The speaker had heard about The Owl House before watching it because they were a fan of Gravity Falls and saw content related to The Owl House. Initially, they were not put off by The Owl House and had some interest in watching it. Now a praise like that might be thinking this was love at first sight, that I'd just watched the first trailer and immediately binged it within a day, but unfortunately things were a bit more complicated than that. I had known about The Owl House long before I started watching it. I was a pretty big fan of Gravity Falls, and where I'd look to find Gravity Falls content, The Owl House was always close by. Starting out I wouldn't say I was put off by The Owl House, or so that I had no interest in watching it, and I think there's a pretty clear reason as to why.
