as we may not have time to spend with others. Solutions include working in moderation, taking breaks, and learning to say no to excessive tasks. By implementing these strategies, we can work more effectively and have a better work-life balance. Welcome to Radio Fresh Air Improvement with me Anh. Today we move to an interesting episode talking about toxic productivity for people who haven't known something about it. I'm so excited to share with everyone right now. Before we start, I want to introduce three guest speakers today. Hi and welcome Phuong Khanh Bao. Hi everyone. Thanks for inviting me. It's an honor for me to participate in this episode. Okay, let's start the podcast by answering to the question, what is toxic productivity? What came to your mind when you heard about that, Khanh? I think toxic productivity can be described as a stage of behavior when people can't stop being productive and they find it difficult to do nothing. Maybe I think they will feel guilty when they skip a job too. Or they will obsess in being productive all the time. It sounds bad, isn't it? That's right. However, have you guys ever been in this situation before? I'm sometimes in that kind of situation. Me neither. As you know, I'm a content creator full-time, so I couldn't get out of work. And I often run the midnight oil that I produce day by day to complete all tasks that I set out to do as my aim. Personally, I believe that working hard is nothing to be ashamed of. But like any good habit, moderation is important. So, where do you guys think it came from? I don't know exactly where it came from, but I think it totally started from my expectation and comparison. Perhaps we always compare ourselves to someone around us because seeing someone else being productive might affect us and we have to work harder. How do you feel when you want to try and finish everything you want without time off? On some days, I'm really tired and stressed. And when going down, especially when I want to try something new to share with my friends, I have no idea with everything. Of course, whenever you work without rest, it's always called both mental and physical health. For instance, if you work constantly, you will be weary and out of energy. At that moment, every activity will be interrupted. Dr. Wilco, the author of Good Feelings, said that if you don't take time to rest, your body is going to pick a time for you that you won't be able to work. Moreover, it can impact our relationship around us, right? Because you have no better time to hang out or interact with them, that might be one of the consequences. Hey, let's imagine, if we kept losing our relationship, what would happen? I think we might be isolated from the things around us. Wow, I couldn't imagine it. If it's true, I will really, really be stressed. Come on, don't be that serious. We still have some solutions for this. Relax, Bao. Alright, we will return to this study after the commercial. It is time for a sponsor today. It is an honor for us that AVPK Tours is going to be our partner. Chilling out with us throughout Vietnam to discover culture, different local food, and people in your free time. This may only. Get 30% off our family tour. Do it without hesitation. Alright, back to our real world, we had talked about what, why, and how we cause toxic relativity. Are there any solutions to get out there? Hmm, depending on my knowledge, there are some ways to reduce ourselves from toxic productivity. Honestly, I think working too much at one time or multitasking too much might not be as effective as less. But all about quality, not quantity. I agree with it. Besides that, we should have a short break time while working. By this way, we can balance between task and relax. For example, using the Pomodoro method to limit time in concentrating on something. Because if you focus on something for a long time, it will reduce your efficiency in working and you will feel exhausted. So now I know what should I do to optimize my time effectively and spend more time hanging out with my family and friends. Learning how to reject can also be a good solution. There are lots of people who want to prove themselves. That is why they keep receiving tasks and being burned out through it. There are some suggestions for you guys so you can choose the best way which is suitable for you and try to apply it in your own journey. Hopefully, after this podcast, everyone could identify exactly how to work productively without being toxic. Let me end by saying thank you to three guest speakers and all you guys for your assurance. Hope to see you in the next podcast.
